"Master Lin from Seacrest?"
"The Master Lin from Seacrest who defeated Grandmaster Morgan Yang?"
The moment those words rang out, the whole hall erupted in a commotion.
Henry Keene squinted at Evan Lin, his eyes narrowing; Old Master Keene stood with his hands behind his back, gaze full of amusement.
Old Master Zheng was completely baffled.
Old Madam Grace Zheng looked worried, while Leon Zheng and Hans Zheng both turned to stare at Evan.
"Do you know Master Lin from Seacrest?"
Faye Zheng, eyes already red, heard this and quickly asked.
If Master Lin from Seacrest was really here, maybe he could fight Raymond Cold—and then things might actually turn around.
Rowan Zhu couldn’t help but laugh out loud: "Did you really think you were Master Lin from Seacrest? Just two nights ago, you told Yvonne Zhu the same thing to stay at our Zhu house."
I bet the only reason Yvonne Zhu fell for you was because you tricked her into thinking you’re Master Lin. Otherwise, with her standards, how could she ever like you?
Rowan Zhu looked full of disdain; Old Master Zhu just shook his head and sighed. Only Bryce Gu and Yvonne Zhu, standing nearby, fixed their burning gazes on Evan.
Victor Zhu and Henry Zhu both crossed their arms, faces icy cold.
Keene No. 2 burst out laughing: "Master Lin from Seacrest is a big name, sure—but why don’t you call him out and show us?"
Let me see if this Master Lin would really offend the Keene family just for the Zhengs!
Raymond Cold narrowed his eyes, sizing Evan up from head to toe: "Just an ordinary brat. Do you really think you can scare me by dropping Master Lin’s name?"
"Xiaoyi!" Joy Zheng listened to everyone’s chatter, looking at Evan with deep worry.
She had no idea who this Master Lin from Seacrest really was—she just saw all those hostile smiles and felt a chill in her heart.
She reached out, wanting to pull Evan behind her.
But Evan just shook his head, glanced at her, and smiled: "It’s fine, Mom."
Evan Lin brushed aside Joy Zheng’s hand and strolled forward, calm and unhurried.
Everyone’s eyes locked onto Evan Lin. With his hands clasped behind his back, he walked right up to the towering skeleton, over three meters tall. The bone giant lowered its head, its gaze cold and menacing.
“If I’m not mistaken, that cane of yours is a magic artifact forged with yin souls, isn’t it?”
Evan Lin spoke in a quiet, indifferent tone, not even sparing Raymond Cold a glance.
“Well, well, you actually know about magic artifacts.” Raymond Cold let out a chilling laugh, then his face twisted with malice. “But if you think acting like some big-shot master will make me let you off, you’re dead wrong!”
“Die!”
Raymond Cold barked the order, slamming his cane onto the floor. The hall echoed with a thunderous bang.
The skeleton giant standing in the center of the hall seemed to receive its command. It roared wildly, stretching out its bone-white hand, and slammed it down toward Evan Lin.
Faye Zheng’s heart lurched at the scene, while Autumn Zheng couldn’t bear to watch and shut her eyes tight.
Keene No. 2 was practically glowing with excitement; Victor Zhu and Henry Zhu felt a rush of satisfaction, as if justice was being served.
“Xiaoyi!”
Joy Zheng’s face went pale with fright. She shot to her feet, ready to throw herself at Evan Lin to push him out of the way, but Claire Zheng grabbed her and held her back.
Boom!
A powerful shockwave and deafening roar erupted in the center of the hall.
The terrifying force tore through the air, shattering every inch of the hall’s floor into tiny fragments.
“First I’ll kill you, then your mother. After today, the Zheng family belongs to the Keenes!”
Raymond Cold let out a sinister laugh.
Master Yan nodded repeatedly, grinning as he looked at the heavily wounded Ben Moran. “What luck! We’ve even got a first-grade Vajra expert here. Even injured, once my master has time, we’ll turn you into a puppet—now that’s some serious firepower!”
Old Master Keene chuckled. “So what if this kid knows Master Lin from Seacrest? Master Lin is far away in Seacrest. After you die today, how would he even know how you died?”
“If you hadn’t dropped that name, maybe you could’ve kept your miserable life and worked like a beast for the Keene family. But since you brought it up, you’re dead for sure today.”
