"Master, I lost the Thunderstrike Pearl," said the Black Mountain Imp.
Old Ghost of Blackmount was furious and demanded, "What happened exactly?"
After the Black Mountain Imp recounted everything in detail, Old Ghost of Blackmount's expression changed dramatically. "Damn human! Watch how I deal with him."
"Master, I..." The Black Mountain Imp said guiltily.
"Enough. Don't say anything more. Go rebuild your body first. Once I've dealt with him, I'll come back to help you." said Old Ghost of Blackmount.
The Black Mountain Imp nodded, while Old Ghost of Blackmount snorted coldly and angrily left the cave. After a few hours, he arrived at Sun–Moon Heaven, went straight underwater to inspect the scene, and found no trace of battle. He then searched for the Fish-Head Demon, but no matter how hard he looked, the Fish-Head Demon was nowhere to be found. Frustrated, he cursed, "Stupid fish!"
Then with a flash, he left. As for the Fish-Head Demon, he was currently sleeping peacefully in a cave, unconcerned with whatever was happening outside.
Meanwhile, Evan Yang had already set up formations all around. Now, he just had to wait for the legendary powerhouse to arrive.
"How is it?" Harlan asked when he saw Evan Yang return.
"Yeah, it's all set." Evan Yang replied.
"If he's not too strong, I can go out and take him on alone. If he's very strong, we'll have to join forces. I'll take the lead, you assist me," Harlan said.
Everyone understood Harlan's meaning, so they nodded in agreement, preparing for the worst.
Just as everyone settled in and prepared, rumbling sounds erupted outside.
Evan Yang exclaimed, "He’s entered the first layer of formations."
"Let’s go, let’s take a look outside," Harlan exclaimed. The group went out of the cave and saw all sorts of formations flashing outside—each one carefully arranged by Evan Yang. They were sixth-tier Immortal formations; not high-grade, but the very best among mid-grade arrays.
Even the Demon Emperor Old Ghost of Blackmount needed several powerful attacks to break each formation.
“Damn it,” Old Ghost of Blackmount cursed as he broke the formations, while Harlan and the others watched his aura.
“How is it?” Evan Yang asked Harlan, wanting to know just how strong Old Ghost of Blackmount was.
Harlan frowned. "He’s a tier above me."
A tier above? Then we’ll assist you," Evan Yang said, knowing that even a single tier difference meant a huge gap in power.
"Alright. He’s attacking now—how long can your formations hold?" Harlan asked curiously.
"At his current speed, at least half an hour. I’ve got dozens of formations here," Evan Yang replied.
Hearing this, Harlan and the others were speechless. If Old Ghost of Blackmount really broke through dozens of formations, he’d probably be exhausted.
Old Ghost of Blackmount couldn’t see what was happening inside—he only felt himself trapped in the formations. All he could do was forcibly break through, cursing as he went: “Damn it, damn it, I’ll catch you and eat you!”
Old Ghost of Blackmount couldn’t see Harlan and the others, but they could see his every move—thanks to Evan Yang’s handiwork.
During this time, Evan Yang and Harlan’s group had plenty of time to prepare. They started designing an entrance in the direction Old Ghost of Blackmount was approaching.
Evan Yang prepared several attack and illusion arrays at the entrance, creating illusions to make Old Ghost of Blackmount think he was still trapped. When the time came, they’d catch him off guard.
Old Ghost of Blackmount had no idea what was happening inside. The further he went, the angrier he became: “Don’t think you can block my path with these formations! When I get out, I’ll skin you all alive!”
To Old Ghost of Blackmount, those inside were just weaker people and demons—once he broke their defensive arrays, he could attack them.
Time passed bit by bit. When Old Ghost of Blackmount finally broke the last formation, he laughed and tried to leave, but attacks erupted from all sides. He snorted, blocking the minor attacks, but just as he thought he’d broken through, a powerful force struck him from behind. As he reacted, more attacks came from all directions. With a shout, he suddenly vanished from Harlan’s attack range.
Seeing this, Evan Yang quickly removed the illusion array, spotting Old Ghost of Blackmount not far ahead, staring at them. “Trying to ambush me? Hmph, dream on. Good thing I came prepared.”
“Quick, fall back!” Evan Yang shouted in alarm, calling everyone into the cave. The group panicked, not daring to be careless, and hurriedly retreated. Old Ghost of Blackmount refused to let them escape and chased after them, but as soon as he caught up, the surrounding formations flared up again.
“What? Didn’t I break those already?” Old Ghost of Blackmount was shocked to see the formations reappear, finding it unbelievable.
Evan Yang was using the remnants of the formations to buy everyone a bit more time. Once inside the cave, he didn’t stop working. The others knew what he was doing, so they didn’t interfere and instead anxiously searched for solutions. After all, Old Ghost of Blackmount was a renowned and powerful demon in the Demon Realm.
“First layer, second layer—let’s see if you break them faster, or I set them up faster.” Evan Yang relied on his powerful divine sense to quickly arrange new formations, while saying to those behind him, “Think of something fast. I’m worried we’ll run out of materials soon and won’t be able to hold out much longer.”
They understood, but had no solution. Evan Yang set up dozens of formations, enough to hold for half an hour. He quickly said, “Looks like we can’t stay here for long.”
“Do you have any ideas?” Harlan asked.
“I’ll open a path. You organize your tribe,” Evan Yang said.
Harlan only knew the cave’s entrance was blocked and didn’t understand what Evan Yang meant by opening a path.
With a wave of Evan Yang’s hand, a tunnel appeared in the ground—an earth-attribute technique. Evan Yang said, “Go, quick!”
Harlan didn’t dare hesitate and immediately ordered, “Everyone, follow!”
Richard and the others, along with the demons, followed behind. Harris was among them, still being watched.
“Damn it, I won’t let that guy escape.” Seeing Evan Yang leading the way, Harris grew angrier and more hateful. If Evan hadn’t brought Happy back, things wouldn’t have turned out like this.
But the tunnel was narrow, surrounded by their tribe, so escaping was impossible—he could only wait for a chance.
After about fifteen minutes, Evan Yang and the group had traveled far. Evan opened a tunnel to the surface and said, “This isn’t a long-term solution. Let’s split up.”
Harlan agreed with Evan’s plan. He said, “You all go. If I survive, I’ll keep leading you.” “Chief!” a group of loyal demons called out.
“Go now,” Harlan ordered. Some timid ones fled first, while the braver demons lingered before reluctantly leaving. Harris and his allies weren’t watched anymore and quickly found a way out.
Only Harlan, Happy, Evan Yang, and a few companions remained.
“Senior, you should take Happy and leave as well,” Evan Yang said.
“What about you?” Harlan knew Old Ghost of Blackmount was targeting Evan Yang, and if Evan was caught, it would be dangerous. “We’ll leave too, but I have something to ask you first,” Evan Yang said.
“Oh? What is it?” Harlan asked curiously.
“Senior, do you know of a passage to the Immortal Realm? I mean one that isn’t only open every few years, but can be used at any time,” Evan Yang asked.
Harlan frowned. “Why are you asking?”
Evan Yang changed his appearance and said, “Actually, we’re humans.”
Seeing Evan Yang’s true form, Harlan was surprised. He sighed, “So that’s how it is. Looks like I’ll have to send you at least part of the way—otherwise you really won’t find it.”
“Oh? You know the way, senior?” Evan Yang asked in surprise.
“Yes. Let’s go, we’ll talk as we travel,” Harlan said.
“How far is it?” Evan Yang asked.
“If I fly, it’ll take several days at my speed. For you, it might take over ten,” Harlan said.
Evan Yang thought for a moment and said, “Just give me the general direction, senior. I’ll bring everyone over, and once it’s safe, I’ll let everyone out.”
“You want to?” Harlan looked at Evan Yang, puzzled.
So Evan Yang explained the tower and Meteor Flight Art.
