Assault from Both Sides, Crisis Closing In

2/14/2026

"Enough with the nonsense. I'm just waiting to kill you, leave this hellhole, and go have a drink." The man snorted coldly.

Evan Yang smiled. "In such a hurry? Fine, let's get started."

With that, the two of them began their fierce battle. Evan Yang doubled his speed, and his gauntlets were already equipped.

Evan's sudden burst of speed stunned the peak-stage expert, who muttered to himself, "Wasn't he supposed to be only mid-stage? How is he this fast!"

Seeing Evan's speed almost surpassing his own, the man's expression changed drastically.

Noticing the man wasn't using a speed-boosting flying sword, Evan sneered, "You're really arrogant. That arrogance is why you'll die before everyone else."

"You lured me here on purpose?" the man exclaimed in shock.

"You figured it out? Too bad it's already too late. You insist on killing me, so you'd better be prepared. You're the first peak-stage Out-of-Body cultivator I've killed. I don't know how you contact the Ninefold Palace, but pass this on for me: If people don't mess with me, I won't mess with them. But if they do, I'll destroy them!" Evan laughed.

Hearing Evan's tone, the man sensed something was wrong. Realizing he would surely lose if this continued, he quickly tried to retreat from Evan's attack range.

Without his flying sword, he couldn't outrun Evan. Evan, with his Spirit-Draining Box, quickly caught up and smashed the distracted peak-stage Out-of-Body expert into the ground with a heavy punch.

Looking at the corpse, Evan Yang sighed, "If you had fought me head-on, maybe I wouldn't have been able to beat you."

Evan knew the reason he managed to injure a Great Perfection-level expert so easily this time was because the opponent lost his will to fight and just wanted to escape, giving Evan the opening to kill him.

Soon after, Evan left the area. News of Evan killing an Out-of-Body Great Perfection expert quickly spread among the Ninefold Palace and the Genius Pavilion.

The news shocked many people. As for Ninefold Palace, they realized how serious the problem was and immediately raised the bounty by another two thousand points.

That extra two thousand points prompted some experts beyond the Out-of-Body Realm to set out for Prodigy Star.

Meanwhile, the Black Hand Syndicate also issued orders, determined to eliminate Evan before he grows any stronger.

Inside the Genius Pavilion, Elder Mu and Reed Kong both showed worried expressions.

"That kid just can't kill a little less. Now Ninefold Palace has sent people three realms above him. At this rate, even with luck, he'll end up dead." Reed Kong paced anxiously.

"It's truly beyond my expectations. I didn't think he'd reach mid-stage Out-of-Body and even take down Great Perfection. Even spending huge effort to kill someone two stages above him is impressive." Elder Mu sighed.

"Elder Mu, you really have to help him. If this keeps up, he's doomed." Reed Kong said anxiously.

“How did he know I was here?” Seeing that the man was heading straight for him at a speed even faster than peak Out-of-Body experts, Evan was shocked.

Watching the man's speed, Evan could only guess that the other party had already discovered him long ago, and that his strength surpassed the Out-of-Body Realm.

Evan knew he was strong, but he wasn’t foolish enough to fight head-on with someone stronger than Out-of-Body Realm. Besides, he knew nothing about the next realm—fighting blindly could only end badly for him.

So Evan immediately turned and fled.

The man behind him was startled when Evan noticed him and quickly gave chase.

As the chase continued, Evan had to push his speed to the limit, but the pursuer was closing in fast. Soon, Evan’s divine sense detected another presence—this one also spotted him and rushed over.

“No way, two of them?” Evan exclaimed in shock.

Now Evan was really in trouble—the two had already blocked his escape route.

In the end, Evan found himself caught between them. The two men exchanged a smile before turning their attention to Evan in the middle.

The first man who had chased Evan spoke up, “Kid, your speed is impressive. No wonder you wiped out those thirty guys before.”

“Who are you?” Evan asked calmly.

“Us? You should have guessed—we’re from Ninefold Palace. I’m Orrin Proudmoon, Star Lord of Moonpride Star, and he’s the Star Lord of Spirit-Eagle Star. You killed my people and still dare to act arrogant? If you hadn’t slaughtered Ninefold Palace personnel here, I wouldn’t have known you’d come to Prodigy Star.” Orrin laughed.

“Moonpride Star?” Evan thought for a moment, finally recalling it as the fourth-class planet above Northridge Star—Moonpride Star.

“What’s wrong? Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten already?” Orrin smiled at Evan’s expression.

“I haven’t forgotten. I just didn’t expect you to come here.” Evan replied.

“If we hadn’t come, those guys wouldn’t stand a chance against you.” Orrin sneered.

“Are you here to kill me, or capture me?” Evan asked.

“What do you think?” Orrin laughed.

Evan stood motionless, lost in thought.

Seeing Evan silent, Orrin sneered, “Watch how I take you down.”

With that, Orrin lunged forward, trying to grab Evan.

Evan dodged with a flash, appearing on the other side. Orrin noticed and reached out to grab him, but Evan vanished into thin air.

His sudden disappearance stunned both Star Lords.

“He vanished?” Spirit-Eagle Star Lord muttered suspiciously.

“There are reports that he has many treasures. This must be one of them,” Orrin replied.

“So what do we do now?” Spirit-Eagle Star Lord asked.

“Spread your divine sense and lock down the area. I don’t believe he can hide forever.” Orrin snorted.

The two then expanded their divine sense to lock down the surroundings.

Evan’s Luminous Armor had limited duration. Seeing they weren’t leaving, he grew anxious and frustrated—at mid-stage Out-of-Body, he could only maintain it for a dozen breaths at most.

As soon as they released their divine sense, Evan was forced to reappear and quickly absorb spiritual power. The two tried to catch him, but Evan vanished again.

“Looks like his treasure has a limitation. Let’s just wait here.” Orrin said suspiciously, seeing Evan disappear again.

Spirit-Eagle Star Lord nodded, and soon Evan appeared again, only to vanish once more.

After five or six cycles, Evan grew helpless—if he kept this up, he’d soon drain his spiritual power and be left at their mercy.

Faced with this predicament, Evan decided to risk it all.

He soon reappeared, this time without using Luminous Armor, and threw a punch straight at Orrin.

Orrin snorted, meeting Evan’s punch head-on. Both retreated, feeling a numb pain in their hands.

“Orrin, are you alright?” Spirit-Eagle Star Lord asked, seeing Orrin pull back his hand.

“I’m fine. Looks like his gauntlets are impressive treasures too.” Orrin stared at Evan’s gloves.

Evan was frustrated—his opponent’s punch was so powerful that his hand still hurt.

“Let’s join forces and finish him off,” Spirit-Eagle Star Lord suggested.

“No need. I can handle it myself.” Orrin waved his hand.

Evan felt immense pressure—he wasn’t strong enough to take on either of them right now.

For the sake of his pride, Orrin began attacking Evan.

A flash of light shot from Orrin’s fingertips, a beam aimed straight at Evan.

Evan didn’t know how dangerous the light was, so he didn’t dare block it—he could only dodge. But the beam was extremely fast.

Several beams quickly grazed Evan’s skin, burning him. He was shocked—if this continued, he’d be seriously injured if not dead. Orrin was also surprised: a mid-stage Out-of-Body cultivator hit by his attack was only scorched.

He didn’t realize Evan’s body was far tougher than ordinary people.

The crisis pressed in on Evan from all sides. He used every technique he could—except the Phantom Firebird, whose strength was too low; he worried it would be instantly destroyed by the strange light.

Throughout the ordeal, Evan kept pushing himself, determined to survive.

He refused to give up, knowing that only his own strength could protect him.

He gritted his teeth, preparing to gamble everything on his next move.

The two Star Lords pressed in from both sides, their attacks growing fiercer.

Evan dodged and countered, his movements growing more desperate.

He activated his gauntlets, channeling his spiritual power for another stacked-force punch.

Orrin and Spirit-Eagle Star Lord reacted instantly, blocking his attack and launching their own.

The battle reached a fever pitch, spiritual energy exploding across the landscape.

Evan’s body was battered, but his resolve remained unbroken.

He knew that if he faltered for even a moment, he’d be finished.

He steeled himself, determined to break through their encirclement.

With a roar, Evan unleashed another stacked-force punch, aiming to create a gap.

The two Star Lords were caught off guard, momentarily forced back.

Evan seized the chance, darting toward the opening.

But Orrin reacted quickly, sending another beam of light to cut off Evan’s escape.

Evan twisted midair, narrowly avoiding the attack.

He landed, gasping for breath, his spiritual power nearly depleted.

The two Star Lords closed in, their expressions cold and ruthless.

Evan’s heart pounded—he was out of options, but refused to surrender.

He braced himself for the final clash, determined to fight to the very end.
