Lily Bai and Nine Li finished touring the Demon Emperor's Palace, then set off together to explore Wildlands City.
Wildlands City was lively and bustling.
The streets were full of demons in human form, and some were half-human, half-demon hybrids that looked downright bizarre.
Shops lined both sides of the street, with vendors shouting nonstop.
The things they sold were rarely seen in human or celestial markets.
Feathers, bones, Fairy Fruit, Spirit Beast meat, and all kinds of Soul Cores—just to name a few.
Some were for body-refining, some for alchemy, and others for artifact forging—materials you could hardly find anywhere else.
And the prices? Shockingly cheap!
Lily's eyes sparkled and her breathing quickened—she wished she could buy everything on the street.
She whipped out an empty Storage Pouch and started shopping stall by stall, buying a huge pile of all sorts of weird and wonderful things.
“This cinnabar is so pure—perfect for drawing talismans! And this white fox tail will make a gorgeous, cozy scarf for my mom! This leather, shoes for Little Shrimp; this turtle shell, for Master; these medicinal ingredients, all for Luna…”
Nine Li watched from the side, asking, “Senior Sister, did you bring enough spirit jade? You’re buying so much.”
“Plenty!” Lily whipped out another Storage Pouch and waved it in front of him. “I’ve got tons of spirit jade! I even have a few pieces of supreme-grade spirit jade—enough to buy out the whole street!”
“That’s awesome! I want that one, Senior Sister, buy it for me!”
“No problem! Whatever catches your eye, just grab it—your Senior Sister is loaded!”
“I knew following Senior Sister was the right move!” Nine Li beamed.
The two strolled along, shopping as they went, until they walked into a shop.
After scanning the place, Lily’s eye was caught by a Signet Ring.
“Wow, this…” She picked up the ring. “This is supreme-grade black-gold bone! At least ten thousand years old. Boss, how much?”
“This one? Ten pieces of high-grade spirit jade,” the shopkeeper replied.
So cheap!
Lily didn’t even bother haggling—she just pulled out her money pouch, ready to pay.
But out of nowhere, a slender tentacle suddenly whipped in and snatched her pouch right out of her hand!
And then—gone. Vanished without a trace.
Lily froze for three seconds, then turned to Nine Li: “Someone just stole my money pouch!”
Nine Li: “Track it down, quick!”
“Ugh!” Lily brandished her Rune Staff and began tracking her pouch.
She’d once managed to fish someone out of the sea just by tracking a trace on Nine Li’s clothes.
If it was her own money pouch, of course she could find it.
They followed the trail all the way to a house built of black stone in the city.
Lily kicked the door open and marched inside.
Inside was a female catfish demon.
She had an enormous mouth, a face full of spots, and breasts so ridiculously huge they looked like two pumpkins stuffed down her shirt.
Her mouth gaped open as she tossed Lily’s spirit jade in like candy, crunching it to pieces.
“Catfish demon! Give me back my stuff!” Lily drew her sword and pointed it at her.
The catfish demon shot her a sideways glance, completely unafraid, grinned provocatively, and picked up another piece to pop into her mouth.
This time, it was one of the supreme-grade spirit jade pieces Luna Lian had given her.
“Ah! My spirit jade! Put it down!” Lily stabbed forward with her sword.
But here in the Primeval Demon Wilds, even a random demon’s cultivation was nothing to sneeze at.
Lily’s attack missed—the catfish demon vanished in a flash.
When she reappeared, the supreme-grade spirit jade was already in her mouth, crunching away.
Lily’s heart bled as she pulled out Entwined Heart and started to play.
