In the crowd, Marshal Silver's eyes narrowed to slits, the awkwardness on his face vanishing, replaced by a cold, steely gaze.
"Someone's coming?" Old Master Gale asked, puzzled. "Who is it?"
The surrounding guests were all at a loss.
"It's nothing, everyone. Please excuse me for a moment," Marshal Silver said.
Though he said this, Marshal Silver had already started striding through the congratulating crowd toward the main gate.
Outside the gate, Monkey had also stopped, took a deep breath, and grinned. "He's already sensed us."
"He?" Prince Adrian looked baffled. "Great Sage, who’s inside?"
Barry Bear, Louis Quickpaw, and even Tripitaka exchanged glances.
"Someone you all ought to know," Monkey said with a slow, sly smile.
Meanwhile, still in the courtyard, Marshal Silver was already burning with anxiety.
He forced himself to keep a normal pace, acting like an ordinary person as he rushed toward the gate. The moment he slipped out of sight, his figure blurred and vanished.
In the next instant, he appeared before Monkey, staring him down.
"Why are you here?"
"Marshal Silver!" Prince Adrian, Barry Bear, and Louis Quickpaw exclaimed, all stepping back in alarm.
Except for Prince Adrian, both Barry Bear and Louis Quickpaw had fought in many battles against the Heavenly River Fleet. How could they not recognize Flower-Fruit Mountain’s old nemesis?
In a flash, Prince Adrian’s hand was on his sword hilt, ready to draw. Barry Bear gripped his black-tasseled spear, poised to strike. Even Louis Quickpaw, the weakest in combat, secretly clutched a dagger hidden in his sleeve. Every nerve was taut.
A fight could break out at any moment!
Amid this drawn-bow atmosphere, Tripitaka remained motionless on horseback, his gaze shifting between Monkey and Marshal Silver.
Monkey strolled forward, feet apart, standing squarely before Marshal Silver. He tilted his head back, grinning at the man in red. "Marshal Silver, it’s been a long time."
Marshal Silver’s eyes suddenly trembled.
