Jade Flute Prince

12/2/2025

Noah Duanmu's expression hardened. He had always known Prince Damien, the Ghost King, was anything but simple. Now, it seemed he was far more than that—such a commanding presence couldn't possibly be mere posturing.

Damien Gray's concern for the Cloud Guild only piqued his curiosity further. But in the end, he sighed and said, "I'm not someone who forgets kindness!" He was keenly aware that he and Muriel Murong owed their happiness together to the Cloud Guild's protection—he would never turn against them!

Besides, he had always preferred a carefree life. These complicated matters were best left alone; once involved, it would be hard to extricate himself. Still, if the Grandmaster's Estate needed his help, he would certainly lend a hand!

Damien Gray didn't mind whether Noah Duanmu suspected his identity. Noah was clever—he trusted he would make the right choice.

It wasn't yet time for his and Morgan Shangguan's identities to be revealed. That's why he stopped Noah Duanmu from digging any further.

Damien Gray returned to the Cloud Guild, just in time to see Morgan Shangguan earnestly teaching Julian Ji how to pursue Marjorie Wan. Morgan remained as calm and composed as ever, while Julian Ji looked rather perplexed. His gaze toward Morgan was filled with confusion. Truthfully, he wanted to be with Marjorie right now, but Morgan insisted on teaching him some 'techniques,' so he could only listen patiently.

Yet the more he listened, the more uncertain he felt. Judging by Morgan's demeanor, these seemed to be her own tried-and-true methods. But he couldn't imagine someone as ethereal as Morgan ever using such 'techniques' to win a woman's heart—this was pure mischief!

Damien Gray leaned casually against the doorway, listening to Morgan's gentle voice. The curve of his lips grew wider and wider, until he couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh. Seeing him return, Morgan waved Julian Ji away.

Julian Ji turned and left, finally breathing a sigh of relief—he was free at last!

Damien Gray walked over, pulled Morgan into his arms, and kissed her. With a smile, he teased, "Mo'er, how could you so casually teach my tricks to someone else?"

Morgan relaxed in his arms, utterly unapologetic as she said, "Ghostmaster, surely you're not that petty? If it's useful, why not let Julian Ji borrow it for a while? Even someone as strong-willed as me was won over by your tricks—I'm sure they'll work on Marjorie Wan too."

"We need all hands on deck right now. If Xiao Rou pulls herself together sooner, things will be much easier for me!" In truth, with Damien Gray away, Morgan found herself a bit bored—hence her sudden interest in teaching Julian Ji the art of wooing women.

Damien Gray was about to say something when Morgan suddenly frowned, her expression turning uneasy.

Damien looked at her anxiously. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Seeing Morgan clutch her belly, Damien hurriedly asked, "Does your stomach hurt?" Only now did he regret not bringing Ethan Gu along—he should've taken medical training more seriously!

Morgan shook her head, frowning. "No..." She patted him reassuringly, then smiled, "If you keep staring like that, you'll bore a hole right through my stomach!"

"You still have the energy to joke?" Damien remained tense, gently stroking her belly. "Seriously, what's wrong?"

Morgan's frown lingered, clearly still uncomfortable. Suddenly, she asked, "Damien, where's Quentin Hua's jade pendant?"

"Jade pendant?" Of course he didn't carry Quentin Hua's pendant around all the time. He quickly reached out and shook her Spirit Gourd vigorously, sending a group of little ghosts spinning. They hadn't even steadied themselves before the cold aura scared them into absolute stillness.

Hearing they were to fetch the jade pendant, the little ghosts rushed out in a swarm, terrified they'd be scattered into oblivion if they were too slow!

"Mo'er..." Damien Gray held her tenderly, regret flooding his heart. He shouldn't have let her become pregnant in the first place.

Morgan smiled, comforting him. "Don't worry, I'm really fine. The baby just got a bit restless all of a sudden—maybe... something happened to Quentin Hua!"

Hearing this, Damien couldn't help but frown, then glared fiercely at her belly. This little rascal wasn't even born yet and was already tormenting her over a man—once she was born, he'd definitely give her a lesson!

Morgan chuckled softly. "Damien, you're scaring her! She just hasn't learned to control her emotions yet." Still, she was careful not to harm her; otherwise, it wouldn't be just a little discomfort.

The little ghosts soon brought the jade pendant. Morgan held it in her hand, and only then did the tiny life inside her gradually calm down.

Damien frowned. "The Lotus Sect has been far too quiet lately!"

Morgan mused, "Actually, Quentin Hua isn't so bad!" Noticing Damien's darkening expression, she added with a smile, "I just think he'd make a good son-in-law, and the baby seems to like him too!"

Damien snorted. "If he lives that long, I have no objections!" His principle was simple—if Morgan was happy, he was happy, so he didn't mind having a son-in-law almost his own age!

And so, without consulting the parties involved, the two of them had already decided someone else's lifelong fate!

Morgan had always hoped for a daughter—to redeem past regrets and bring home a son-in-law. Quentin Hua was certainly a challenge, but if she succeeded, she'd feel quite accomplished!

Later, she realized how wrong she was—Quentin Hua was far too easy to win over! Of course, it was mostly because her own baby was such a mischievous, cunning little thing!

Afterward, Damien had someone investigate Quentin Hua's whereabouts—he couldn't have a son-in-law dying before his daughter was even born!

"How is the Lotus Sect Master?" The voice sounded both concerned and teasing, with a hint of provocation.

Quentin Hua looked up at the beautiful woman before him, lips curving into a smile. "Thank you for your concern. I'm quite well!" His slightly upturned phoenix eyes seemed always ready to charm.

Violet Snow narrowed her eyes at him, smiling. "It seems our master isn't very satisfied with you, Lotus Sect Master. An event as important as the Martial Arts Summit should be yours to handle, shouldn't it?"
