Deputy Commander Lin Hawk had been struggling against Quinn Shepherd’s seventy-two linked array diagrams. Quinn first pinned him down with Primordial Magnetism, then unleashed the full power of the arrays, battering Lin Hawk until he was covered in wounds.
But Lin Hawk was still a god at heart. Though he’d slashed his own cultivation down to the Revered-God realm, his insight and experience remained—he was simply caught off guard by Quinn Shepherd’s attack.
He recovered quickly. The power he’d severed was refined into a blazing sun, and with that sun’s force, breaking Quinn’s arrays wasn’t difficult for him.
Even Village Chief’s sword diagram couldn’t withstand the might of Lin Hawk’s sun—let alone Quinn Shepherd.
But at that perfect moment, Zechariah Lee’s saber flashed—a single stroke, and Lin Hawk was beheaded!
Only Victor Bloom could truly keep pace with Quinn Shepherd’s thinking; Zechariah Lee couldn’t. That’s why Quinn set up the formation in advance, transforming his cultivation and divine arts into an array to ambush Lin Hawk.
The seventy-two array diagrams were immensely powerful, even surpassing Quinn’s own direct attacks. But arrays are lifeless—they could only restrain Lin Hawk for a moment, not kill him. That’s where Zechariah Lee came in.
The seventy-two diagrams existed solely to create an opening for Zechariah Lee.
Zechariah Lee couldn’t calmly weave through Quinn’s arrays to seize that chance. If it were Victor Bloom, he’d grasp the inner workings of the formations as Quinn set them up and snatch the opportunity with ease.
So Quinn’s final array was a teleportation formation, carrying Zechariah Lee through the array’s power and delivering the perfect opportunity right into his hands.
That’s why Zechariah Lee said Quinn Shepherd had already done ninety percent of the work in this battle against a god.
The instant Zechariah Lee slew Lin Hawk, the blazing sun spun out of control. Fire surged in every direction like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf everything. Quinn Shepherd, using the last of his power, activated the teleportation array to rescue Zechariah.
A sea of flames rushed in, about to swallow Quinn. Suddenly, a beam of teleportation light swept past him—he vanished in a flash.
In the next moment, the two appeared outside the corridor. Pillars of fire roared out from within, stretching hundreds of miles—an astonishing sight.
After a while, the fire pillars faded away.
Quinn Shepherd and Zechariah Lee staggered to the ground. Zechariah, tense and having exerted himself too much, trembled all over—even his demon saber shook uncontrollably.
Quinn, drained of power, was too weak to stand and had to sit on the ground to rest.
Zechariah Lee peeked into the corridor—inside the ship, scattered flames still flickered.
But then, the aroma of roasted meat wafted over, making their mouths water.
Zechariah Lee swallowed and glanced at Quinn Shepherd, probing, “Chief Quinn, you’ve eaten Brood-Hen Dragon before, right? But have you ever tasted one at the god realm?”
