"Someone's causing trouble? There are actually people bold enough to stir up trouble on my turf—clearly they've got a death wish!" Evan Chu snapped angrily.
"Calm down, Evan. Let me and Xiaojiao handle whatever's going on. You're the star today—you can't be losing your temper," Nolan Nangong said.
Evan glanced at Nolan and said, "Then I'll leave it to you two. With you and the Sect Master here, I'm a lot more at ease."
The group immediately walked out of the grand hall. At that moment, three old men and a middle-aged man appeared above Frostbane Imperial Palace. Evan didn't recognize the three elders, but he knew the middle-aged man right away—it was Zane Zuo from Coldshroud Imperial Palace.
However, the aura radiating from the three elders was bizarre—ancient, heavy, and mysterious. No doubt, these three were experts, and not just any experts—truly formidable ones.
"Nolan, do you know who these three are? What's their background?" Evan asked.
"No idea, but they're definitely not here with good intentions. We need to be careful—don't let them wreck your palace. Who would've thought someone would stir up trouble on your wedding day? No doubt Zane Zuo called these old bastards here," Nolan said.
"Evan Chu, you yellow-haired brat from Frostbane Imperial Palace, get out here! I want to see what makes you think you can found a new power in the Immortal Realm. The Immortal Realm has its own rules—how can you just break them as you please? Today, Frostbane Imperial Palace must be destroyed!" one of the elders declared, full of arrogant authority.
At this moment, Evan was dressed in full groom's attire. In a flash, he soared into the sky, but before he could say a word, the Emerald Immortal Empress's voice rang out in his mind: "Master, be careful—these three are nothing but trouble. I can't believe they're still alive."
"Emerald, you know who these old guys are? Are they ancient Immortals?" Evan asked.
"That's right. They're figures from my own era. I always wondered why these three never ascended to the God Realm, but now I think I understand—the aura leaking from them tells me everything. They've already been demonized; there's a faint demonic qi on them. In other words, these three have become people of the Demonic Realm," the Emerald Immortal Empress said.
Hearing this, Evan was instantly shocked. The great war between the Demonic Realm and Immortal Realm was still three thousand years away, yet now, three powerful ancient Immortals had already become demon lackeys. The coming Immortal–Demon war was going to be a nightmare.
Evan's arrival caught the attention of the three ancient Immortals. Zane Zuo quietly told them, "That's the new Palace Lord of Frostbane Imperial Palace. The Emerald Immortal Empress's treasure ended up in his hands. I'm sure the Firmament Light Mirror you're looking for is on him."
Though Zane Zuo spoke softly, Evan still overheard him. So Zane had used the Emerald Immortal Empress's treasure as bait to lure out these three old undead. If Evan didn't kill this bastard, he'd never be able to swallow his rage.
"Kid, I didn't expect you to be the groom today. Why not bring your pretty bride out and let me take a look at her? If I find her pleasing, maybe I'll let you keep your corpse whole. Otherwise, I'll wipe you out—body and soul," one of the elders sneered.
Evan was always cocky, but he never thought there'd be someone even cockier than him—someone whose arrogance could scare people to death. For guys like this, there's only one solution: death. They must die!
Nolan Nangong and Jade Qin also flew into the air. Seeing the anger flash across Evan's face, Nolan immediately said, "May I ask what brings the three of you to Frostbane Imperial Palace today? It's my brother's wedding—if you're here for the celebration, you're welcome. If you're here to make trouble, as Domain Lord, I'll see this through to the end."
"Kid, not bad—you've reached late-stage Immortal Emperor. But in my eyes, you're still no match for me. The three of us came today because we heard you're marrying the three most beautiful Immortal Fairies in the realm. Since there are three of us, those fairies should become our women instead.
And another thing—I heard you got the Emerald Immortal Empress's treasure, so of course we're here to take a share. But I know you won't agree to our terms, so we'll just take the most direct route: we'll kill all of you, seize the brides, and take the treasures," the elder said.
Evan hadn't spoken since flying up, but now he had no choice. These three old bastards were shameless enough to try and steal his women—ancient Immortals, no less, with millions of years behind them—and they even wanted to destroy Frostbane Imperial Palace. This was beyond tolerable.
"You three old dogs, did you really think Frostbane Imperial Palace is a place you can run wild? Ancient Immortals might be impressive, but in front of me, you're just corpses waiting to happen. Now that you've become demon lackeys, you're enemies of everyone in the Immortal Realm. Don't think you can hide it forever—your demonic qi already gave you away," Evan Chu said, calm and unyielding.
His words stunned everyone present. Even Nolan Nangong and Jade Qin looked at Evan in confusion, unable to understand why he'd say such a thing.
The three elders also froze for a moment, surprised that someone could see through their true identities. That made them even more determined to kill him. "Kid, you know too much. Today I'll deal with you myself," one of them said.
As soon as he finished speaking, the elder flashed forward, striking at Evan with a palm. Nolan instantly moved to intercept, meeting the attack head-on. Their palms collided with a deafening thunderclap.
Space shook violently as energy storms spread in all directions, but none of it reached the buildings below.
Both Nolan and the elder were blasted back several dozen meters by the recoil before steadying themselves. That single exchange showed just how powerful these ancient Immortals were.
Evan said, "Nolan, Sect Master, you two handle Zane Zuo. Leave these three to me—and make sure you protect Yvonne and the others."
His words shocked them even more. These three old freaks were insanely strong, and Evan actually wanted to take all three on by himself. That was just crazy—and way too dangerous.
"Lin Feng, that's not a good idea. All three are late-stage Immortal Emperors—I'm worried you won't be able to handle them. Let me and Xiaojiao join forces against them; you deal with Zane Zuo," Nolan said.
"No need to say more. They're strong, but I'm no pushover either. Just trust me!" Evan said.
With a thought, Evan summoned Goldwing, shrinking the Golden-Winged Roc to a manageable size and stepping onto its back. "You three old dogs want the Firmament Light Mirror? Well, it's right here on me—come and get it if you dare!"
Evan waved the Firmament Light Mirror in front of them, then stashed it in his storage ring. He had Goldwing shoot off toward the distance—he didn't want the coming battle to destroy Frostbane Imperial Palace.
The appearance of Goldwing left the three elders stunned. No one had ever managed to tame the king of birds, the Golden-Winged Roc, as a pet before—this kid was seriously abnormal.
But when they saw the Firmament Light Mirror in his hand, their greed was instantly ignited. That mirror was lethal to demonic beings—the Demon Lord of the Demonic Realm had spent ages searching for it just to destroy it...
