Chapter 697: Spellmark

On the other side of the teleportation array, just imagining it was enough to know how furious Oracis must be—especially after he went all out and summoned a Gate of Purgatory. At least one or two Level 30-plus hellish creatures would crawl out of that thing, sending Oracis’ rage into overdrive.

Heading back now would be nothing short of a death wish.

"Let’s move."

Nightfall Gorge might be bizarre, but at least there’s a sliver of hope for survival. The alternative? Guaranteed death. Leon weighed the options for a moment before deciding to push forward.

Even the Dark Elves had switched from enemies to temporary allies. At least Elsa was smart enough to realize that sticking with Leon’s group was her only shot at survival. Their sole bargaining chip was knowing the map and the exit’s location—nothing more.

Nightfall Gorge is basically a long, narrow canyon—maps don’t really help much here. Just keep walking straight. The exit’s somewhere at the far end; if you’re confident enough to look, you’ll probably find it.

So Elsa knew perfectly well: if she wanted to survive, she had to stay on Leon’s good side—the obvious leader here.

The group rested at the entrance to Nightfall Gorge, waiting until everyone had recovered their mana before officially stepping inside.

The moment Leon stepped in, he could feel the weird, sinister aura thick in the air. Hard to describe—just pure evil. Overhead, a layer of black clouds hung low, and even the glow from the bioluminescent plants seemed to dim.
