The Snake's World Is Hard to Understand
"Hey! Cutie? I'm talking to you!" Grace called out again, "Come here! What are you staring at the Vermilion Order for?"
Vermilion Order?
He’d been a general in Blue Moon Kingdom for years, so of course he’d heard of the Vermilion Order.
It was the blood-sacrifice spirit artifact of the Vermilion Kingdom’s emperor—seeing the Order was like seeing the emperor. With it, you could even command the Vermilion Kingdom’s army!
Emperor Tuoba Hong actually gave something this important to Grace?
Evan Xiao suddenly opened his mouth and bit at the Vermilion Order.
Bite it to pieces!
"What are you doing?" Grace yanked the Antler Serpent’s neck. "This is super important, you can’t just chew it up!"
Is it really that important?
Is he really that important to you?
Grace casually put the Vermilion Order in a box, locked it, grabbed the Antler Serpent, and walked out of the Sanctum Tower. She asked, "Cutie, tell me, are you really an Antler Serpent?"
I’m not.
He stared at her coldly.
Is he really that important to you?
You actually went and locked up that ridiculous Vermilion Order?
"You must be an Antler Serpent!" Grace studied him. "You’re prettier than the others, and you’ve got extra fluff, but you’re still an Antler Serpent!"
When you grabbed me just now, you squeezed so hard—were you afraid I’d break the Vermilion Order?
"How are you so smart? And you’re allowed to train with that dragon, so I bet you’re someone special..." Grace mused. "Are you the Antler Serpent King’s kid?"
Hmph! Keep guessing!
Evan Xiao spun around proudly, leapt out of the Sanctum, turned into a streak of black light, and left.
Grace chased after him out of the Sanctum, but he was already gone.
She stood there for ages, muttering in confusion, "Is he sulking? Throwing a tantrum?"
Was it just because she wouldn’t let him bite the Vermilion Order?
The world of snakes is seriously hard to understand...
She guessed the Antler Serpent probably went to the General’s Manor again.
So, she went to the General’s Manor to find him, planning to coax him. (Grace)
And maybe... sneak in a little private time with Evan Xiao, hehe...
When she arrived, Lü Xin said the general wasn’t back yet, but the Antler Serpent was definitely there.
He led her to the forbidden garden.
On the way, Grace asked, "Lü Xin, how’s Senior Shenlong? Is he around?"
"He’s already been exposed, so I doubt he’ll come back easily anymore," Lü Xin replied.
"Oh, I see..." Grace felt a little disappointed—she hadn’t even gotten a good look at him!
As soon as she went in, she saw Cutie, a lonely little snake curled up by the pond.
His head drooped listlessly on his body, looking really unhappy.
Plus, the weather was gloomy, which made everything feel even sadder.
"Cutie," Grace called.
Cutie glanced at her and lifted his body.
"Cutie, are you mad at me?" Grace walked over and squatted in front of him.
Cutie turned his head away coldly, ignoring her.
"Don’t be mad!" Grace poked him. "That token was a gift from a friend. I owe him a lot, and I want to keep the token in case I ever get a chance to repay him, to make it up to him."
You owe him?
You two live in totally different worlds—when did you ever owe him anything?
And a lot, a lot?
"If you really like it, I’ll let you play with it, okay? But you have to promise me you won’t chew it up, alright?" (Grace)
I just want to chew it up.
"Cutie!" Grace picked him up. "What’s wrong with you today? You’re usually so sweet and obedient—what’s gotten into you?"
