I quietly gazed at the Ninefold Abyss. Thinking it over, I now understood Black Moon’s true intent—simple and clear. They wanted to use me to suppress the Yin-Yang World completely. This was obvious, because the will of Infernal Hell had already left with Ethan Zhang.
The Dark Banquet, Old Infernal Hell, and the three factions of the Immortality Society are all making their own plans. Using me to wipe them out is the best move.
Even though I knew, I could only follow Black Moon’s plan. Maybe this was exactly what Yinchou Jian wanted to see. What I need now is to truly master power. Only with power can I protect the peace of the Yin-Yang World.
“There’s nothing we can do. Tong Ghost has vanished somewhere.”
Yin Ghost had already returned, and soon Resentful Ghost came back too. Neither of them found Tong Ghost.
Even Ninefold Abyss didn’t know where Tong Ghost had gone. For now, we could only go check the Yellow Springs. Zhu Tang should be there—I had that feeling.
We returned once again to Ten Tribunal Road, and Black Moon immediately came over.
“Did you find anything?”
I shook my head. Black Moon, a bit anxious, turned and walked away.
“Hurry up, Rachel Lan. If we find four or five ghost souls, that should be enough.”
“Is it really that urgent?”
Black Moon nodded.
“We can’t hold them back anymore. Although you see me here, my true body is in Infernal Hell. The wardens there are already planning to force open the gates and break into the living world.”
We could only quicken our pace. Honestly, Ten Tribunal Road is actually very long—over twenty kilometers—and you can only walk it. But now it felt effortless. I remembered the first time Wu Zuo brought me here; halfway through, I couldn’t go on, so Wu Zuo carried me to the Yellow Springs.
Now, I didn’t feel tired at all. I’d only been here once before, but the memory was vivid. That was before I was forced to attend the wedding—the only time I remember. I hadn’t stayed long before I was taken back, never got to study here. Maybe it was because of the hint from the Yellow Springs Stone. Just thinking about the Yellow Springs now made me instantly furious.
A cracking sound echoed. Ghost Fiend Star and Black Moon both turned to look at me. I hurried to calm myself. Cracks appeared in the space along Ten Tribunal Road. In that instant of emotional turmoil, my power naturally burst forth. I hadn’t realized before—just a surge of emotion could trigger my power. I’d never experienced this in the past.
“Your three instincts have started working perfectly, fully harmonizing your body. From now on, you’ll have to control this power yourself.”
I nodded, and we continued walking briskly. Soon, I saw the Yellow Springs. The old houses were still there, but now they were deserted. The people at the foot of the mountain were setting up wards to prevent future travelers from accidentally entering Ten Tribunal Road.
“So, are you here? The Saint who willingly stained himself black.”
Black Moon asked, and I nodded.
“Zhu Tang, please help me.”
I shouted loudly. At that moment, I sensed a faint aura coming from the circular plaza. I hurried forward with the other two.
“It should be over there.”
Ghost Fiend Star sensed it too. After passing through several large houses, we reached the circular plaza where the people of the Yellow Springs practiced. I saw the Yellow Springs Stone was still there, and Zhu Tang was inside it. I stared at the stone, puzzled—on its surface, I could see the silhouette of a black Vermilion Bird.
At that moment, a yellow mist rose from the Yellow Springs Stone. Gradually, Yellow Springs appeared before us. I walked over slowly.
“Rachel Lan, just break the stone directly. To protect it, I had to seal it here...”
With a loud bang, I didn’t hesitate at all—my fist smashed into Yellow Springs’ face. In an instant, a burst of explosive wind and fire shattered the Yellow Springs Stone, and Yellow Springs’ body was pierced, flying off into the distance.
“What are you doing, Rachel Lan!”
Yellow Springs got up, glaring at me in anger.
“Nothing, I just wanted to hit you.”
Yellow Springs stared in shock at the hole in his chest where I’d struck him—it wasn’t healing.
“What kind of power is this?”
Yellow Springs asked, but I shook my head—I didn’t know what this mixed power was either. Suddenly, black flames ignited, and I saw a black Vermilion Bird appear before me, its eyes gold and red.
“I didn’t expect you to inherit Lan Yin’s instinct so perfectly.”
I nodded. Zhu Tang slowly floated over.
“We can leave soon. Yellow Springs, you and Ninefold Abyss must find a way. You absolutely cannot let them open the gate.”
Though Yellow Springs looked displeased, he nodded. As Zhu Tang’s coexistence power touched me, I felt a chill sweep through my body, but it quickly vanished. As Zhu Tang entered my body, I unconsciously spread burning black wings.
Instantly, I felt a surge of power flowing through me. The wings gradually faded, and the feeling disappeared. But just as I tried to investigate, a flicker of flame shot from my hand—this wasn’t Zhu Tang’s original power.
“What’s going on?”
I glared at Yellow Springs in anger.
“Don’t ask anything. As long as it benefits you people of the Yellow Springs, Rachel Lan.”
With a swish, I moved in front of Yellow Springs, pointing a finger at his forehead.
“Speak. What’s going on? Or do you plan to blow yourself to pieces and return to Infernal Hell?”

“What are you trying to do? Don’t get too carried away, Rachel Lan.”
Just as Yellow Springs was about to act, a flash of silvery light burst forth. Yellow Springs’ eyes widened in surprise as he looked at me.
“I think you should stay here for a while instead of going back.”
As I spoke, Black Moon and Ghost Fiend Star came over. My mood was excellent.
“You’d better tell her. After all, Rachel Lan is completely different now.”
Black Moon spoke, and finally Yellow Springs told me the truth: it was Infernal Hellfire, a technique implanted by the will of Infernal Hell, joining Yellow Springs with the people of the Yellow Springs. It’s a move that sacrifices one’s own soul to draw out the Hellfire.
“We people of the Yellow Springs don’t need this power.”
I replied directly. Yellow Springs was still unable to move, completely restrained by my Corpse Realm power. I didn’t even know how I’d used it, but I knew for certain this power could subdue Yellow Springs.
“I understand. I’ll temporarily withdraw the Hellfire, but Zhu Tang has already absorbed a large amount of it. The power in your body can’t be purged.”
“That’s enough. Let’s go.”
I turned away as I spoke. Yellow Springs could move again and glared at me fiercely. I laughed—this was the feeling of having power. I’d never imagined I would become like this one day.
We arrived at the entrance to Ten Tribunal Road. I glanced back at the Yellow Springs, then spread black wings and floated into the air. Black winds lifted Ghost Fiend Star and Black Moon as well.
“What are you planning to do?”
Ghost Fiend Star stared at me in a daze. I smiled faintly.
“No one will ever return to this place again. That guy is dangerous—he’ll keep luring people to serve him. If Ten Tribunal Road no longer exists, the bridge connecting the Yellow Springs will disappear, and no one will ever come here again.”
A streak of crimson flame mixed with black fire, and I sped away, leaving a trail of fire behind me. The sound of shattering echoed as Ten Tribunal Road collapsed.
In less than a minute, I was back at the pass. Looking back, Ten Tribunal Road was vanishing in flames as it crumbled and broke apart.
Soon, crimson and black flames twisted together; Ten Tribunal Road had been completely burned away. The fire surged toward me and returned to my body.
“That really is a terrifying power. Your strength keeps growing.”
Ghost Fiend Star muttered.
I smiled faintly, withdrawing my power. This world will find peace, because I know the Divine Emperor and the others won’t act rashly after witnessing my strength.
“Next, are we heading to Putian Temple?”
Ghost Fiend Star asked, and I nodded. Now I wanted to go to Luoyin Temple and find Fiendshade; he might know where Griefshade had gone, and other things as well.
As for Spirit Serpent, the only one who might know how to enter the Hall of Ten Thousand Serpents is Yu Mingxuan. He was once the inheritor of the Snake Zodiac, but now the entire Nirvana Sect has disappeared overnight. I don’t know what Old Cat is planning, but he’s probably on the side of the Dark Banquet.
After boarding the helicopter again, I felt sleepy and fell asleep immediately.
In a daze, the sound of spinning rotors faded away. I saw a flash of violet, and soon realized I was standing on a lawn of tender green grass. On the distant horizon, a purple stream of air drifted by. I hurried toward it.
“Ouyang Meng, is that you?”
I woke up with a start—the helicopter had landed. It was just a brief dream, but now the sun was setting and night was about to fall.
