Conspiracy or Beast Tide

12/19/2025

Joe Di stepped into Stormhaven Island, where endless arcs, cascades, and even spheres of lightning crashed against him. Thanks to the Titan Body Technique, these thunderballs only left some scars on his body. The Stormhaven Island that nearly claimed his life in the past now posed no threat to him.

In just the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, Joe Di had already reached the spatial vortex in the center of Stormhaven Island. Following the vortex, he arrived in a vast expanse of void.

When he looked back, there was no trace of anything.

Stormhaven Island only allows exit, not entry. That’s just as well—the Quadrant Immortal Continent is far too weak. If a powerful cultivator were to enter, this immortal continent would likely be enslaved once again.

......

After only half a day, Joe Di stopped. Looking at the ruins before him, he sighed inwardly.

This was Outer Crucible City. Back when he and Moria Lane first arrived, the place was bustling—even a guild operated here. Decades had passed, and now, upon his return, it had become a wasteland.

He truly couldn’t fathom who would do such a thing. Having an immortal city in the void benefitted all cultivators; to destroy it was a senseless act that harmed everyone.

Joe Di stepped into the ruins, immediately sensing the wild aura of battle. Though some time had passed, the fighting intent lingered, undiminished.

Was this a beast tide attack?

Joe Di was extremely sensitive to the fundamental laws between heaven and earth; he quickly detected traces of battle.

Within his divine sense, a spaceship was speeding toward him. Joe Di stopped investigating and turned to watch the rapidly approaching vessel.

In just a dozen breaths, the ship landed atop the ruins.

"Who are you?" A gray-robed cultivator stepped off the ship and immediately fixed his gaze on Joe Di. His eyes quickly shifted to the Azure Veil Blade on Joe Di’s back—certain it was a supreme-grade immortal weapon.

Sensing that the Azure Veil Blade was a supreme immortal weapon, the cultivator’s eyes grew serious. Anyone who carried such a weapon—and wore it on their back—was certainly not weak.

Joe Di sized up the gray-robed cultivator. He was a fifth-tier Immortal King, with a faint aura of blood and slaughter still lingering—clearly, he’d just come from battle.

"I am Joe Di. And you? What brings you rushing to Outer Crucible City?" Joe Di asked calmly.

Sensing that Joe Di’s strength exceeded his own, the Immortal King immediately changed his attitude, clasped his fists, and said, "My name is Morgan Lenyon, from Twintrace Isle on Thundercrest Continent."

"Twintrace Isle?" Joe Di repeated in surprise, then asked, "How is Island Lord Eugene?"

"Senior, you know my master?" Morgan Lenyon immediately realized that Joe Di was a peer of his master. Given that, his cultivation was certainly far above his own.

Joe Di nodded. "I once had a pleasant exchange with Island Lord Eugene at a trade fair. Has your master returned?"

Morgan Lenyon hurriedly bowed again. "Senior, my master is trapped on Thundercrest Continent—his life hangs by a thread. I was chosen to seek help."

"You went to seek help? Your master is trapped?" Joe Di looked at Morgan Lenyon in confusion.

Eugene Young’s cultivation should be around the seventh tier of Immortal Emperor. Who could possibly trap such a powerful figure? Unless it was a grand array—yet Joe Di doubted anyone could match his or Old Crook’s arraycraft skills.

His own mastery of arrays came from the Ninth Prime Law, while Old Crook’s expertise likely stemmed from being an outsider to the Immortal Realm.

Besides, if Eugene Young was truly trapped, how could his disciple have escaped to seek help?

Morgan Lenyon said anxiously, "Thundercrest Continent’s protective array was suddenly torn apart by a void beast tide. Endless void fiends poured into Thundercrest Continent—half the continent is now under their control."

Joe Di was astonished—a void fiend tide invading an immortal continent? That sounded strange.

There were endless fiends in the void—if it was truly so easy for void fiends to tear through a continent’s array, that continent wouldn’t have lasted this long.

"Where are you planning to seek help?" Joe Di asked again.

"I went to Magic Garment Immortal Continent for help. After the beast tide entered Thundercrest Continent, the teleportation array was destroyed. The cultivators sent out for help had to use other means to escape," Morgan Lenyon said, his tone growing even more respectful.

"But you didn’t come to this place just to go to Magic Garment Immortal Continent."

Morgan Lenyon pointed deeper into the ruins. "This place was also destroyed by the beast tide. There used to be a teleportation array here that could send me near a city on Magic Garment Immortal Continent. I came to see if it could be repaired—if so, it would save me a lot of time."

Joe Di had already swept the area with his divine sense. He shook his head. "That array can’t be repaired. Your plan won’t work. I have another question: Did any Thundercrest Continent cultivators go to Cauldron Haven for help?"

Morgan Lenyon replied, "Yes, someone already went for help. And some strong cultivators from Cauldron Haven have gone to Thundercrest Continent."

"Which experts from Cauldron Haven went to help Thundercrest Continent?" Joe Di asked urgently.

Morgan Lenyon shook his head. "I don’t know."

Joe Di frowned in thought. This beast tide on Thundercrest Continent was strange. But as for Cauldron Haven—who would go help Thundercrest Continent?

Miles Silent’s cultivation was not high, but he was extremely cautious—and as the City Lord of Cauldron Haven, he certainly wouldn’t go to Thundercrest Continent. There weren’t many Immortal Emperors in Cauldron Haven, and he doubted Mona Chancy would go help. That left only those connected to him: Guildmaster Quentin Qu of the Alchemist Guild, and Deputy Guildmaster Sam Shen.

As for Old Crook, Joe Di was certain he wouldn’t go…

"How many people went to Cauldron Haven?" Di Jiu asked again.

"I heard three powerful cultivators went." Morgan Lenyon replied to Di Jiu without a trace of hesitation. Anyone who could trade with his master must surely be an Immortal Emperor.

Three? That means Old Zhong went too? That shouldn’t be the case—unless it was one of Mi Ji or Meng Xixi?

Wait a moment...

Di Jiu suddenly thought of the Millennium Divinewood Essence. If Thundercrest Immortal Continent really brought out the Millennium Divinewood Essence, Old Zhong would definitely be the first to go.

So, all three people connected to him went to Thundercrest Immortal Continent?

"I have urgent matters to attend to. We'll talk later." Leaving these words behind, Di Jiu’s figure flickered, his Spirit Shift technique activated, and he vanished instantly.

"So strong..." Morgan Lenyon wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He was certain Di Jiu was even stronger than his master, perhaps comparable to Li Lei, the sect master of Thundercrest Sect.

After calming himself, Morgan Lenyon took out his Spatial Compass Sphere, determined the direction of Magic Garment Immortal Continent, summoned his flying ship, and rushed away.

Whether he made it in time or not, he had to reach Magic Garment Immortal Continent for help. Otherwise, Thundercrest Immortal Continent was doomed, and his master would have no hope.

...

Di Jiu unleashed Spirit Shift at full speed. He wasn’t heading to Thundercrest Immortal Continent to help, but straight to Cauldron Haven.

Years ago, it had taken Di Jiu several years to travel from Outer Cauldron Void City to Cauldron Haven. This time, it took him only a day to arrive outside Cauldron Haven.

The city’s defensive array hadn’t been disturbed, and his Peace Inn was perfectly intact. Sweeping the city with his divine sense, Di Jiu immediately noticed that both presidents of the Cauldron Apothecary were absent, and Old Zhong was missing from Peace Inn as well.

Di Jiu’s thoughts had been hazy before, but now he was certain—there was something odd about the departures of Old Zhong, Qu Hen, and Shen Zishun.

"Emperor Di..." As soon as Di Jiu stepped into the city, Mi Ji hurried over to greet him.

Di Jiu nodded. "Did Thundercrest Immortal Continent’s beast tide invite you?"

Mi Ji quickly replied, "They did invite me, but that beast tide is terrifying—it has destroyed more than ten Void Immortal Cities in a row, and now even Thundercrest Immortal Continent is in crisis. If I left, I’d worry about the safety of Cauldron Haven."

"Good, good." Di Jiu patted Mi Ji’s shoulder approvingly. "A man of principle must look after his own roots. If you can’t protect your own home, helping others is just adding trouble."

Truth be told, working with Mi Ji was better than teaming up with Qu Hen—Mi Ji knew exactly what was most important, and what could be set aside.

Regardless of whether the beast tide at Thundercrest Immortal Continent was suspicious, even if it wasn’t, both presidents of the Cauldron Apothecary shouldn’t have left together.

As for Old Zhong, Di Jiu was sure it was because the other side offered Millennium Divinewood Essence. Di Jiu wasn’t worried about Old Zhong—whether it was real or fake, if someone thought they could take him down, they were sorely mistaken.
