Chapter 486: Specter Valley
Still, he really couldn't figure it out—what exactly was it about Inferno Fortress that attracted the Blazeforge Orcs? Sure, the fortress sat atop rich mineral veins, enough to make any major power envious, but what did that have to do with the Blazeforge Orcs?
You had to remember, the Blazeforge Orcs' civilization was basically nonexistent when it came to forging. To them, a mineral vein was probably no different from ordinary rocks.
There were just too many unanswered questions here...
If the Blazeforge Orcs were willing to attack this place at any cost, it meant that something within Inferno Fortress held a deadly allure for them.
Clearly, Inferno Fortress was far from as simple as it appeared. Leon could tell that although Thorne Merlin had spent over a decade in the Blazeforge Realm, his understanding of the fortress was only skin-deep; anything deeper seemed completely out of reach.
Then Leon remembered Edgar Merlin and Uriel Merlin from the Ancestral Grounds—maybe they had some clues. He sent someone to notify them, and within minutes, Edgar and Uriel hurried into his quarters, looking distinctly uneasy.
They couldn't help it. With their old personalities, they'd never have cared much for anyone outside the Ancestral Grounds. But the young mage before them was a special case—not only a commander, but powerful enough to make anyone despair. Faced with someone like that, neither of them could muster any pride.
Even trying to act calm around the young mage was a struggle.
"Um... Magus Merlin, is there something you need?" Edgar Merlin asked cautiously. He'd originally planned to visit the young mage with Uriel Merlin, but now that Leon was actively seeking them out, he couldn't help feeling a little anxious.
