Crisis Brought by Pure Yang Qi

1/19/2026

Dozens of desks were set up at the spot designated by Jenny Sima, and in front of each desk stood a registrar.

These registrars were responsible for signing up the participants. Evan Chu glanced casually at one of them, sensing that his aura felt oddly similar to Harold Liu’s.

“Could it be that all these people have ninth-level Xuanwu Realm strength?” He was utterly shocked.

The City Lord’s Mansion was just too powerful. Even the random staff here had this kind of strength—no wonder no one dared cause trouble here all these years. With so many experts around, picking a fight was basically a death sentence.

Evan Chu and Luna Chu lined up together, and he estimated that there were over a thousand clan juniors participating in the tournament this time.

This had never happened before. The registration moved quickly, and soon it was Evan Chu’s turn.

“Name, age, family, Xuanwu Realm level!” the registrar at the desk asked Evan Chu.

“Evan Chu, sixteen, Chu Family, fifth-level Xuanwu Realm!” Evan answered truthfully.

The registrar then handed Evan a wooden token with the number 364 on it, along with some tiny words written on the surface.

Looking closely, Evan realized these were the tournament rules Jenny Sima had mentioned. Not that anyone really needed to be told—everyone already knew them by heart.

If you fell off the platform, couldn’t get up, or admitted defeat, it all counted as a loss.

Of course, death was considered normal too. But if someone kept attacking after the opponent had clearly surrendered, even if they won, they’d be stripped of their qualification and severely punished.

Unless, of course, a life-and-death contract had been signed beforehand. That was a different matter, though it was pretty rare—unless there was some deep-seated grudge, nobody bothered with that.

Evan Chu quickly finished registration, and soon it was Luna Chu’s turn. But when Luna heard Evan report that he was only fifth-level Xuanwu Realm, she looked at him like she’d seen a ghost.

“Lin Feng, are you really fifth-level Xuanwu Realm? You know lying about your cultivation can have serious consequences.” Luna Chu was a little worried he might be messing around.

“Heh, so you finally found out the truth. Are you happy now? We’re at the same level.” Evan grinned, even deliberately glancing at Luna Chu’s chest.

“How is that possible?” Luna Chu’s mind was a total mess, like a jar of mixed spices had just been dumped out.

Luna Chu quickly finished registration too. “Lin Feng, what’s your number?”

“Three sixty-four. What about you?”

“Five eighty-one.”

“Weren’t you right behind me in line? Shouldn’t your number be 365?”

“Why are you asking me? Who else would I ask? And what are you staring at—haven’t you ever seen a beautiful woman before?” Luna Chu noticed where Evan’s eyes were wandering.

“Beautiful woman? Where? I don’t see any!”

“Go to hell!” Luna Chu snapped, storming off toward the arena.

Evan Chu just smiled. He loved seeing Luna Chu’s angry face—there was something wild and fiery about it, and every time he couldn’t help but tease her.

“Registration is complete. All clan juniors participating in the tournament, please take your seats according to the number on your token. If your number starts with one, go to Arena One; if it starts with two, Arena Two; and so on.

Remember the tournament rules: no matter your background or how talented you are, anyone who breaks the rules will be disqualified.”

Jenny Sima’s beautiful voice rang out in Evan’s ears. He couldn’t help but think, “There are over ten thousand people here, but this woman can project her voice so clearly to everyone—she’s really something.”

“Once you reach the Earth Martial Realm, that’s normal. There are two major threats among the participants this time—you need to be careful. One of them is already eighth-level Xuanwu Realm.

And the other one—you’d never guess who it is. If you run into her, you’ll be in for a huge surprise!” The Sword Spirit’s voice sounded in Evan’s mind.

“Who is it?”

“I can’t tell you yet—otherwise it wouldn’t be a surprise! Just remember to hide your true strength and only reveal it in the final rounds. Catch everyone off guard.”

“Damn it! You always leave me hanging!” Evan Chu grumbled inwardly, but he knew there was nothing he could do about the Sword Spirit.

Since Evan Chu’s token started with a three, he could only compete on Arena Three.

There were a hundred people assigned to Arena Three. They were split into ten groups by matching the last digit of their numbers, and only the winner of each group could advance.

Evan Chu was in the fourth group, which meant he had to wait for the first three groups to finish before it was his turn.

Just then, Evan felt a sharp gaze from the spectator stands lock onto him.

He looked up and saw a veiled young woman, surrounded by a crowd—including Dominic Chu and Harold Liu.

“Who is she? Could she be Jenny Sima?”

He couldn’t see her face, but she seemed no older than twenty. Still, she was already an Earth Martial Realm powerhouse.

Evan Chu met her gaze, and the feeling of locking eyes exhilarated him. He’d never done this sort of thing before—not even staring at Luna Chu’s chest or making those crude comments.

But ever since that unforgettable night with Roxanne Lin, sometimes he just couldn’t control his words or actions. He hadn’t done anything truly outrageous, but something still felt off.

“Staring me down, huh? Let’s see how long you can last!” Evan Chu thought, amused by how thick-skinned he’d become.

The two of them stared at each other for nearly five seconds before Jenny Sima finally looked away.

“Staring me down? You should know who I am!” Evan Chu was thrilled at his little victory.

“Evan, you’re getting more unruly by the day. It must be all that Pure Yang energy in your body—you need to release it soon, or you might lose control and do something truly shameful.” The Sword Spirit sounded worried.

Evan Chu was shocked. Doing something truly shameful was taboo for martial artists—anyone who crossed that line could be killed on the spot, and their family would have no right to complain.

“Why am I like this?”

“You were born with a Pure Yang body—your Pure Yang energy is much higher than normal. Once you lose your virginity, you’ll need to have intercourse once a month to absorb a woman’s Yin energy and keep it in balance.

Because Roxanne Lin has a natural Profound Yin Constitution, she was able to stabilize you for three months. Now that time has passed, your body is starting to show some reactions."

When Evan Chu heard Luna's explanation, a chill ran down his spine. No wonder he'd been constantly thinking about those passionate moments with Roxanne Lin lately.

Whenever he wasn't thinking about her, he felt parched and restless. "What am I supposed to do? I refuse to do something so beastly!"

"All you need is to sleep with a woman, but finding the right one isn't easy. With the amount of Pure Yang Qi in your body right now, an ordinary woman wouldn't survive—it could literally kill her."

"I'll go find Roxanne! Her Profound Yin body can help me!" Evan Chu blurted out as the solution hit him.

"You can't go to her now. You have to wait until she breaks through to the Earth Martial Realm—otherwise, you'll only end up hurting her!"

Evan Chu was starting to lose it. Ordinary women were out, Roxanne was off limits for now—was he really doomed to become worse than a beast before this was over?

The triennial Family Tournament was underway, but Evan Chu was stuck worrying about how to find a woman who could survive sleeping with him. If anyone found out, he couldn't imagine what they'd think.

"There is a way—if you've got the guts!" Luna laughed.

"What do you mean? Spit it out!" Evan Chu saw a glimmer of hope and pressed her urgently.

"Jenny Sima isn't a Profound Yin Constitution, but she has a Nine Yin Constitution—something that only appears once in a century. If you were with her, your problem would be solved."

"You're telling me I should... with her..."
