Chapter 498: Get Out (Vote for Me!!!)

From the furious roar that Wallace Charlotte let out upon entering the reception room, Councilor Suville immediately knew that Wallace harbored deep hostility toward the young mage.

"Councilor Suville, he really is from the Merlin Family. I suspect his visit to Darkmoon Fortress is up to no good..." As Wallace spoke, a sharp magical aura surged from his body, his face twisting into a chilling smile. Even a fool wouldn’t believe such words, but he knew full well that Councilor Suville had a longstanding feud with the Merlin Family.

"Is that so?" Councilor Suville's aged face showed a look of surprise.

"It’s possible. Why don’t I help you apprehend him and conduct a thorough interrogation..."

"Then I’ll trouble you, Patriarch Wallace..."

"No trouble at all..."

Wallace let out a cold laugh, his venomous eyes instantly locking onto Leon, radiating undisguised killing intent. Just a few words exchanged, and he and Suville were already in silent agreement—both harbored animosity toward the Merlin Family. As his words faded, Wallace’s hand shot out, completely without warning.

As Wallace made his move, a suffocating wave of magical energy surged through the reception room. Compared to two days ago, Wallace was even more domineering now. Suville, standing off to the side, was secretly alarmed. Sensing the magical aura around Wallace, he judged that Wallace’s strength had reached the peak of Sixth Level Title Archmage—just a bit weaker than himself. Killing a Fifth Level Archmage would be a matter of moments.

However, he felt there was something strange about the power surrounding Wallace...

But he didn’t dwell on it—so long as Wallace could kill the young mage, all would be well.

“Ha! Leon Merlin, let’s see who can save you this time…”

Wallace’s sneer twisted across his face as a hand, conjured from raw mana, lunged for Leon. The palm radiated menace, thick with the stench of sulfur—never mind that the young mage was a mere Fifth Rank Archmage, even a Fifth Rank Title Archmage would be hard-pressed to survive such an assault.

Clearly, Wallace had no idea—Leon was not your average Fifth Rank Archmage…

Almost the instant that mana-forged hand descended, a bone-chilling cold swept through every corner. A flash of ghostly blue, a sudden layer of thick frost coalesced midair—a muffled boom, then the sharp crackle of ice spreading. A wall of ice, squared and unyielding, erupted with jagged fractures, and as the mana faded, Wallace could scarcely believe his own eyes.

Was this really a Fifth Rank Archmage?

He was so shocked he could barely speak. That mana-forged palm had contained terrifying power—enough that even a Fifth Rank Title Archmage would have to tread carefully. After all, he himself was at the very peak of Sixth Rank Title Archmage.

And yet, the young mage’s ice wall had stopped the mana hand cold. Wallace simply couldn’t process it. But he had no time to think—his ears rang with the shriek of air splitting and a surge of bitter cold.

Wallace’s sneer froze on his face, replaced by a weight he’d never felt before. The young mage’s spellcasting was blindingly fast—in the blink of an eye, more than a dozen Frost Spears hurtled toward him like a barrage.

In a flash, Wallace didn’t panic—he remained eerily calm, buoyed by the power surging inside him. A thick layer of frost raced across his skin, and in an instant, his Ice Elemental Avatar was fully formed. With a series of heavy thuds, shards of ice exploded under the relentless impact of those Frost Spears.
