Evan Chu was deliberately using provocation tactics to pin down the Yin–Yang Demon Empress, buying Sect Master Treasureforge more time to slaughter the demonic army’s soldiers. He also wanted to test the Empress, hoping for a chance to force her out of Selena’s body.
"So you’re the supreme commander of the Immortal army? I didn’t expect you to be so young. For someone your age to have this kind of power is impressive, but today you’ve run into me and still dare to spout such arrogance in front of me—so you’re dead for sure." the Yin–Yang Demon Empress said.
Evan Chu glanced at her and laughed, "Who dies today is still up in the air. You, as a realm’s ruler, but neither male nor female, really surprise me. Possessing a woman’s body—how could you stoop to that? I honestly didn’t expect it from you."
"Boy, you talk too much. Beating Zane Zuo shows you’ve got some skill, but you’re still nothing to me. Today I’ll show you my true power." the Yin–Yang Demon Empress said, her voice abruptly shifting from Selena’s to a harsh male tone.
"Commander, this person is extremely cunning—let me join you in fighting him. Do not underestimate him." Zane Zuo said at this moment.
The Yin–Yang Demon Empress paused for a moment, then said, "Fine. For the sake of victory, there’s nothing to hold back. Once we kill this brat, we can wipe out that guy who slaughtered countless of my demonic soldiers. I’ll make sure he dies an ugly death."
"You sure do talk a lot. If you’re going to fight, then come at me together—I’ll take you both on. Let’s see if you can live up to my expectations." Evan Chu said.
Evan already had a plan in mind—he had to seize this chance to kill Zane Zuo. This guy was a huge threat; if he escaped, dealing with him later would be a nightmare. Zane knew the Immortal Realm better than anyone from the Demonic Realm.
If one day he ascended to the God Realm, the consequences would be unimaginable. There’d be no one left in the Immortal Realm who could stop Zane. Evan had to eliminate this danger now, before it grew out of control.
With a thought, he unleashed Divine Cleave at lightning speed. This strike was fired with the resolve to kill—Evan didn’t hesitate for a second and went all out.
Powerful sword qi swept out in all directions, shaking the surrounding space. Zane Zuo never dreamed Evan would target him—he panicked and swung his blade in a desperate counterattack.
Already seriously wounded, Zane’s attack was much weaker than usual. Against Evan’s overwhelming power, he was no match. With a thunderous crash, Evan’s strike landed squarely—massive sword qi from the Frostbane Divine Sword pierced straight into Zane’s body.
His old wounds were torn open even wider; this blow pulverized his internal organs. Evan was determined to kill him, so he kept a close eye on Zane’s demonic infant escaping. Just as he expected, after Zane’s body was struck, his demonic infant darted out, trying to flee.
In a flash, Evan unleashed Heart‑Sword. The Frostbane Sword shot out like a meteor through the night, targeting Zane’s demonic infant. This time, there was no escape—the Frostbane Divine Sword pierced it cleanly, and Zane Zuo was completely annihilated.
The Yin–Yang Demon Empress hadn’t expected Evan to completely ignore her and attack Zane instead. Being overlooked like that was a major blow to her pride.
She’d sensed the terrifying power of Divine Cleave just now, but believed she could unleash attacks just as strong herself—so she didn’t take Evan seriously.
Meanwhile, Sect Master Treasureforge activated another Heaven-Annihilating Talisman, slaughtering hundreds of thousands more demonic soldiers. The Empress was growing desperate. As Evan attacked Zane, she suddenly produced a pitch-black longsword in her hand.
With a shake of the blade, she unleashed a devastating attack from the sword, sending surging demonic qi skyward as she struck at Evan at blinding speed.
Evan was still finishing off Zane with Heart‑Sword and had no chance to block the Empress’s attack. All he could do was throw up a stone‑earth armor and a Chaos Immortal Force barrier to defend against her overwhelming strike.
The Empress’s attack landed squarely on Evan—the sword qi and demonic aura shattered his barrier in an instant, and his stone‑earth armor was also torn apart. Evan was blasted hundreds of meters away before he managed to steady himself.
That blow left Evan seriously injured. The Empress’s black demonic qi was fiercely corrosive—similar to dark element, but not quite the same.
Several wounds appeared on Evan’s body—almost deep enough to expose bone. The worst part was the demonic qi’s corrosive power; within just a few breaths, the flesh around his wounds was rotting away.
Evan felt an agony like never before, forcing a groan from his lips. But stubborn as ever, he quickly struggled to his feet—maybe this was the price for underestimating his enemy.
The Empress was overjoyed to see Evan blasted away. No one in the Demonic Realm could survive a full‑force strike from her, and she doubted anyone in the Immortal Realm could, either.
Even if Evan survived, he’d be gravely wounded and unable to fight. After dealing with that hateful guy who’d slaughtered so many of her troops, she planned to seize Evan’s body for herself—his immense power and defense were too tempting to ignore.
The Empress flashed toward Sect Master Treasureforge. With her strength, he was no match. As the main commander, Evan couldn’t let her succeed—but he was too far away to catch up. His only option was to use Icefire Eye.
With a thought, Evan rapidly circulated Chaos Immortal Force and unleashed Icefire Eye—twin beams of light struck the Empress squarely.
Evan believed his Icefire Eye could seriously injure her—after all, his power was now at the late Immortal Emperor peak, and the attack’s might had risen dramatically.
Icefire Eye punched through the Empress’s body. Evan hated to do it—after all, it was Selena’s body—but he had no choice. As long as her soul survived, he could help restore her later.
The Empress crashed to the ground. Evan’s heart leapt with joy at the sight—but just a few breaths later, a wave of agony shot through his mind, and his body began to convulse uncontrollably. It all happened so suddenly, completely catching him off guard…
