Stonebird Teahouse and Old Classmates

Capitalview First High School.

As the dismissal bell rang, Evan Lin quickly packed up his bag and walked out of the school gate.

A BMW was parked in front of the school. Next to it, Ryan Ren stood in a little suit, his chubby face full of anxiety.

His darting eyes kept scanning the entrance of Capitalview First High, and even when pretty girls passed by, he barely glanced at them.

Only when Ryan Ren saw Evan Lin walk out did his expression change. He took a deep breath, summoned his courage, and stepped forward to block Evan’s path.

"Stop right there!"

Ryan Ren shouted loudly.

"What do you want?" Evan Lin glanced at him.

Ryan Ren’s face instantly turned pale with fear. He swallowed hard, pulled a letter out of his pocket, and handed it to Evan.

"Th-this... this is a battle letter!"

Ryan Ren's voice shook as he spoke. His hand holding the envelope trembled, his legs were quivering, and his eyes were filled with nothing but fear as he looked at Evan Lin.

"A battle letter?"

Evan Lin glanced at it curiously and took the letter.

Taking advantage of the moment, Ryan Ren dove into his BMW and sped off in a flash.

"Picking on him again? You only ever bully guys like Ryan Ren."

Lynn Chen walked past Evan Lin without looking back, her tone a bit cold.

After she spoke, Lynn Chen walked off with her group. Some of the girls beside her kept glancing back at Evan, their faces full of curiosity and amusement, whispering among themselves.

Evan Lin opened the so-called battle letter. The contents made him raise his eyebrows slightly.

He tossed the so-called battle letter aside, stuck his hands in his pockets, flagged down a taxi, gave the driver an address, and the car sped off.

Stonebird Teahouse.

This was a courtyard estate on the outskirts of Capitalview.

Inside the courtyard, men in suits bustled in and out, their faces solemn and their demeanor respectful.

Soon, a bus pulled up. As it stopped, a manager stood at the door, swept his gaze over the women inside, and announced, "Today the Wei family patriarch is hosting a tea gathering for all the city’s jewelry bosses. Once you get off, I want everyone sharp and alert!"

"If anyone messes up, you can pack your bags and leave tomorrow!"

The moment the manager spoke, all the women on the bus froze.

These women were tall and fair-skinned, most dressed in special etiquette uniforms that showed off their figures perfectly.

"The Wei family? You mean the biggest jade dealers in Capitalview?"

"Wow, good thing I did my makeup! If I meet a rich heir tonight, I’ll never have to worry again."

"I thought this was just some ordinary etiquette gig. Didn’t expect it to be a big deal!"

The women on the bus were all beaming with excitement.

They were all flight attendants from Capitalview Air. Sometimes, their company would send them out for etiquette gigs like this, and the pay was pretty generous.

After all, when it came to looks, figure, and poise, flight attendants were top-tier.

Sitting in the back row, Irene Xu snapped out of her thoughts when she heard that. "The Wei family?" she blurted out, stunned.

"Yeah, Irene, didn’t you hear? It’s the Wei family. Didn’t Young Master Wei try to get your number last time? What, want him to come out and greet you?" The woman beside Irene giggled.

"Seriously, Irene, how far have you gotten with Young Master Wei? He’s always got rich heirs around him, right? If you get the chance, introduce me to one, okay?" another woman said, her face full of anticipation.

Irene Xu’s face changed. Ever since the White Crane Manor incident, she’d spent days worrying the Wei and Zhou families would come after her and Evan Lin. But after the holiday ended and nothing happened, she finally relaxed a little.

But she never expected the company would send her to work at a Wei-family tea event!

Besides that, Irene only knew the pay for this gig was pretty good, so she’d signed up hoping to earn some extra cash.

Thinking of all this, Irene Xu hurried up to Manager Victor Zane and asked, "Manager Zane, can I skip this job? I don’t need the money."

Manager Victor Zane glanced at her and shook his head. "Irene, you know the company rules. You’re already here, so you have to work."

"Besides, aren’t you pretty close with Young Master Wei? If you really don’t want to stick around, just give him a call and have him show you around. Treat it like a night out."

Manager Victor Zane chuckled, then waved to the others and led the group of flight attendants off the bus.

With no choice, Irene Xu just followed along, head down the whole way, too scared to look up in case the Wei family spotted her.

Even though Evan Lin was the one who injured Wade Wei, Irene was with him at the time. If anyone wanted to dig deeper, she probably wouldn’t get off easy either.

Manager Victor Zane arranged the flight attendants with military precision. The sight of all those tall, elegant women lined up outside the teahouse instantly brightened the whole scene.

Irene Xu was placed right at the entrance. She kept her head down, her mind a complete mess.

"Hey? Are you... Irene Xu?"

Just then, Irene heard someone call her name. She looked up, startled, and saw a woman walking over.

The woman wore flashy designer clothes and heavy makeup, her figure curvy and eye-catching—especially her chest, which drew plenty of attention.

She clung to a short, chubby middle-aged man who, despite his looks, sported a Longines watch worth tens of thousands, clearly marking his status.

"You’re... Faye Parker?" Irene Xu stared at her, caught off guard.

Her mind instantly flashed back to memories of her old classmate.

"Wow! It really is you!" Faye Parker’s face lit up. She spun around and shouted to another woman hanging on a different man, "Hey, Martha! Come see who I ran into! It’s our old class beauty, Irene Xu!"

"She’s actually working as a hostess here! Haha!"
