"Evan, why aren't you chasing after her yet? Do you have any idea how many tears Selena has shed for you, how many days and nights she's spent worrying about you? And now you go and do something so outrageous—have you even thought about how she feels?" Luna Chu said.
"Luna's right, Evan. You've married all these other women, but Selena still doesn't even have a proper title. She's not like me—no matter how many women you have, I'm always your woman, but her identity is so special, the pressure she feels inside is something you'll never understand," Claire Owens added.
Evan glanced at the two women and said, "I know what I need to do!" With that, he instantly activated his movement technique and vanished from sight.
His sudden action startled Heaven Ape and the Vice Hall Master, along with several other experts. It was the first time they'd ever seen such speed—none of them could figure out how Evan managed it.
The moment Selena left the main hall, she flew straight into the depths of the Monster Beast Forest. After traveling dozens of miles, she looked back but saw no sign of Evan. Furious, she shouted, "Damn you, Evan! Stupid Evan! I'm never speaking to you again! I'm going back to the Demonic Realm right now so you'll never be able to find me!"
No sooner had she finished speaking than she suddenly saw someone up ahead, not far away, smiling at her. "If you dare leave me, I'd tear the Demonic Realm apart just to find you. But the real question is, could you really bear to leave me, my beloved woman?"
Selena was stunned—how did this guy just appear out of nowhere? She hadn't seen him chase after her at all! But she quickly retorted, "I'm not your woman, so stop flattering yourself. Do you really think I can't live without you?"
Her tears kept falling as if they were worthless, and seeing this made Evan's heart ache. In an instant, he moved right in front of her, pulled her into his arms, and said:
"Sel, you know how I feel about you. Even if I let down the whole world, I'd never let you down. Do you really not understand my heart? Don't worry—I will give you an answer," Evan said.
"Let me go, let me go!" Selena started struggling, but once she was in Evan's embrace, there was no way she could break free.
Seeing she couldn't break free, Sel bit down hard on his shoulder—but her teeth met something as unyielding as iron, leaving her mouth aching instead.
Evan simply turned her face toward him and kissed her firmly on the lips. Sel struggled fiercely, but it was all in vain.
Evan's most effective way of coaxing a woman was always his domineering kiss—even a powerhouse like Selena Yale couldn't resist, and Sel was no exception. After a few moments of resistance, she finally gave in, her tongue shyly entwining with his in a deep, lingering kiss...
After a long moment, Evan released Selena. Her cheeks were burning, her eyes brimming with a mixture of frustration and longing. "Is this how you always handle women? What kind of answer are you going to give me?" she demanded, voice trembling with emotion.
"Selena, when I hold my grand wedding, I want you at my side as my bride. I’ve already spoken with your father, the Demon Lord—he’s entrusted you to me for life," Evan said, his voice gentle but resolute.
The subtle, sweet scent of Selena’s hair drifted into Evan’s senses, soothing him in a way he couldn’t explain. His feelings for her were unlike anything he’d known—deep, complicated, buried so far in his heart that even he couldn’t untangle them.
"Are you serious? My dad actually agreed to let you marry me?" Selena’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Evan.
"Of course I’m serious. How could I ever lie to you? My strength owes a lot to your father, too. I wanted it to be a surprise, but when you stormed off, I had no choice but to tell you everything," Evan explained, earnest and apologetic.
Hearing this, Selena broke down again—her tears flowed even harder than before, her sorrow and joy mingling until Evan was left helpless, not knowing what to do.
"Selena, why are you crying? Aren’t you happy? Or do you regret it because I have so many women?" Evan asked, genuinely baffled.
"Evan, I’m crying because I’m happy! Do you know how many times I’ve dreamed about this moment—thousands, tens of thousands! Every single day I wished I could be your bride. Now that my wish is finally coming true, I can’t help but cry," Selena sobbed, voice thick with emotion.
Evan wrapped Selena in his arms again, gently stroking her hair. "Don’t worry, I’ll cherish you. I know everything you’ve done for me. And when I’m strong enough, I promise I’ll help restore your father."
"Evan, I trust you. Will you promise me one more thing? It’s something I’ve wished for, for so long," Selena murmured, her voice trembling.
"Tell me. Whatever it is, I promise—because you’re the woman I love," Evan replied, gently.
"I... I want... I want to have your child." Selena’s words were barely audible, trembling like a secret she’d held for years.
Her blush deepened, and she ducked her head shyly. Evan grinned, "That’s easy! Why not start tonight? I’ve wanted you for so long."
"Not tonight! I want to wait for our wedding night before I give myself to you. Can't you be patient?" Sel murmured.
"Alright, let's head back! Everyone's waiting for us," Evan said.
With that, Evan held Sel and instantly teleported to the hall entrance—letting her truly experience the terrifying power of her beloved man.
When the two reappeared, everyone rushed to greet them, clearly relieved that Evan had managed to calm Sel down so quickly.
"Heaven Ape, get ready—we leave for the Azure Tide Ruins tomorrow. See if you can notify the Fox King from the Northern Beast King Hall and my little sister," Evan instructed.
"Evan, Alex Xiao is now the fox clan's Saintess, and she's been in seclusion ever since you left. She probably won't be able to come. Besides, beast-humans rarely attend human events, so it'll likely just be me accompanying you," Heaven Ape replied.
Evan nodded. "In that case, let's make tonight a proper celebration. Who knows when we'll be back to the Western Beast King Hall—let's make sure everyone enjoys themselves!"
At the banquet, everyone drank heartily—the beast clan experts kept toasting Evan, congratulating him on his upcoming marriage. The festivities lasted late into the night.
After everyone returned to their rooms, Evan naturally went to Claire Owens's chamber. Reunited after so long apart, the two spent a passionate night together. Only when Claire was utterly exhausted did they finally stop—but Evan didn't forget to draw out her abundant yin energy.
Though her yin poison had been cured, Claire's innate yin-cold constitution meant she still had plenty of yin energy. Evan carefully channeled his Pure Yang Qi into her body, letting her reap tremendous benefits...
