Star Crystal

Evan Chu’s words left the attendant girl frozen on the spot for a long moment. “I said, raise the bid to sixty million Starstones—are you scared silly?”

“I’m sorry, young master, I really was shocked by that number. The current price isn’t even fifty million yet—why jump so high?” she asked in confusion. Still, she followed Evan Chu’s instructions and raised the bid straight to sixty million.

Sixty million Starstones instantly shocked the entire hall. “VIP Room Three just raised the bid to sixty million—looks like he’s dead set on winning this time!” someone in the crowd exclaimed.

“The guy in VIP Room Three is no joke. He just opened with sixty million Starstones. This auction’s going to be even more intense because of him,” another person said.

“No doubt about it. And there’s still a show to come after the auction ends—Azure Tide Ruins hasn’t seen this much excitement in ages. Who knows, this might be the start of a real bloodbath.”

Sixty million Starstones was a staggering sum, but there were still a few who refused to give up on the Purple Jade Spirit-King Fruit. What did it mean to instantly ascend one whole cultivation realm? Most people spent years, even decades, trying to break through a single realm. No one was willing to let such a chance slip away.

“How does Young Lord Peak have so many Starstones? Is he really from the Dark Sanctuary? I can’t think of any sect with that kind of wealth,” Serena Dream muttered to herself in the VIP room.

“Young Lord Peak, if you dare to fight me for the Purple Jade Spirit-King Fruit, I’ll make sure you regret it after the auction! My sect gave strict orders that I must win it—anyone who stands in my way dies!” Voidheart Young Lord snarled.

The others were all shocked, but Young Lord Ethan’s expression stayed calm. “Doesn’t matter who you are—tonight you’ve made yourself the enemy of everyone. Let’s see how you hold onto your winnings once the auction’s over.”

By now the bidding had already reached sixty-five million, but Evan Chu didn’t raise the price again. He was waiting—waiting for everyone to max out their bids before dropping another bomb, making sure no one dared challenge him.

Time ticked by, and the bidding slowed to a crawl. When it finally reached eighty million, it basically stalled—no one was willing to go higher. That eighty million bid came from Voidheart Young Lord.

Everyone waited for ages, but there was no sign of a new bid from VIP Room Three. Disappointed murmurs filled the hall. The Grand Elder called out, “Eighty million Starstones, first call!”

Another two minutes passed with no response, so he called again, “Eighty million Starstones, second call!” Still nothing. By now, everyone had given up hope on VIP Room Three.

Voidheart Young Lord finally relaxed, though he was still annoyed at how Young Lord Peak had spiked the price by ten million in an instant. But just as he thought the victory was his, an unexpected twist hit.

Eighty million was basically his limit. He’d only brought eighty million Starstones for this auction, and he’d already spent about twenty million on a few other items. Those were paid for by trading in valuables he carried; now he had nothing left worth exchanging. If someone added another five million right now, he’d be in trouble.

There were strict rules at the auction: you couldn’t borrow from other rooms, only bid with your own Starstones. Otherwise, people would just borrow whenever they liked something and chaos would break out.

The attendant girl turned to Evan Chu. “Young master, they’ve called twice already. If you don’t bid now, the Purple Jade Spirit-King Fruit will go to someone else.”

“Alright, fine! Just raise the bid straight to one hundred million. Let’s see who dares compete with me,” Evan Chu said.

That line nearly made the attendant girl collapse in shock. One hundred million Starstones—this was probably the highest bid the auction had seen in years.

Just as the Grand Elder was about to announce the third call at eighty million, the attendant girl suddenly raised the bid to one hundred million. Instantly, almost everyone stood up, staring at the spot where VIP Room Three was located.

Jumping the bid by twenty million at once was a blatant declaration: he was determined to win. At that moment, Voidheart Young Lord could only slump helplessly to the floor, fury burning in his eyes—he practically wanted to set the attendant girl in front of him on fire.

“Young Lord Peak, you actually dared to go against me. I don’t care who you are—this is now a fight to the death!” Voidheart Young Lord roared.

“This kid’s got some real wealth—never thought he’d have a hundred million Starstones on him. But even if he wins the Purple Jade Spirit-King Fruit, he probably won’t get to enjoy it. You have to take it on the full-moon night for it to work, and there are still three days left. Once the auction ends, even if White Sun Sect doesn’t kill him, Voidheart won’t let him off.” Young Lord Ethan muttered, holding a girl in his arms.

“Young master, you’re incredible—you’re going to kill me here,” the girl in his arms gasped, panting heavily.

“I haven’t even started yet. If I really went all out, that spot of yours would be ruined already.” Young Lord Ethan teased, then started moving again...

"One hundred million Starstones! Does anyone wish to bid higher?" The Grand Elder stood at the auction stage, visibly excited. In all his years hosting auctions, he’d never seen a price this high.

In the end, no one raised the bid again. Evan Chu won the Purple Jade Spirit-King Fruit without a hitch. But he didn’t feel happy—not because he’d spent so many Starstones, but because he knew what was waiting for him after the auction was a brutal battle.

“Linfeng, don’t worry too much. Maybe this is the chance for Frostbane Sect to rise again. If I’m not wrong, there are definitely Frostbane people here tonight. No way they’d miss a gathering this big. You know what I mean, right?” Sword Spirit suddenly said.

“Yeah, I know what to do. If anyone really tries to kill me, I won’t mind taking a few heads,” Evan Chu replied.

With the Fire Dragon King’s help, Evan Chu didn’t fear Ninth-Layer Divine Martial Realm experts at all. Maybe this really was his chance to rise.

The auction ended, and it was time to distribute the auctioned items. Evan Chu sat in the VIP room, waiting patiently. The person delivering the Purple Jade Spirit-King Fruit was, of course, the Grand Elder. When Evan Chu produced the Star Crystal for payment, the Grand Elder stared at him as if he’d seen a ghost.

“What’s wrong? My Star Crystal isn’t worth a hundred million Starstones?” Evan Chu asked, confused. If it really wasn’t enough, he’d be in trouble—disrupting an auction with fake payment, especially for such a huge sum, could get him hunted across the world.

“No, no, young master! I’ve just never seen anyone own a Star Crystal before. It’s worth far more than a hundred million Starstones. Are you sure you want to trade it for Starstones?” the Grand Elder asked, his voice trembling with excitement.

“It’s all I’ve got, so of course I’ll use it. Otherwise, how could I pay a hundred million Starstones?” Evan Chu replied. But from the Grand Elder’s expression, it was clear the Star Crystal was worth far more than just a hundred million...
