Lila Green's Outburst
"Aunt Zhao, you’re so lucky! You married off your son to a wealthy heiress—you’ll be living the good life from now on!" Surrounded by the villagers’ flattery, Mrs. Zhao drifted into dreams of riches, only to be jolted awake by a loud kick at the door.
The bride, dressed in her wedding gown, burst out of the bridal chamber.
Only after stepping outside did Lila Green realize this was the most rundown country house imaginable—mud bricks everywhere and not a decent tile in sight! She used to be famous, visiting the mansions of high officials; how could she tolerate such humiliation? Furious, she rushed over, grabbed Su Shimao's hair, and yelled, "You lying cheat! Pretending to be rich just to fool me! You shameless scoundrel, I’ll fight you to the end!"
Su Shimao was caught off guard as Lila yanked his hair and dragged him a few steps.
Whenever Lila dropped her 'lady' act, her fiery courtesan side came out in full force, leaving Mrs. Zhao stunned.
Su Shimao still didn’t know Lila’s true identity. Even though he’d lost face being dragged by the hair in front of everyone, he figured she’d learned about his family’s situation and was throwing a rich-girl tantrum. Trying to calm her down, he lowered his voice and pleaded, "Lila, please listen to me! I really do care about you! I only said those things because I felt unworthy—I wanted to seem like I was a good match for you!"
"Pfft, a good match my ass!" Lila cursed, "You bastard, you planned to trick me from the start! And your whole shameless family is in on it!"
Mrs. Zhao hurried over to smooth things over: "Daughter-in-law, I did hide a few things, but Shimao truly cares about you. You’re married now—just focus on living a good life together!"
Lila spat right on Mrs. Zhao’s face. "Live your own damn life! You’re all broke, and you want me to suffer with you? Dream on!"
Mrs. Zhao wiped the spit off her face with a forced smile. "Good daughter-in-law, our family isn’t as well-off as yours. Maybe your father could throw in ten thousand silver taels as dowry? If you spend your family’s money, you won’t have to suffer at all."
"Keep dreaming! Shameless—so you were after my family’s money all along!" Lila, having been played for a fool, was so furious she could hardly breathe. She shouted, "You filthy scam artists, watch how I deal with you!"
Lila slapped Su Shimao hard across the face. Su, greedy for Lila’s family fortune, didn’t dare fight back. He thought, 'If I have to take a beating to win a rich bride, so be it!'
But Lila wasn’t holding back—she straddled Su Shimao and slapped him left and right until his face swelled up like a bun.
Mrs. Zhao was stunned; even as a village shrew, she couldn’t match Lila’s ferocity! Old Mrs. Su couldn’t stand it anymore and rushed to intervene, crying, "My precious heiress, stop! That’s your husband! Just ask your father for more money—then everything will be fine!"
The Su family was either getting hit or trying to break up the fight—total chaos. The villagers watched, dumbfounded: Was this really the legendary heiress?
Villager Li Gouzi, munching away, gleefully egged her on: "Go on, bride! Hit him hard! Right in the face! Good job!"
Lila spun around and snapped, "Mind your own business, old man! Shut your filthy mouth!"
Li Gouzi froze when he saw Lila’s face—wasn’t she the courtesan he used to fancy at the Red Blossom Pavilion?
