"Damien Redlin, today I will avenge my brother..." Rowena Meng, seeing Damien Redlin staring at her, immediately recalled her brother's tragic fate. Without hesitation, she summoned her artifact and hurled it at Damien.
Damien Redlin, also an Edict Saint at the Fourth Step, felt an inexplicable discomfort as Rowena Meng attacked him. But he quickly realized he needed to subdue Rowena Meng first before addressing anything else.
As Rowena Meng made her move, Damien's domain instantly expanded. In his eyes, Rowena Meng, despite having stepped into the Fourth Step, was still not on the same level as him.
Joe Di's Azure Veil Blade was already unleashed, and Time's Third Loom swept forth, unleashing billions of blades imbued with Dao resonance. Peter Fan was the first to bear the brunt, and the cultivators who had attacked Joe Di's defensive array were also engulfed by the killing intent of Time's Third Loom.
Even though he wished to devour Joe Di, Damien Redlin frantically retreated. He had no choice but to withdraw for now.
To Damien's horror, as soon as he took a step back, the spatial domain around him thickened. In that instant, endless spatial laws filled the area—he was utterly trapped. Not only could he not escape, but even the talisman in his palm couldn't be activated.
The colossal Mortal Grindstone thundered forth, as if heaven and earth were collapsing into one. Under its tremendous force, the spatial laws began to shatter.
Peter Fan's heart sank. He paid little heed to Damien's words, but at this moment, he vaguely sensed that Joe Di might have advanced as well.
Though Peter Fan's strength was slightly inferior to James Wan and the Redlin Patriarch, his artifact was far superior. Years ago, he used the Mortal Grindstone to crush Judge Ancestor of the Sunworship Clan, a top expert nearly at the late Fifth Step Paragon stage.
Most would think Peter Fan was trying to save Damien Redlin, but only Peter Fan knew he had no intention of doing so. In fact, Damien's death would benefit him. He was certain Joe Di wouldn't stop just because of his words.
Damien Redlin was bound by Joe Di's domain—how could he not notice? For Joe Di's domain to restrain Damien, it meant Joe Di had likely advanced.
It was the lure of reaching the late Fifth Step Paragon—an irresistible temptation.
Unfortunately, he had miscalculated Joe Di.
Joe Di's Azure Veil Blade was already unleashed, and Time's Third Loom swept forth with billions of blade forces and Dao resonance. Peter Fan was the first to bear the brunt, and those cultivators who had attacked Joe Di's defensive array were swept up in the killing intent of Time's Third Loom.
"He's trying to kill us all—everyone, attack!" Peter Fan roared, unleashing his own artifact.
Peter Fan struggled madly, but under Joe Di's domain and Dao, even a Fifth Step Paragon's resistance was futile.
The colossal Mortal Grindstone thundered forth, as if heaven and earth were collapsing and merging. Under its weight, the spatial laws began to shatter.
"That's the Mortal Grindstone..." Many spectators who hadn't attacked Joe Di's array instantly recognized Peter Fan's artifact.
Though Peter Fan's strength was slightly inferior to James Wan and the Redlin Patriarch, his artifact was far superior. Years ago, he used the Mortal Grindstone to crush Judge Ancestor of the Sunworship Clan, a top expert nearly at late Paragon stage.
The Sunworship Clan declined after Judge Ancestor was slain, eventually falling below even the Human Clan.
All the cultivators who had attacked Joe Di's defensive array knew he meant to kill them all. No one needed Peter Fan's reminder; none dared be careless. Joe Di's record—slaying over ten Fourth Step experts of the Redlin Clan and Saint City, and gravely wounding Austen Ao, the City Lord—was still fresh in their minds. Who would dare underestimate Joe Di?
As the fifth wave of Joe Di's Time's Third Loom surged, Peter Fan's Mortal Grindstone split into two, pressing down like heaven and earth, shattering spatial laws. Joe Di instantly felt his technique suppressed—the blade waves spanning thousands of feet were crushed, his divine laws splintering into fragments.
Joe Di was shocked. After stepping into the Fourth Step, his strength had multiplied. If Austen Ao faced his five-wave blade surge, he'd be forced to defend. But Peter Fan could use the Mortal Grindstone to suppress even this, and delay Joe Di's sixth wave.
This guy wasn't easy, but now, in Joe Di's eyes, he was just a tougher dish to handle. What really caught Joe Di's interest were those two colossal grindstones—the Mortal Grindstone was clearly a top-tier creation treasure.
Joe Di's Dao resonance surged, and the blade waves suppressed by the Mortal Grindstone became even fiercer. In the next moment, a more violent blade surge erupted, prying the grindstone apart.
Under this terrifying surge of blade force, all divine laws were ground to dust. The blade waves flattened everything, rolling forward without a trace of dust.
Boom! As the blade waves blasted the Mortal Grindstone aside, they swept toward the crowd with no further obstacles. In this moment, every cultivator beneath Joe Di's blade surge could only watch in despair as the tide rolled in—filled with endless killing intent, utterly merciless.
Boundless murderous intent swept down, endless blade waves crashed forth! And this was only the sixth wave.
Every one of them knew they would be reduced to dust beneath the rolling tide of blades.
"Brother Di, I, Peter Fan, am willing to follow your lead..." As the breath of death pressed down, Peter Fan felt crushing despair. He didn't want to die, and cursed himself for coveting the cosmic extreme vein of someone who could sweep through Saint City.

It was the lure of reaching late Fifth Step—an irresistible temptation.
Joe Di didn't even bother to reply. As the sixth wave of blade force fully suppressed the Mortal Grindstone, his Azure Veil Blade locked onto every last thread of vitality in Peter Fan.
Peter Fan was formidable, and with the Mortal Grindstone, he was several ranks above Austen Ao, perhaps even comparable to James Wan. But after Joe Di stepped into the Fourth Step, such strength was merely superficial.
After advancing to the Fourth Step, Joe Di suspected the cultivation methods for the Fourth and Fifth Steps here were flawed—just like when he reached the Creation Realm in the Five Elements Universe and found differences upon entering the Creation Saint City compared to other universes.
Peter Fan struggled madly, but under Joe Di's domain and Dao, even a Fifth Step Paragon's resistance was futile.
In this domain, Peter Fan was like a stumbling elder, wandering in a higher realm. Here, all the laws were unfamiliar—even exhilarating—to him.
Exhilarating? As blood burst from Peter Fan's brow, he finally understood—these were entirely new Dao laws, transcending this universe. Joe Di was cultivating rules above theirs. It meant that the Sixth Step, even the Seventh Step pursued by this universe, were no secret to Joe Di...
For countless years, the secret that all cultivators chased was in Joe Di's hands.
"I cannot die..." Peter Fan cried hoarsely. If he'd known Joe Di was such a Dao master, he truly would have followed him. 'To hear the Dao at dawn and die at dusk'—that was not for Peter Fan. Now that he'd glimpsed the secret of the Dao, how could he die?
Spurt! Blood exploded as Joe Di's Azure Veil Blade tore through Peter Fan's brow, while a series of hand seals smashed into his Purple Palace.
Peter Fan gazed despairingly at the world Joe Di had opened, then fell into endless darkness. It was once his, but now he could do nothing.
With Peter Fan slain, the remaining cultivators had no power to resist and were utterly drowned beneath the infinite tide of blade force.
As Joe Di swept away everything from Peter Fan's cosmic world, Rowena Meng's longsword pierced Damien Redlin's brow.
Joe Di would not let Damien Redlin's cosmic world collapse. With a few hand seals, he tore open Damien's world as he was killed, then swept away everything inside.
Compared to Peter Fan's world, Damien Redlin's was far more fragile.
"Joe Di, how dare you kill my son?" An enraged voice thundered as several figures descended from the void. The one roaring in front was Darius Redlin—his eyes bloodshot, murderous intent burning to tear Joe Di to shreds.
(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
