One Against Three

1/19/2026

Evan Chu glanced at the three surrounding him and let out a mocking laugh. "Wow, you really think I'm worth all this trouble? Three big shots surrounding a single youth—how grand. Lord of Coldriver City, stooping to these tactics against me? What a joke!"

"Boy, your death is set in stone today. Don't even dream we'll change our minds. I admit, I didn't expect you to be a Ninth-Heaven Arch-Immortal Realm expert—that's a surprise. I've got no beef with you, so why do you insist on crossing me?" the red-robed elder demanded.

"Heh, you know exactly what you've done. Anyone who poisons their own friend with Helljudge Powder is scum. You think nobody knows your dirty secrets? Heaven's net is vast—nothing escapes it. Today, you're finished. And you three insects think you can kill me? Dream on!" Evan Chu sneered.

The red-robed elder's face twisted in shock. That incident was centuries old—no one alive should know about it except him. Anyone poisoned by Helljudge Powder should've died long ago. How could this kid possibly know? Did he meet the victim? Is that person... still alive? Impossible.

"So, you do know a thing or two, kid. But today, you and that secret will be erased from this world forever." The red-robed elder sneered, summoning a cyan cord that blazed with Immortal light—clearly no ordinary artifact.

Evan Chu recognized the Feather-Spirit Binding Cord instantly—a top-tier binding artifact. He grew alert, surging Chaos Immortal Force through his body. If it came to it, he'd stack Unicorn Arm and Star-Cleave for a killing blow.

Back then, the Fire Unicorn warned Unicorn Arm could only be used seven times before it failed. But that warning only applied to ordinary people—after each use, their arm would go limp, drained of all power.

Unicorn Arm wrecks the meridians in a normal person's arm—use it more than seven times, and you risk snapping tendons or losing the arm altogether. But Evan Chu's defense and meridian strength were monstrous; he'd tempered them over and over. That seven-use limit? It simply didn't apply to him anymore.

The Seventh Layer of Starforge Body scaled with his cultivation. Right now, Evan Chu's flesh could tank a full-power strike from a Heavenly Immortal. Add Earthshift, and even Golden Immortals couldn't threaten him. His meridians were just as tough.

Back then, the Fire Unicorn was only Saint Martial Realm—he couldn't even imagine the effects of higher cultivation. As for Evan Chu, he'd long since stopped caring about the Unicorn Arm's old limit.

Suddenly, the red-robed elder hurled the Feather-Spirit Binding Cord skyward, weaving hand-seals that shot white light into the cord. Its cyan glow exploded, stretching it from under a meter to several meters in a flash, its energy fluctuations growing fierce.

At the same time, the silver-haired elder revealed the Heaven-Shatter Token, and the middle-aged man produced a red mirror blazing with fire element. Evan Chu could feel the burning power pulsing from the mirror—definitely a fire-attribute artifact.

Evan Chu had no external artifacts—just the Frostbane Sword. Right now, he couldn't risk using Heart-Sword remote control; only by gripping the sword himself could he unleash its full power. In a one-on-one, he'd use Heart-Sword without hesitation, but not now.

All three opponents wove hand-seals, but the Feather-Spirit Binding Cord struck first. It shot at Evan Chu like a cyan python, agile and whip-like.

Evan Chu slashed at the cord with the Frostbane Sword, unleashing powerful sword-qi. To his shock, the cord dodged nimbly, coiling around the blade. A crushing weight—tens of thousands of pounds—pressed down, bending the sword.

He could barely grip the hilt as the cord slid up and wrapped around his arm. Evan Chu grabbed at it with his other hand, realizing it was not just heavy but incredibly strong. Even with his monstrous strength, it was hard to control—Immortal artifacts were truly terrifying.

He hadn't expected Immortal Realm artifacts to be so bizarre. After a few seconds of struggle, the cord loosened from the sword and rapidly extended, binding Evan Chu's torso and trussing him up completely.

Evan Chu tried to break free, but the cord was unbelievably tough. Even his strength couldn't tear it—in an instant, he was trussed up like a rice dumpling. Just then, the Heaven-Shatter Token and the mysterious mirror artifact flew up in front of him.

"Hahahaha! Boy, now you're really doomed! Once my Feather-Spirit Binding Cord has you, not even an early Immortal Lord could break free. You dare make trouble at my City Lord's Mansion? You're dead meat!" the red-robed elder roared with laughter.

The Heaven-Shatter Token's glow exploded, swelling into a massive command token that smashed toward Evan Chu. He could sense the blow was as powerful as his own Star-Cleave—top-tier artifacts were truly terrifying.

The strange mirror flared, expanding to washbasin size. A beam of flame shot out, the temperature rivaling earth-fire—so hot the air crackled and popped.

The crowd below in Coldriver City watched with regret and contempt. No one expected such a monstrous youth to be ganged up on by three artifact-wielding powerhouses. His odds of survival looked bleak. Disgusted by their shamelessness, many onlookers closed their eyes, unwilling to witness Evan Chu's execution.

"City Lord, I don't care how tough this kid is—after all this, not even a miracle could save him now," the middle-aged man with the mirror artifact jeered.

"Let's not hold back—give him everything we've got! I want this brat dead on the spot!" the red-robed elder snarled.

Just as the Heaven-Shatter Token and the raging flames were about to strike, two beams—one cyan, one yellow—burst from Evan Chu, instantly forming a shield that blocked the attacks. Evan Chu laughed coldly, "Trash artifacts like these think they can harm me? What a joke! Keep dreaming!"
