Abyssal Hell

12/15/2025

I watched the scene unfold before me. Quentin Kue kept retreating, swinging his wooden sword as he went. Waves of skeletons were shattered, bones flying everywhere. Yet for Quentin Kue, this was troublesome. The skeletons couldn't actually harm him, but they were a nuisance.

Yuna Ji sat atop a towering pile of skeletons, her hand supporting her chin, black-green light flickering in her eyes as she quietly observed everything before her.

The other Ghost Sovereigns were gathered at the base of the tower. Redmond chuckled softly.

“No matter how strong Quentin Kue is, this kind of fighting style must be giving him a headache.”

John Chou shook his head.

“Soon, we might see Quentin Kue reveal something different.”

During the recent fight between Quentin Kue and Shen Yan Jun, I noticed several exchanges of glances between Shen Yan Jun and John Chou. Turns out they had planned everything in advance. If Quentin Kue hadn’t caught on, the seven of them would have already escaped Abyssal Hell.

“It seems that snatching the token has made Quentin Kue even more vigilant. So even though Shen Yan Jun used his instinctual power, we still failed. John, I think we need to keep looking for an opportunity. Quentin Kue has destroyed most of my ghost arrays. Miss Yvonne May, do you think your power can restrain Quentin Kue?”

Basil Bertram posed the question, and the Ghost Sovereigns all turned to Yvonne May. Yuna Ji descended from the high platform. In the distance, violent explosions echoed, shattering swathes of skeletons, but they quickly reformed. In this natural convergence of ghost energy, Yuna Ji could endlessly absorb the power here, continuously reviving the skeletons.

No matter what power Quentin Kue used, he couldn’t kill these skeletons. Their uniqueness lay in being souls condemned to Abyssal Hell, already equated with death. They could never leave. To ensure they stayed trapped, the Underworld placed their bones below, anchoring them in place.

This method is understandable. These heinous criminals cannot enter the cycle of reincarnation—their bodies are laden with sin. And sin, it seems, if not purged from the heart, will regenerate even after being burned away by Hellfire. That is why the Hellfire in Abyssal Hell can never be extinguished.

All of this has operated nearly perfectly under years of effort by the Underworld, but Yuna Ji has upset the balance here. Quentin Kue keeps trying to separate the souls from the skeletons.

With a swoosh, Quentin Kue grabbed a skeleton with one hand, his eyes glowing red. The skeleton whimpered, black energy receding from its body. I saw a wisp of soul emerge from the skeleton, but just as it appeared, the skeleton exploded with a bang.

With a thunderous boom, Quentin Kue unleashed a serpent of fire. Instantly, crimson flames reduced the surrounding skeletons to dust. Yet, as soon as the dust settled, it began to reassemble, and within seconds, the skeletons returned to their original form. Quentin Kue stared in disbelief—he had tried countless methods but still couldn't separate the soul from the bone.

Judging by Quentin Kue's expression, he still intended to keep trying. He kept pulling a mass of skeletons backward, retreating to the edge of the swamp. The skeletons, not stupid, didn't follow him. Quentin Kue stood quietly behind a patch of solid ground on the swamp—the spot where Hell's Registrars would drink. He stared across at the skeletons still trying to approach.

“Ha, Quentin Kue can't do it. No matter what tricks he tries, it won't work.”

Yuna Ji laughed, John Chou nodded, and the Ghost Sovereigns all pondered how to deal with Quentin Kue.

The chains locking the door were unusual—I couldn't tell what they were made of, but I knew one thing: unless Quentin Kue was eliminated, there was no way out. He was a master of ghost arrays; the Exile Town ghost array he set up was one-way and inescapable. Even Redmond couldn't break it. The only way out was through Yuna Ji's Abyssal Hell.

“That guy's still trying to figure it out. What should we do—attack together, or...?”

Mona Ouyang was already growing impatient.

“If you want to go first, Dead Demon, be my guest. But if you do, I doubt you'll survive in one piece.”

Redmond mocked her from the side, laughing heartily. Mona Ouyang ignored him completely, as if she had urgent matters to attend to.

“I can't stay. I need to return to the living world for a while—there's too much going on. You all watch over things here, and don't let my body come to any harm.”

With that, Mona Ouyang left alone, entering a cave.

At the mention of leaving, Redmond's eyes nearly blazed with anger. He glared furiously at the distant skeleton horde; Quentin Kue was nowhere to be seen.

“How much longer do we have to wait, John Chou?”

Redmond asked, but John Chou said nothing, only smiled. Yuna Ji yawned and sat down on the ground.

“I'm getting a little tired.”

“Not yet. We have to wait for the right moment. That moment could come in a few days, or a few years, maybe even a century.”

As soon as John Chou finished speaking, Redmond stared at him, suddenly agitated.

“A century? I can't wait that long.”

Redmond floated upward, clearly intending to go forward, but Shen Yan Jun suddenly blocked his way.

“I just fought Quentin Kue. I know his strength—if you go, you'll be killed instantly.”

Redmond was annoyed, visibly frustrated, but eventually landed again. At that moment, Quentin Kue finally made a move. He floated slowly into the air, his whole body radiating intense ghost energy. By now, skeletons had surrounded the swamp—Yuna Ji had only released fifty thousand skeletons, her greatest limit in a century.

Yet, even with such numbers, there was no real advantage. This place also favored ghosts like Quentin Kue—he could easily absorb the ghost energy here for his own use.

Yuna Ji floated back to the platform and sat down. With a thought, the skeletons below began to move.

With a thunderous crash, all the Ghost Sovereigns stared in disbelief as Quentin Kue charged straight at Yuna Ji, rage on his face, thrusting his wooden sword at her.

With a deafening bang, an overwhelming pressure instantly forced all five Ghost Sovereigns to the ground, unable to move. Skeletons everywhere were crushed into dust by the ghost energy. Yuna Ji coughed up blood as Quentin Kue's sword pierced her body, the white bone armor covering her shattered and vanished instantly.

“Capture the king to catch the thieves.”

Quentin Kue shouted, his voice booming with rage. Violent currents swept through all of Abyssal Hell, surging in every direction. Everything on the ground was blown skyward, and distant skeletons began to fall apart.

As the winds faded, John Chou and Shen Yan Jun immediately flew up. Yuna Ji struggled in pain as Quentin Kue gripped her neck tightly—she was completely immobilized. John Chou and Shen Yan Jun couldn't get close; Quentin Kue's ghost energy was so intense it cut their bodies.

I saw the murderous intent in Quentin Kue's eyes—he wanted to kill Yuna Ji to eliminate future threats.

“If you want to kill me, it's not that easy.”

Yuna Ji cried out, but her eyes gradually lost focus. Quentin Kue's eyes widened in surprise. Suddenly, a jade-green spear beside Yuna Ji shot out—Quentin Kue dodged, but the lightning-fast strike still grazed his cheek, drawing blood. As he stared in shock, a dark green aura enveloped Yuna Ji, and she regained her senses, but she seemed like a different person—another Yuna Ji.

With a whoosh, Quentin Kue retreated. Yuna Ji gripped the spear, and her ghost energy began to surge explosively, growing stronger by the second.

“Don't be reckless, Yuna Ji. Wait.”

John Chou shouted, but Yuna Ji, now transformed, shot forward like a green streak. Her spear stabbed repeatedly at Quentin Kue, who blocked with his wooden sword, but was still struck several times.

The sound of rapid strikes echoed. The other Ghost Sovereigns watched in astonishment—Quentin Kue was completely suppressed by this new Yuna Ji. John Chou kept thinking, while Yvonne May seemed to have known all along about the other Yuna Ji inside her—the nameless monster.

Quentin Kue was constantly pushed back, but now I finally understood why Yuna Ji suddenly possessed enough power to rival him. All the skeletons lay collapsed on the ground, their ghost energy pouring violently into Yuna Ji's body.

Quentin Kue kept defending, his eyes puzzled as he faced Yuna Ji. Suddenly, as he dodged another spear thrust, he transformed into a red flash, darting past Yuna Ji. John Chou stared wide-eyed, then began to smile.

“Prepare to retreat. We can't beat him, not right now.”

Suddenly, the ghost energy around Yuna Ji dissipated. She seemed struck by a violent blow, clutching her head in agony. Slowly, she drifted toward the ground, while Quentin Kue, having reformed his body, charged at her as she fell.

On the ground, John Chou gave a cold smile.
