I sat down. David Chow brought over a stack of documents and laid them out on the table, opening each one.
I looked through them. In an instant, I was stunned—there were five different transfer records for Gregory Wu. In the past two and a half years, he had changed positions five times, and the most recent was a temporary leave due to an incident.
"No results?"
David Chow smiled and shook his head.
"Brother, I put in a lot of effort to investigate this. Treated quite a few friends to dinner, and during those meals, I asked around. They said Gregory Wu had some kind of accident—supposedly, he’s already dead."
My heart skipped a beat. Then David Chow pulled out a few more documents, including a photocopy of a newspaper from half a year ago. It reported that Gregory Wu died in a drunk driving accident, and there was even a photo of an ambulance transporting his body.
I gave a faint smile.
"So his last position was at Jade River Mining?"
I asked, and David Chow nodded.
"That’s what the final transfer record says."
