Emma Yin's Long Reach

1/4/2026

Just as Cici was frantically rushing to the lab, in a quiet corner of Newport City, a dirty deal was taking place.

"Miss Yin, here’s the data you wanted." A sleazy-looking man handed a USB drive to the woman in front of him, who was wearing a hat and a mask.

The woman reached out and took it, lowering her voice: "Are you sure no one saw you?"

"Of course not," the man said proudly. "I went undercover for several days—they really trust me."

A sly, murderous glint flashed in the woman’s eyes. "Is that so?"

The man, still smug, said, "So, my payment..."

"Don’t worry, you’ll get what you deserve," the woman replied, her voice suddenly turning cold. "I’ll make sure you get every last cent—in the afterlife."

The man had been feeling smug, but as soon as he heard her last words, his face changed dramatically!

"Miss Yin, what do you mean by that?" The man looked at her warily, backing away and ready to run at any moment.

At that moment, several men in black suddenly emerged from the darkness, blocking his escape route.

The man screamed, "Miss Yin, are you planning to burn the bridge after crossing it?"

The woman reached up and removed her mask, revealing a proud, arrogant face. "Do you think I’d let you know who I am after something so dangerous? Now that you know, there’s only one way out for you! I warned you before—being too smart just means you’ll die faster!"

"Emma Yin, you bitch!" the man suddenly spat out, gnashing his teeth. "You’ll get what’s coming to you!"

The woman standing before him was none other than Emma Yin, daughter of Uncle Ben Yin, who had been lurking in the shadows all this time.

"Whether I’ll get what’s coming to me, I don’t know. But you? Tonight, you really won’t see another day! Take him out." Emma Yin finished, clutching the USB drive, put her mask back on, and quickly disappeared into the darkness.

Moments later, the man’s desperate screams echoed behind her.

Before Emma Yin even got to her car, the man had already fallen silent—clearly, he was dead as dead could be.

Three years ago, when Ethan Yin was parachuted into Tenghao Corporation, Emma Yin immediately sensed something was off.

Ethan Yin wasn’t the real threat—the scary one was Charles Yin.

Emma Yin always felt her whole family was being watched.

So when Cici was about to give birth, Emma Yin found Helen Jiang again, using her as a pawn. Emma secretly manipulated Helen to drug Cici with a forbidden substance imported from Japan, planning to kill both mother and child during labor.

If it weren’t for the Grant Family’s secret medicine, relying on the Yin Family’s hospital alone would never have saved Cici.

Emma Yin was just that vicious and ruthless.

Whatever she wanted, she had to have. If she couldn’t get it, she’d destroy it!

Just like Helen Jiang was crazy about Eric Jiang, Emma Yin’s obsession with Henry Shaw was just as intense.

For the past three years, Henry Shaw had spent most of his time out of the country, and even when he was home, he rarely showed his face. Emma Yin’s unrequited love had become downright pathological.

At the same time, her hatred for the lucky-to-survive Cici had also reached a pathological level.

These two women used each other, but when it came to hating Cici, they were shockingly alike.

When Emma Yin heard Cici had returned to China and was planning to start a company with Rona Muir, she immediately started scheming.

She planted an undercover agent during Danni Cosmetics’ recruitment, waiting for the lab results to come out so she could steal their work!

No cosmetics company launches just one product—they all roll out entire lines.

Emma Yin ordered her people to steal the secret formulas for the whole series of products set to launch with the company opening.

Even if she couldn’t use the formula herself, Emma Yin just wanted to ruin Cici’s reputation.

Cici rushed into the lab and saw everyone inside looking devastated.

Trembling, Cici asked, "How bad is the damage this time?"

A researcher from the Grant Family’s lab said dejectedly, "Eighty percent of the data was stolen."

Cici’s vision went black and she staggered. If she hadn’t grabbed Rona Muir standing beside her, she would’ve collapsed to the floor!

Who was it?

Who’s out to get her like this?

Rona Muir gritted her teeth. "Damn it! Who the hell did this?"

"Vice President Muir, should we call the police?" another researcher asked cautiously.

Rona Muir waved her hand, her expression icy. "Call the police? It’s too late! Looks like it’s time for some extreme measures. Cici… I need your help now!"

"Fine. If I can do it, just tell me what you need," Cici replied through gritted teeth.

This was the result of days of hard work from everyone in the company!

Just like that, it was all destroyed?

"When it comes to tracking in China, the Mo Family is the best. Max Mo controls the most advanced tracking tech. If you go to him, Cici, he won’t refuse you." Rona Muir gently stroked Cici’s face, speaking seriously. "Tomorrow is Grandma Evelyn Yin’s 80th birthday. If we don’t get this back tonight, it could affect the banquet tomorrow!"

Cici realized just how serious the theft was. With all the powerful people gathered in Newport City, if something happened here, it would be a huge scandal.

Danni Cosmetics hadn’t even officially launched yet, and they could be crushed before they started!

Even though Cici hated to trouble Max Mo, at this point, she had no choice!

Cici gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I’ll contact Max Mo!"

Cici didn’t hesitate. She turned and called Max Mo right away.

On the phone, Cici briefly explained the situation and asked Max Mo to help track down the stolen data.

After hearing her out, Max Mo comforted Cici, didn’t hesitate for a second, and came over with Sophie Mo.

The moment they walked in, Sophie Mo started scolding everyone: "How could you be so careless? Why didn’t you vet employees properly? The company’s just getting started, and those formulas are top secret! How did you let an outsider slip in?"

Cici grimaced. "Sophie, stop yelling. We’re already regretting it! If this leaks, Danni Cosmetics is finished!"

Max Mo’s blue eyes were gentle. He reached out and gently ruffled Cici’s hair, whispering, "Don’t worry, I’ll help you."

With that promise from Max Mo, everyone in the room finally looked a little less grim.

Max Mo brought his own team and got straight to work as soon as he arrived.

Honestly, their tech skills were on a whole other level.

In less than half an hour, they managed to restore the records that had been deliberately erased.

Max Mo frowned as he read his team's report. "Not only did this person copy the files onto a USB drive, they also backed them up online. Clever. Don't worry—the online backup is destroyed. Now we just need to track down the USB."

Cici’s heart raced. "How do we get the USB back?"

Max Mo quickly pulled up surveillance footage from every intersection near the company.

Only then did Cici realize and ask, "How do you have that kind of access...?"

Sophie Mo and Rona Muir both burst out laughing.

Cici was completely confused by their laughter.

"Cici..." Sophie Mo bit her lip. "You probably don’t know, but my brother actually has another identity—he’s in charge of the nation’s hacker surveillance. He manages the firewalls for the most secret government departments."

Cici was left utterly speechless.

She’d never known Max Mo had such a mysterious background.

All her life, she’d only known Max Mo as her family’s chosen fiancé.

Seeing that Rona Muir wasn’t surprised, Cici couldn’t help but ask, "You knew too?"

"It’s something everyone knows—except you." Rona Muir didn’t answer, but Sophie Mo sighed helplessly.

Maybe it was because she didn’t love him, so she’d never paid attention to his life.

Max Mo stayed silent, his blue eyes lowered, hiding his emotions.

Cici didn’t know why, but she suddenly felt a wave of guilt toward him.

"Max..." Cici spoke timidly.

But Max Mo didn’t let her continue. He ruffled her hair and, with a hint of helplessness in his low voice, said, "You know I can never refuse you."

Cici couldn’t say another word.

Sophie Mo sighed, shook her head, and walked away.

Rona Muir also sighed and left with Sophie Mo.

Now only Max Mo and Cici were left in the office.

"Do you have something to say to me?" Max Mo asked, seeing Cici hesitate.
