Chapter 1461
If not for the Nightmare Leotail's inherently resilient body—which could be flattened to paper-thin and still survive—the little creature would have been crushed to death by now.
Landing on the sea surface, Leon barely managed to lift his head and glance around.
The sea formed a vast arc, like an enormous bowl sunken into the depths. Its surface was eerily still—so calm that not a ripple disturbed it. The monstrous pressure had suppressed every wave, turning thousands of kilometers of ocean into a hollowed basin.
Around the rim of this immense bowl, a terrifying storm rose thousands of meters high, encircling the area like the eye of a hurricane. Amid the stillness, an oppressive force descended from above, invisible yet overwhelming.
At the center of this bizarre and terrifying storm's eye, a colossal leg—nearly two thousand meters tall—floated ominously. Its muscular form resembled jagged boulders, with armor like thick stone covering the knee. The hoof was dull and desiccated, looking almost mummified, yet the aura it radiated was the most terrifying of all.
Seeing the massive hoof, Leon's face turned pale. It was the Warbringer's Right Leg—exactly like the one he'd seen before. Last time, he’d barely escaped being crushed by it. And now, here it was again…
No wonder even the Nightmare Leotail didn’t dare approach. Only beings on the level of gods and demons could contend with the Warbringer’s Right Leg.
The Warbringer’s Right Leg hurtled through the air at a terrifying speed, shrouded in a bloody halo. At the top, a ring of ever-shifting runes encircled the jagged wound where it had been severed.
The wound at the top of the leg was jagged and uneven, clearly not the result of a clean cut by a blade, but rather as if some monstrous force had ripped it straight from the Warbringer’s body.
The wound was ragged, the broken bone not snapped but brutally torn apart.
Seeing that wound, Leon was utterly stunned. If the Warbringer’s Right Leg had been cut off, it would be understandable—at the level of gods and demons, there are at least ten who could manage such a feat.
The Warbringer’s body was terrifyingly strong, with the souls of gods and demons fused into it, granting it unmatched power. In terms of sheer physical might, the Warbringer ranked among the top three of all god-demons.
Who could possibly tear the Warbringer’s leg from his body? Leon was completely shocked—he couldn’t imagine anyone capable of such a thing, not even the King of Gods and Demons.
To do this would require overwhelming power, enough to suppress the Warbringer completely and forcibly rip his right leg away.
Around the Warbringer’s wound floated a ring of runes. Leon recognized some of them—half were Runes of Truth. Even though he hadn’t mastered all 108,000, he could identify a few.
The rest were god-demon runes and even stranger, more complex ones. Leon could guess their purpose: to suppress the Warbringer’s Right Leg, severing its link to the rest of his body and even the souls fused within, utterly preventing resurrection.
With the Warbringer’s strength, this seal was completely beyond his power to break. Even after a hundred thousand years, all he could do was stare helplessly.
Just as Leon was frozen in shock, a furious roar exploded in his ears.
War!
A low, furious roar echoed, charged with terrifying power. Leon felt his very soul shaken by its boundless battle intent. His fighting spirit surged uncontrollably, his eyes turned blood-red, and his magic grew wild and violent, flooding his vision with crimson.
It was as if his soul itself had opened its eyes, consumed by pure, mad battle intent. His soul power soared…
In just two or three seconds, his magic power exploded tenfold, and his soul power surged as well. Leon’s aura reached its highest point ever, rivaling an Eighth Rank Sky Mage. Fueled by terrifying battle intent, he could unleash twice his normal strength.
Lost to reason, Leon began to rise slowly from the sea, his gaze locked on the mounting pressure above. Only one thought remained—battle. Pure, unthinking battle, with no concern for why or whom.
Suddenly, a sharp crack snapped him out of his trance. The oppressive force exploded around him, jolting Leon awake. He realized his magic and soul power had multiplied tenfold, and his body was hovering three or four hundred meters above the sea.
The creature that had been clinging to his waist—Tubby—now had blood-red eyes and a crimson aura swirling around his plump face, which twisted in a fierce snarl as he shrieked at the top of his lungs.
War! War! War!
Leon slapped Tubby down as he tried to stand up, flattening him into a pancake five times before Tubby finally snapped out of it. When he did, he clung to Leon’s robe, trembling in terror.
Leon landed on the sea surface, skimming along the wall of the storm, flying toward the other side.
Time was running out—panic was inevitable. Just one roar from the Warbringer had sent Leon into berserk frenzy, and not just any frenzy, but tenfold.
Tenfold berserk magic, tenfold berserk soul…
With both effects combined, his combat power soared at least sixty or seventy times, but Leon’s face only grew darker.
It didn’t feel wrong yet, but if the berserk effect ended before he escaped the battlefield, he was doomed.
Tenfold berserk—this existed only in legend. Only the highest-bloodline beastman elites could possibly possess such power.
Even those terrifying beastman elites at the peak of Sky Rank, with the highest bloodlines, would end up half-dead after unleashing tenfold berserk. Leon didn’t need to think twice—once the effect faded, he’d be left dangerously weak…
Tenfold berserk was pure life overdrive—more than half of those who used it died afterward.
He’d used berserk spirit before to help him comprehend magic, and even then, the effect left him weak. Berserk spirit only reached triple strength at best, but now he’d triggered an even higher soul berserk—tenfold.
Leon’s face had gone so dark it was almost dripping black water. When the berserk effect ended, his soul might collapse into sleep from exhaustion—or worse, shatter from too much loss. He wasn’t sure, but half the time, souls fell into sleep to recover, and the other half, they broke.
Sticking close to the edge of the storm wall, Leon raced forward at breakneck speed, fueled by the tenfold berserk state. There was no time to worry about anything happening on the battlefield.
In the distance, the Warbringer’s Right Leg streaked through the sky. Strange, dim patterns on the hoof flickered, absorbing surrounding light and revealing a ring of eerie black markings.
Where the hoof passed, space shattered. Each terrifying rift was crushed instantly by the hoof, leaving space unable to break at all—any crack was immediately stamped out. Space twisted and spun around the hoof, like a tablecloth wrung by a giant hand.
The whole world seemed to roar with the Warbringer’s fury. As the hoof’s momentum peaked, a massive wheel—over a thousand meters high—appeared ahead, its radiant illusion slowly spinning. At each of the four points, a twelve-sided gem radiated elemental power.
Earth, fire, water, and wind—the four elements—responded instantly, as if loyal soldiers summoned by their king. Every elemental force on the battlefield fell under the wheel’s control.
At that moment, Leon completely lost control over the elements. Even his Elemental Spirit King Avatar couldn’t command them—he felt utterly cut off from all elemental forces.
Realizing this, Leon’s face turned green.
Domain!
With a startled cry, Leon dove into the nearby wall of storm. The instant he entered, he once again sensed the raging elemental forces.
But those raging elemental forces, once driven away by Leon’s Elemental Spirit King Avatar, now seemed to receive an irrefutable command, transforming into countless colored streams that surged into the battlefield.
Within seconds, the chaotic elemental storm spanning thousands of kilometers was completely drained. The terrifying storm vanished almost instantly.
The speed was so great that all the elements merged into a dazzling band of color, which shot into the heart of the battlefield.
In an instant, the entire battlefield became a world of color, saturated with impossibly dense elemental energy. From outside, it looked like a giant, rainbow bowl overturned on the sea.
