Walking Out of the Death Ground

2/14/2026

Mad Wolf listened to Evan Yang and felt tempted. Alone, he might not be able to break the trap formation, but with two people attacking, their power would double, and the increased force just might shatter this trap formation.

After Evan Yang pinpointed the right spot and explained the plan to Mad Wolf, he began to gather his strength.

Standing next to Evan Yang, Mad Wolf originally thought Evan's attack power was similar to his own. But when Evan unleashed a tenfold attack, Mad Wolf was stunned. He stared at Evan in disbelief and said, "How was your attack so strong just now?"

"It's my cultivation method. Unfortunately, even ten times the attack power can't break it." Evan Yang frowned when he saw that his tenfold attack still couldn't shatter the formation.

So, following Evan Yang's suggestion, the two began relentlessly attacking the formation. Mad Wolf didn't understand why Evan insisted on continuous strikes, but he had no choice but to follow along and keep attacking with him.

At first, every attack was at tenfold power, which only managed to shake the formation, never enough to break it. But when Evan suddenly erupted with a twentyfold attack, the formation shattered.

It was like a broken mirror—the outside world reappeared before Mad Wolf's eyes. He turned to Evan Yang, excited, and asked, "How did you do it?"

"Just luck," Evan Yang replied with a smile. But inwardly, he was puzzled—he had attacked over a hundred times and only got one twentyfold burst. As his cultivation advances, the odds of triggering higher multipliers drop even further.

Mad Wolf didn't understand what Evan meant. At this moment, he looked around excitedly, confirmed they were out, and laughed, "Come on, let me take you to my place."

"Your place?" Evan Yang thought of what Mad Wolf meant—the deepest part of the snowfield.

"Yeah, you're already late-stage Spirit-Wandering. That woman told you to visit her only after reaching late-stage, right?" Mad Wolf chuckled.

"How do you know that?" Evan Yang looked at Mad Wolf suspiciously.

"She came to find me later. She was worried you might forget, so she told me that if I ever ran into you, I should remind you. I never expected we'd meet here." Mad Wolf laughed.

"So that's how it is. Alright, I'll go see what she wants." Evan Yang was curious why the woman wanted to meet him only after he reached late-stage Spirit-Wandering, so instead of exploring outside, he followed Mad Wolf and left the Death Crystal Field.

Inside the Death Crystal Field, Evan Yang and Mad Wolf found lots of bugs—and killed plenty along the way.

"Strange, why are there so many weird bugs in the Death Crystal Field?" Mad Wolf wondered aloud.

"Looks like they've broken out." Evan Yang knew the Blue Clan had stayed to keep the bugs from escaping. Seeing so many insects roaming the Death Crystal Field, he could already guess what had happened.

"Broken out? What do you mean, broken out?" Mad Wolf was confused.

"You'll find out soon enough. Let's hurry and get moving." Evan Yang knew these bugs were nearly impossible to wipe out—kill one batch, and another would appear.

Evan Yang and Mad Wolf fought their way out and then withdrew from the area.

On the way, Evan Yang saw that many cities had already become ruins.

"Did they break out of the Death Crystal Field?" After seeing so many cities attacked by bugs, Evan Yang was shocked.

Mad Wolf wasn't familiar with these cities and didn't care much, but he was curious about where the bugs came from and why they brought such disaster to the people here.

"Let me ask someone." Seeing such a strange situation, Evan Yang knew he couldn't leave without figuring it out, so he spread his divine sense to search for people nearby.

He happened to see a few cultivators fighting a swarm of bugs. Evan Yang flashed over and quickly dealt with the insects, while Mad Wolf, naturally fierce, slaughtered them with wild abandon.

The rescued cultivators looked at Evan Yang with excitement.

One man stepped forward and said gratefully, "Thank you, senior."

"What on earth happened here?" Evan Yang asked, frowning.

When they heard Evan Yang ask, they realized he must be a master who had just come out of seclusion and didn't know what was happening outside.

So they told Evan Yang everything that had happened over the past two years. The more he listened, the more he frowned. Finally he asked, "How did the Blue Clan's expert fare against the Strange Fiend?"

"I don't know. The Blue Clan hasn't said anything, but the continent's second strongest, Connor Hawke, couldn't defeat the Strange Fiend." One person replied to Evan Yang.

Evan Yang was surprised to hear that even Connor Hawke couldn't defeat the Strange Fiend, and that the Blue Clan's expert had been silent. He felt something strange, but it was just a guess. Finally, he asked, "Who are the Shadowhand Guild members? What do they look like?"

Shadowhand Guild? Was this person here for them? If Evan Yang hadn't saved them and shown such strength, they wouldn't have said more, but now they slowly described those people's appearances to him.

After listening, Evan Yang confirmed the people were Xin Jiang, Damon Li, and others.

Letting them stay with the Blue Clan was something Evan Yang didn't agree with—especially since the Shadowhand Guild was feared by many. If the Salvation Alliance ever disbanded, these people would be in the greatest danger.

So Evan Yang said to Mad Wolf, "I have something to take care of first. You go ahead, and I'll find you once I'm done."

Mad Wolf thought for a moment, then replied, "Alright, but you must come."

Evan Yang nodded, and Mad Wolf quickly left. The others, seeing Mad Wolf, shrank back in fear, not daring to approach.

After clarifying everything, Evan Yang also left.

"Why does he look so familiar?" a cultivator muttered curiously.

"You think so too? I thought I was mistaken." Another cultivator muttered.

The group started discussing, and once they realized the beggar was Evan Yang, everyone gave him strange looks. Then they quickly left, as if they'd received big news and were excited.

In the Blood Cave, Warren Wong hurried to the Strange Fiend's resting cave.

"What's wrong? Why so urgent?" the Strange Fiend asked curiously.

"He—he appeared!" Warren Wong said excitedly, unable to believe it.

"Who?" asked the Strange Fiend suspiciously.

"That filthy beggar, Evan Yang!" Warren Wong hated Evan Yang deeply, but could never defeat him.

"What? He's not dead? Where is he now?" The Strange Fiend was astonished—he had personally attacked Evan Yang, who was only mid-stage Spirit-Wandering at the time and shouldn't have survived.

"Just now, he killed a bunch of our bug armies in the Death Crystal Field, and then I saw him killing bugs on the continent." Warren Wong reported.

"Damn it, give me more time to recover. For now, just keep a close eye on him. Once I'm healed, I'll deal with him." The Strange Fiend hated Evan Yang deeply—if Evan Yang hadn't ruined his plans so many times, he wouldn't still be hiding here to recuperate.

"Yes, sir." Warren Wong replied, then hurried off again.

"This kid is a menace. I must deal with him before he becomes a stumbling block." The Strange Fiend snorted coldly after Warren Wong left.

Evan Yang's appearance shocked not only the Strange Fiend and his group, but many people across the continent.

"He appeared! Where is he?" When Joe Wood received the news, he jumped up—he desperately wanted to capture Evan Yang and find out the whereabouts of the Spiral, having witnessed its power. No matter what, he had to get Evan Yang.

The Demon Sect Leader passed the latest news to Joe Wood. After hearing it, Joe Wood pondered, "Quick, we must capture him before the Blue Clan does."

"But we don't know where he is right now!" the Demon Sect Leader said helplessly.

"Then we'll wait for him in Bainari, and keep an eye on the Shadowhand Guild members. If he comes, he'll definitely look for that girl from the guild." Joe Wood analyzed.

The Demon Sect Leader nodded and left, while Joe Wood sneered, "Evan Yang, Evan Yang, it's good you're alive. Now it's time to settle the score."

The Blue Clan was known for their prejudice against Evan Yang. When they received news of his appearance and inquiries about the Shadowhand Guild, everyone looked astonished.

"Good, good, I'll wait for him in Bainari!" Lan Zhongzi sneered when he heard Evan Yang might come for the Shadowhand Guild.

"Are you confident?" the Blue Clan Leader asked worriedly.

"He destroyed my avatar—I'll settle that score with him. Back then in the cave, I was worried about spatial rifts, but now, if he dares show up, I'll destroy him." Lan Zhongzi snorted.

"As far as I know, many people want to catch him." Over the years, the Blue Clan Leader had studied Evan Yang thoroughly, and now he didn't forget to point this out.

"Who?" Lan Zhongzi wasn't familiar with events on the continent but was curious who else Evan Yang had offended.

"Connor Hawke from the Hawke Clan, Joe Wood of the Demon Sect, and the Beastmaster Sect. That's all I know for now—there may be others." The Blue Clan Leader listed three groups that surprised Lan Zhongzi.

"He's offended that many?" Lan Zhongzi was shocked.

"Yes, so if he shows up, these people will likely come for him too." The Blue Clan Leader sighed.

"Hmph, we're the alliance leaders now—are they going to fight us for him?" Lan Zhongzi snorted.

"It's not that simple. He's not a bug, nor from the other side—he's one of us, so anyone has the right to catch him." The Blue Clan Leader shook his head.

"Then let's hurry and set up defenses to catch him." Lan Zhongzi didn't want to let such an easy catch go to someone else, so he urged the Blue Clan Leader.

The Blue Clan Leader nodded, then summoned all the clan members. They thought they were preparing to fight bugs, but when they learned the real goal was to secretly capture Evan Yang, their faces showed disbelief.

Lan Zhongzi ignored their reactions and gave orders: if Evan Yang appeared in Bainari, they must stop him at all costs and report immediately.

These were all Blue Clan members—of course they obeyed, and immediately went to carry out the orders.

Besides the Demon Sect, Beastmaster Sect, and Connor Hawke, others had already started making moves in secret.

"That kid's appearance has stirred up so much trouble." When Xin Jiang heard about Evan Yang, she was both shocked and delighted.

"Should we leave right away?" Damon Li knew Evan Yang must have come for them, and if they stayed, it would put him in danger.
