Like a Tigress
Martin Wu, having received Su Li's promise, jumped three feet high with joy, completely reverting to her girlish self. The usual pretense of being a serious, mature professor vanished!
"Martin Wu, go pack your things. I'll send someone to pick you up. After you leave, I'll find someone else to manage the branch academy in the capital," Su Li said.
Martin Wu skipped off gleefully, chattering to herself and laughing out loud along the way, causing all the maids and servants of the Prince of Qin's Mansion to step aside.
A few maids and servants hid behind the wall, pointing at Martin Wu, "Who is that woman? She's clearly a lady, but she's wearing men's clothes and talking and laughing to herself!"
"W-where did this lunatic come from? She's scary!"
"..."
The group kept gossiping about Martin Wu, but when they turned around, they suddenly saw Simon Yu standing behind them, his face dark as he glared at them for talking behind someone's back.
The maids and servants immediately shut up and scattered like startled birds and beasts.
Meanwhile, Martin Wu was feeling quite pleased with herself. She vaguely overheard people gossiping about her behind the wall. Though their voices were quiet, Martin Wu had sharp ears and heard every word. She thought: Oh, so you dare talk behind my back? Let me see who’s so shameless and likes to wag their tongue!
Suddenly, Martin Wu sprang out of the doorway and darted to the other side of the wall. She saw a tall figure standing there, and without hesitation, lifted her foot and kicked that person right on the backside, shouting, "Who’s the gossiping busybody here? Talking behind people’s backs—don’t you have any shame?"
Simon Yu was just standing there when, out of nowhere, someone kicked him hard on the backside. He stumbled forward and fell flat on his face.
Simon Yu's face instantly turned bright red. After all, he was a martial arts expert—getting ambushed and landing face-first was seriously embarrassing! If word got out, how could he ever show his face again?
Simon Yu turned around and glared angrily at Martin Wu, shouting, "Are you crazy? Why did you kick me out of nowhere!"
Martin Wu yelled even louder than Simon Yu, "So what if I kicked you! Who told you to run your mouth, calling me crazy and scary! Maybe I am crazy, maybe I am scary, and guess what? I kicked you! What are you going to do about it?"
Simon Yu was stunned by Martin Wu's barrage of shouts, his mind blanking out. When he finally came to his senses, he realized Martin Wu looked awfully familiar!
Martin Wu, having gotten a good look at Simon Yu's face, suddenly remembered something!
Wasn't this the guy who, back at Yuan Jie’s hotpot restaurant, slapped her chest, kneaded it a few times, and called her a flabby loser?
"You jerk! That’s for touching my chest and calling me flabby—let’s see if I can kick you to death!" Martin Wu remembered the incident, her ears burning red. She was still a maiden, never touched by a man before, and yet this idiot had groped her chest. How outrageous!
Simon Yu clearly remembered too—back then, he’d mistaken Martin Wu for a man, which was why he’d slapped her on the chest.
But looking at her now, she was obviously a woman!
Simon Yu instantly felt guilty. Oh lord, he was a pure-hearted twenty-something guy, and yet he'd ended up grabbing a young lady’s chest in public!
Feeling sheepish, Simon Yu didn’t dare fight back and just let Martin Wu kick him in the backside a few more times.
Seeing Simon Yu not resisting, Martin Wu kicked him a few more times until her anger subsided. She snorted, "Hmph! If you ever let me catch you again, I’ll beat you every time. Ugh, you hypocritical scoundrel!"
Martin Wu sniffed, flipped her hair, and strode off, leaving Simon Yu to slowly pick himself up, rubbing his backside and groaning, "Oww, that girl really packs a punch—she nearly kicked me to death!"
Thinking back on how fierce she’d looked just now, she was like a tigress—but somehow, he found her kind of cute.
