The Old Sect Master Appears and Sets Up a Duel

Evan Yang knew the Strange Alchemist was definitely waiting outside, so he had to find a way to shake him off. He slowly walked out of Herb Haven, but just as he reached the entrance, a massive aura swept toward him. His only option was to retreat.

With a swift flash, he darted back into Herb Haven, so by the time the Strange Alchemist's attack reached his position, Evan had already vanished.

The people outside Herb Haven were all startled by the Strange Alchemist's sudden attack on the Pill-Refining Marvel. The Strange Alchemist snorted coldly, "This has nothing to do with you. You'd better get out of my way."

These people were no match for the Strange Alchemist, but killing someone here was still questionable, so news of the incident quickly spread.

In the rear hall, Gavin White was watching a soul slowly recover when she heard a voice outside—Lana's. Lana said, "Miss, something important—you should come out."

"Alright." Gavin responded and walked out. The soul was startled awake, but he could already condense a physical body. A body gradually took shape, and he smiled in satisfaction.

Outside the chamber, Lana anxiously told Gavin, "Miss, this is bad. The Strange Alchemist is chasing the Pill-Refining Marvel inside Herb Haven. If you don't go, no one will be able to save him."

"What?" Gavin was shocked. She suddenly remembered the previous grudge between the Strange Alchemist and Evan Yang. She had thought Evan would hide after returning, but trouble still found him, so she flashed away quickly.

Moments after Gavin left, a man walked out of the sealed room. Lana was stunned at the sight. The man smiled, "What's wrong? Haven't seen me in years? Forgotten me already?"

"Master, you're joking. Welcome home, Master." Lana quickly composed herself and greeted him with a smile.

The man smiled and asked, "What just happened? Why was Miss White in such a hurry?"

"Here's the situation: the Strange Alchemist is attacking the Pill-Refining Marvel, but the Pill-Refining Marvel is only at the Immortal Sovereign realm. He definitely can't win. If Miss White doesn't intervene, something terrible will happen," Lana explained.

"The Pill-Refining Marvel? Who is that? I've never heard of him," the man asked, curious about this sudden appearance.

"He's the one who refined the Saint Soul-Restoring Pills," Lana replied.

"What? The person who refined the Saint Pills? I have to see him for myself. Where is he?" The man's expression changed instantly, so he pressed for details.

"He's in Herb Haven," Lana answered.

The man nodded, then flashed away and disappeared. Seeing him vanish, Lana muttered, "Did I say too much?"

At Herb Haven, the Strange Alchemist stood at the entrance, refusing to leave and simply waiting for Evan Yang to come out. At that moment, Gavin White suddenly appeared behind him and said, "What are you planning to do?"

"Sect Master?" The Strange Alchemist was surprised to see Gavin White, but quickly composed himself.

"I'm asking what you intend to do," Gavin White said, visibly angry.

"Sect Master, this is a personal matter between him and me. I ask that you don't interfere." The Strange Alchemist wasn't at ease unless he destroyed Evan Yang today, so he was willing to risk offending the Sect Master to make his point.

"What if I say I will interfere?" Gavin White asked.

The Strange Alchemist hadn't expected the Sect Master to be so direct, so he frowned. "If the Sect Master insists, then I'll sever ties with Medicine King Heaven and no longer be part of it. But I'll still capture the Pill-Refining Marvel."

"Oh? You're threatening me with that?" Gavin White was surprised that the Strange Alchemist would use such a tactic.

"It's not a threat. I have an irreconcilable feud with him, and since the Sect Master is favoring him, I can't accept it," said the Strange Alchemist.

"He explained last time that it was all a misunderstanding. Are you really going to kill someone over a misunderstanding?" Gavin White asked.

"It's not a misunderstanding. So I ask the Sect Master, for the sake of my years in Medicine King Heaven, to pretend this never happened," the Strange Alchemist insisted.

"No matter what, I'm intervening today!" Gavin White snorted coldly.

"If that's how it is, then I have no choice. Don't blame me for ignoring the Sect Master's orders," said the Strange Alchemist.

Gavin White stood there, ready to act the moment Evan Yang stepped out of Herb Haven. The two of them remained locked in a stalemate.

At that moment, another man walked up to Herb Haven. Everyone present was shocked, and Gavin White could hardly believe her father had recovered so quickly. She blurted out, "Father, you..."

"Old Sect Master," the others greeted respectfully.

"Just got back and it's already so lively—what's going on? What major event could cause such a deadlock?" The man smiled.

The Strange Alchemist knew this man was even more terrifying—he was the previous sect master of Medicine King Heaven. Having recently been away traveling, he'd left Gavin White in charge, but now he appeared again, making the Strange Alchemist feel uneasy.

"Old Sect Master, please judge this for me," the Strange Alchemist said, thinking that maybe the Old Sect Master would help him out after all his years of service to Medicine King Heaven.

"Oh? Go ahead, tell me what's going on. I judge by the matter, not by the person!" the man replied with a smile.

Gavin White's heart tightened. She hadn't expected her father to appear, and since he was the former sect master, his relationship with veterans like the Strange Alchemist was complicated, while Evan Yang was just a newcomer her father didn't know. If her father sided with the Strange Alchemist, things could get messy. She quickly tried to speak: "Father, actually—"

"Don't say anything. Let him speak first," the man said, raising his right hand to stop her.

Seeing the man's gesture, the Strange Alchemist was delighted and quickly explained, "The Pill-Refining Marvel cheated me out of a pill formula, so I want an explanation. If he doesn't give me one, I'll destroy him."

"He cheated you out of a pill formula? How did he do that? Tell me the details," the man asked curiously.

The Strange Alchemist recounted his conflict with Evan Yang. After listening, the man smiled, "So that's how it is. Then I'll invite the Pill-Refining Marvel to come out. It's only fair to hear both sides before making a decision."

His meaning was clear: judge by the facts, not by the person. So Evan Yang was called out to explain his side, and the man was also curious to meet the Pill-Refining Marvel, especially since he was the one who refined the Saint Soul-Restoring Pills.

Evan Yang, who had been quietly watching outside from Herb Haven, slowly stepped out. The Strange Alchemist wanted nothing more than to kill him on the spot, but the man stopped him, saying, "Don't rush. Wait until we've heard everything."

The Strange Alchemist dared not act recklessly, so he could only glare at Evan Yang. Evan, seeing the unfamiliar man, realized from the conversation that he was the revived soul, the one who had used the Saint Soul-Restoring Pills.

"Greetings, Senior," Evan Yang said respectfully.

"So you're the Pill-Refining Marvel?" The man was surprised to see someone so young.

"That's right. Mu Yi," Evan replied. Hearing this, the man laughed, "My name is Brandon White."

Everyone was shocked that the man would introduce himself to Evan Yang. To Evan, Brandon White was a lofty figure, while he was just a sect alchemist. Brandon White did this because he saw Evan as a rare talent in alchemy—someone whose pill-refining skills surpassed his own.

Evan was momentarily stunned, then smiled, "Senior White."
