In the Low-Rank War God Arena, anyone who emerges is at least first-tier Heavenly-Immortal in strength. Apart from the top few in the Ten Palaces, nobody else has the ability to challenge them.
Because of Evan Yang's performance in the Ten-Palace Martial Meet, no one doubted his ability, though some were hoping he would run into a tough opponent.
The six North Sect disciples watched with anticipation. If Evan succeeded in all six challenges, they could all leave.
Evan had already registered with the six of them, and his challenge arrangements would be set up soon.
More and more people gathered around, eager to witness Evan's prowess.
"Are you sure you want to challenge them?" The Low-Rank War God Arena also had a manager, who was at least Immortal Lord level. When he saw Evan pick six challenges at once, he was surprised—this was the first time. In the past, no one had ever attempted more than a few in a row, let alone six.
Evan smiled, "Yes, I'm sure."
"Alright, let's arrange your first match." The manager then took out twenty tokens, each representing a guardian Evan would face.
He said, "Draw one. Whoever you pick, that's your opponent."
Evan had no idea what was inside the twenty tokens, so he just picked one at random.
The manager picked up the token, glanced at it, and smiled, "You're lucky—you drew a first-tier Heavenly-Immortal."
"Thank you," Evan replied.
"Alright, go on in. We'll wait for you here." said the manager. Evan was then sent into the War God Arena. Since outsiders couldn't enter, once the doors opened and Evan went inside, everyone else waited outside.
"What will it be like inside?" the crowd wondered.
Inside was a combat arena, spacious and wide, with the walls covered in protective layers to prevent them from being broken by attacks.
Standing not far from Evan was a man, who spoke, "Welcome. I'm the one you'll be challenging."
"Thank you," Evan said.
"Passing the trial is simple: you just need to get the lamp behind me. There's a time limit, and the flame can be easily extinguished. If you don't defeat me within half an hour, or if the flame is put out—whether by me or by accident—you fail." the man explained.
"Is that so?" Evan drew a sharp breath when he heard the rules. If the opponent deliberately tried to extinguish the flame, he'd have to both protect it and deal with attacks—truly a troublesome task.
"Got it?" the man asked.
Evan could only accept it—there were rules here. Either defeat the opponent, or just take the lamp; those were the options.
So as soon as they faced off, both went all out. When the guardian realized Evan was only sixth-tier yet had first-tier Heavenly-Immortal strength, he looked at him in disbelief.
Evan smiled, "I'll just grab the lamp first." With a quick burst of speed, he flashed over. By the time the guardian reacted, Evan had already taken the lamp. "Thanks for letting me through."
"You..." The guardian hadn't expected Evan to be so fast. He had underestimated him, but Evan won, and there was nothing he could do except let him leave.
When Evan won the first match in just a moment and walked out, everyone looked astonished.
Evan knew no one else was aware of what happened inside, so he casually said the guardian 'let him through' and quickly moved on to draw for the second round.
Unexpectedly, the second match went just as smoothly. By the end of the fifth round, and finally the sixth, Evan won outright, leaving everyone wondering just how strong he really was.
Originally, people thought the sixth round wouldn't go so easily, but it did. With that, Evan had won completely and earned the right to take the six disciples out.
Seeing there was nothing more to do, Evan led the six out. The onlookers could only show envy—they wanted to leave Ethereal Sanctuary, but lacked the strength or someone to lead them out.
Once everyone from the Low-Rank War God Arena had dispersed, the Heavenly-Immortal finally came out and asked the manager, "Immortal Lord Xiao, why did you let him pick all the easiest ones just now?"
"The easiest? Which eye saw that? Don't think just because you're Immortal Lord Lin's man that I won't speak up." The Low-Rank War God Arena manager was a bit annoyed—he was an Immortal Lord himself, and didn't need a Heavenly-Immortal telling him what to do.
The Heavenly-Immortal hit a wall and didn't dare say more. He hurriedly apologized, "I was mistaken, please forgive me."
"Unbelievable," Immortal Lord Xiao snorted.
"Nothing else? I'll be going then." The Heavenly-Immortal left, frustrated. After he was gone, Immortal Lord Xiao smiled, "Immortal Lord Lin, I don't know what you're up to, always sending people to watch that kid. But the boy's a rare talent—sixth-tier and already fighting at first-tier Heavenly-Immortal. I should cultivate him well; maybe he'll become a fierce war general for Ethereal Sanctuary."
Immortal Lord Lin's Heavenly-Immortal returned, tail between his legs, and reported everything that had happened. Immortal Lord Lin listened, then asked, "That kid went to challenge the Low-Rank War God Arena?"
"Yes, and he won six in a row." the Heavenly-Immortal replied.
"Six? How did he get through so easily?" Immortal Lord Lin frowned.
"I tried to get Immortal Lord Xiao to help, so he'd face tougher opponents, but it seems Immortal Lord Xiao let him pick all the easiest ones." the Heavenly-Immortal answered.
"If you hadn't spoken up, it would have been fine. Still, it's odd—what's Immortal Lord Xiao's angle? Has he gone soft? That's not Ethereal Sanctuary's style." Immortal Lord Lin mused, suspicious.
"So what now?" the Heavenly-Immortal asked curiously.
"He can't escape. He's still part of Ethereal Sanctuary. Even though he can come and go freely now, he'll be back soon. Don't forget—without my permission, he's not allowed to leave Ethereal Sanctuary for more than a month, or he'll end up blacklisted." Immortal Lord Lin laughed.
"It's a pity those Northern Faction people just left like that," said the Heavenly-Immortal.

"Those kids have had enough these years—if they leave, so be it. Nothing to regret. But that Evan, since he arrived, aside from having his limbs crippled by us, everything's gone smoothly for him. So, he can't leave. Just wait, there's more in store for him. Don't think he's the top in the Ten Palaces yet." Immortal Lord Lin sneered.
"What do you mean?" the Heavenly-Immortal asked curiously.
"This is the Earth-Immortal Star System. If no one here can handle him, we'll just send him outside." Immortal Lord Lin sneered.
"But his cultivation isn't high enough for the Heavenly-Immortal realm—he can't be sent up yet," the Heavenly-Immortal frowned.
"Long ago, there were others whose cultivation hadn't reached Heavenly-Immortal, but their strength matched first or even second-tier Heavenly-Immortal. They were promoted ahead of time." Immortal Lord Lin said.
"Really?" the Heavenly-Immortal asked in surprise.
"Alright, leave it for now. When he returns, let me know and I'll make arrangements." Immortal Lord Lin said.
