Jaden Dai of Harmony Hall erupted in fury once again, and news of the incident spread throughout the Dao Domain in the shortest possible time.
The reason was that Jaden Dai went to Great Buddha Mountain, demanding they hand over Dean Carter. However, the sect master of Great Buddha Mountain responded with extreme firmness, refusing Jaden Dai outright without even asking for a reason. Great Buddha Mountain was no longer the Azure Alchemy Sect of old.
Enraged, Jaden Dai shattered the mountain gate of Great Buddha Mountain. Three Dao Forging experts from Great Buddha Mountain joined forces to attack Jaden Dai, along with seven peak Prime Realm cultivators.
The battle nearly destroyed half of Great Buddha Mountain. Jaden Dai killed two Dao Forging experts and four peak Prime Realm cultivators from Great Buddha Mountain. The price he paid was nothing more than some moderate injuries.
In the end, Dean Carter escaped from Great Buddha Mountain on his own initiative, which finally made Jaden Dai give up on annihilating the sect and turn to hunt Dean Carter instead.
After this incident, Great Buddha Mountain sealed its gates and vanished from the Dao Domain.
Only now did the cultivators of the Dao Domain realize who Jaden Dai truly was. He was a figure infamous for his ruthless reputation, the one who single-handedly destroyed the Azure Alchemy Sect years ago.
Now, this notorious figure had emerged once more, and for some trivial matter, he was ready to wipe out Great Buddha Mountain.
To most cultivators in the Dao Domain, it truly was a trivial matter. It was all because Dean Carter, who came from Grandridge, had not passed through the inspection formation set up by Jaden Dai.
Jaden Dai had set up an inspection formation outside Grandridge, which was unreasonable to begin with. Now he was venting his anger on Great Buddha Mountain, showing just how arrogant and domineering he was.
......
Inside the Grand Hall of Origin Dao Sect.
Sect Master Felix Xuan had recently launched sweeping reforms throughout Origin Dao Sect. After killing the Second and Third Elders and removing several Hall and Peak Masters loyal to them, the entire sect underwent a dramatic transformation.
Most of the Hall and Peak Masters present at the Grand Hall conference were newly promoted.
Felix Xuan swept his satisfied gaze over the assembled elders and Peak Masters before declaring loudly, "Our Origin Dao Sect has finally cut away the malignant tumors and returned to the proper path. However, we now lack successors—there isn't a single true genius among our disciples. I propose we immediately begin recruiting new disciples, focusing on those with outstanding talent. Also, that Joe Di who left our outer sect—Valley Master Ann Tu, please see that he is found and brought back as soon as possible. This disciple is truly exceptional."
Everyone understood what Felix Xuan meant. The only real genius in Origin Dao Sect was Keen Jin. Yet Keen Jin was too close to the Second Elder, so no matter how talented he was, Felix Xuan dared not groom him as his successor.
As for the other talented disciples, Ronan Shao was the Second Elder's personal disciple.
Ann Tu Ning stood and cupped her fists, replying, "Yes, Sect Master. Joe Di should still be in Grandridge and hasn't returned yet. Once he does, I'll speak with him. Joe Di knows when to advance and retreat, and his talent is truly astonishing—especially his gift for alchemy. What our Origin Dao Sect needs most are disciples with such talent."
Felix Xuan nodded, about to speak, when a gray-robed steward rushed to the council hall entrance, his tone urgent: "Sect Master, I have an emergency to report!"
Felix Xuan knew that if it weren't urgent, the steward wouldn't report in such haste. He nodded, "Come in and speak."
"Yes, Sect Master." The gray-robed steward entered the hall, stopped after three steps, and bowed, "We just received word: Hall Master Jaden Dai of Harmony Hall went to Great Buddha Mountain, and..."
Before the steward could finish, Felix Xuan interrupted with a frown, "What does Jaden Dai going to Great Buddha Mountain have to do with us?"
The steward grew even more anxious. "Jaden Dai went to Great Buddha Mountain because Dean Carter, a disciple of Great Buddha Mountain, left Grandridge without passing through the inspection formation set up by Jaden Dai outside Grandridge. Jaden Dai demanded Dean Carter be handed over, but Great Buddha Mountain ignored him, so Jaden Dai forcibly attacked their protective formation. Three Dao Forging experts and seven peak Prime Realm cultivators joined forces to attack him, but Emperor Quentin and Emperor Charles of Great Buddha Mountain fell on the spot, along with four other Prime Realm cultivators..."
Felix Xuan drew a sharp breath. He knew Emperor Quentin and Emperor Charles well—either of them alone was more than a match for him. Yet both had perished, and in a siege against Jaden Dai, no less.
The steward continued, "In the end, Dean Carter escaped from Great Buddha Mountain, and Jaden Dai went after him. Only then did Great Buddha Mountain catch its breath and seal its gates..."
Felix Xuan realized that this matter truly did concern Origin Dao Sect—Great Buddha Mountain and Origin Dao Sect were both among the Dao Domain's five great sects.
Now that Great Buddha Mountain had been attacked by Jaden Dai, Origin Dao Sect would have to join the other three great sects in questioning him. But Jaden Dai's fearsome reputation—he destroyed the Azure Alchemy Sect tens of thousands of years ago—would any of the sects dare step forward to challenge him now?
The steward went on, "When Dean Carter left Grandridge without passing Jaden Dai's inspection formation, he wasn't the only one—Joe Di, who just left our sect's outer division, was also among them..."
"What?" Felix Xuan abruptly stood up, sensing that something was amiss.
If this matter hadn't implicated Origin Dao Sect, Felix Xuan could have let it go. But now that it did...
Felix Xuan's lips twitched—Origin Dao Sect's strength was no greater than Great Buddha Mountain's. With the Second and Third Elders now dead, they were even weaker than Great Buddha Mountain.
Before Felix Xuan could speak, a clear voice rang out: "Jaden Dai of Harmony Hall is here to visit Sect Master Felix Xuan of Origin Dao Sect."
Felix Xuan clenched his fists. "Let's go meet Jaden Dai."
"Sect Master, should I notify Master Yan Yun?" one Hall Master asked urgently.
Felix Xuan waved his hand. "No need. If Jaden Dai dares attack our protective formation, Master Yan Yun will know at once."

When Felix Xuan led the Hall Masters and elders of Origin Dao Sect to the sect's array gate, Jaden Dai was already standing there with his hands behind his back.
His expression was relaxed, as if he were simply sightseeing.
"So it's Hall Master Jaden Dai gracing us with your presence. My apologies for the lack of proper welcome," Felix Xuan said, cupping his fists and making an effort to sound courteous.
Jaden Dai didn't return the gesture, merely saying coolly, "Your sect has a disciple named Joe Di. I have some personal matters to discuss with him. Please have Sect Master Felix call him out."
Felix Xuan sighed, "For Hall Master Jaden Dai's information: Joe Di was originally an outer disciple of our Origin Dao Sect. He achieved a top-twenty result in the Grand Dan River competition, and I intended to promote him to a core disciple. However, due to unrest within the sect and opposition from two elders, Joe Di became disheartened and left Origin Dao Sect before entering Grandridge. He is no longer a disciple of our sect."
Jaden Dai frowned, then sent out a flying sword. Moments later, a red light returned to his hand. He nodded to Felix Xuan, "If Joe Di returns, or if you hear any news, notify Harmony Hall immediately. Sorry to trouble you."
With those words, Jaden Dai stepped forward, space rippling faintly, and vanished without a trace.
"That man is truly arrogant," a Peak Lord snorted, his tone full of displeasure.
"Silence!" Elder Zhong Chong barked coldly. He knew better than anyone just how terrifying Hall Master Jaden Dai truly was.
Ann Tu Ning sighed, "Fortunately, Joe Di left Origin Dao Sect ahead of time..."
Felix Xuan sighed again, his tone tinged with melancholy. "This is the incompetence of our Origin Dao Sect. If we were truly strong, then even if Joe Di had left, he would still have been our outer disciple. How could we allow an outsider to interrogate us at our array gate?"
With that, Felix Xuan turned away, his spirits dampened, and sent a voice transmission to Ann Tu Ning: "Valley Master Ann Tu, if you learn of Joe Di's whereabouts, make sure he leaves and goes as far away as possible."
