"Cecilia is pregnant now, so there are many things she can't do conveniently. If Mr. Mo doesn't mind, then my wife and I can do it together." Charles Yin gave a subtle smile. "Mr. Mo won't hold it against us for showing off our affection, will he?"
Max Mo immediately laughed. "President Yin, you really know how to joke! All right, it's settled then!"
After finishing negotiations with Max Mo, Charles Yin drove straight back to Yin Manor.
As soon as he entered, Charles headed straight for Grandma Evelyn Yin's study.
"Young Master, you can't go in. The Madam is still busy." Grandma Evelyn Yin's assistant tried to block Charles, but he swiftly stepped past her.
"Young Master..." The assistant saw she couldn't stop Charles and could only raise her voice to alert Grandma Evelyn Yin inside, "Young Master, Madam..."
"Let him in!" Grandma Evelyn Yin's authoritative voice came from the study. The assistant finally relaxed and stepped aside.
Charles pushed the door open and walked in. Without waiting for Grandma Evelyn Yin to speak, he sat down in front of her and said, "Grandma, why do you insist I agree to cooperate with the Mo Family? The Yin Consortium can achieve this goal in other ways! We control energy in the Middle East and Africa—it's not just the Mo Family that wants to work with us!"
"But none of the other partners have military or political backgrounds. If I hadn't called you earlier, you probably would've rejected this deal, right?" Grandma Evelyn Yin put down her pen, took off her glasses, and calmly looked at her grandson. "Charles, tell me, why are you so against working with the Mo Family? Is it just because you don't like Max Mo?"
Charles was momentarily speechless.
Grandma Evelyn Yin looked calmly at Charles and said, "So if it's not because of Max Mo, is it because of Cecilia Gu that you don't want to discuss this partnership? If I remember correctly, just over a month ago, you really disliked your wife and strongly opposed this marriage."
The anger in Charles's eyes instantly faded.
With just that one sentence, Charles knew his grandmother must know everything—and even things he himself didn't know!
As the chairwoman of the Yin Consortium, having held power for decades, what could possibly escape her notice?
"Max Mo's fiancée, Nora Yun, looks exactly like Cecilia Gu, doesn't she?" Grandma Evelyn Yin spoke softly. "Aren't you curious about the relationship between Cecilia and Nora Yun?"
Charles quickly looked up at Grandma Evelyn Yin. "Grandma, do you know other things that I don't?"
Grandma Evelyn Yin smiled softly.
"She was an extraordinarily talented young woman!" Grandma Evelyn Yin didn't answer Charles's question, but said softly, "She rarely appeared in public, but those few glimpses were enough to astonish the world."
Charles decisively stopped talking and just looked at his grandmother.
He came this time to demand an explanation.
