Chapter 451: Secret Revelations

Wh-what... what is going on here?

Everyone was stunned by this bizarre scene, especially Dalson. Even the spell he was chanting stopped halfway, as if against his will.

It couldn’t be helped—this was just too strange. The Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf was only the size of a palm, while the Ironclad Dire Tiger was like a moving mountain, its body countless times larger.

Not to mention their strength. Even if the magical shackles on the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf were broken, it would barely reach the power of a Title Archmage. In the eyes of a level 38 Ironclad Dire Tiger, that was like an ant—one stomp and the wolf would be nothing but a smear of blood.

But now, the Ironclad Dire Tiger’s eyes were filled with terror. It was crouched on the ground, trembling uncontrollably.

It looked exactly like it had met its natural enemy.

How could this be...

Even Leon was at a loss. He’d come from thirty thousand years in the future, and he’d never heard of the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf having any sort of intimidating effect on other magical beasts.

What on earth was happening?

Leon narrowed his eyes, staring intently at the tiny silhouette of the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf ahead.

Awooo...

At that moment, the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf let out a long, trailing howl, and the Ironclad Dire Tiger shuddered as if it had just escaped from the gates of hell. Its huge body trembled again and again, and when the pup-like howl faded, it bolted into the depths of the forest without looking back—much faster than when it had attacked Leon’s group.

It’s gone...

Everyone exchanged glances, and even Leon let out a sigh of relief. With a sweep of magical power, Leon caught the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf in his hand, inspecting it from all angles. Although it had spent months in the demi-plane and grown strong—almost matching a level twenty-seven or twenty-eight magical beast—it shouldn’t have terrified the Ironclad Dire Tiger like that.

He distinctly remembered that back in the Auridge Mountains, when the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf mingled among the Frost Wolves, none of them reacted to it the way the Ironclad Dire Tiger just had...

Awooo...

The Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf let out a dissatisfied howl, its tiny paw rubbing against Leon’s palm, then patting its flat belly. Its small, grayish eyes were fixed on Leon.

This time, Leon didn’t hold back. He grabbed a handful of magical beast cores—over a dozen, all above level twenty—and generously rewarded the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf. If every magical beast on the eighth floor was as easily spooked as that Ironclad Dire Tiger, their group would breeze right through.

At first, Leon couldn’t help but wonder—was it really wise to pin their hopes on this little guy?
