Follow the Vine to Find the Culprit

In the end, Lily Lan still went with Donna Dong to the 96th Division.

Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon, Ian Song received his reinstatement order.

As soon as Ian arrived at the Special Police base, he caused quite a stir. After all, such a major incident happened yesterday, yet our minister could return safe and sound and be reinstated smoothly. No matter how you look at it, that's impressive.

Also, the injured prison guard has already been sent to the hospital and is recovering well. He should be discharged in three to five days.

Not long after entering the office, Gordon Gao knocked and came in.

After chatting for a bit, Gordon suddenly became a little shy and said, "Minister, I really admire you! Even in such a situation, you managed to escape danger!"

"Are you disappointed?" Ian asked with a smile.

"Of course not! Am I that kind of person?" Gordon quickly blushed and assured him.

Several expensive flying cars entered Mesa City, finally landing on the top floor parking lot of the city's best hotel. Ten young men and women stepped out of the cars, all with noticeably pale faces.

Leading them were a man and a woman.

The man wore a suit, his hair neatly combed, exuding a gentlemanly aura.

The woman was dressed provocatively, her whole demeanor radiating a cold, indifferent vibe.

As for the other eight, the way they looked at this pair was filled with respect and awe.

Soon, all ten checked into the hotel.

In the presidential suite, the man and woman sat on the sofa while the other eight stood respectfully in two rows.

The man spoke: "This mission was personally assigned by Lords Cici and Joy, so no matter what, we must complete it. Within half a month, we need to develop at least fifty thousand fourth- or fifth-generation blood citizens. Is that clear?"

"Rest assured, Lord Leon, we will definitely complete the mission!"

The eight responded in unison.

"You are only third-generation citizens, so your abilities are limited during the day. Go rest in your rooms now and begin operations tonight!"

Yes!

The eight third-generation vampires accepted the order and left, leaving only the man and woman in the presidential suite.

"Liza, I heard there's an ancient town in Mesa City. Why don't we go take a look?" Leon said, trying to ingratiate himself.

Liza Li's face darkened: "Leon Liang, I hope you understand, we're here in Mesa City for the mission, not to play. If we fail and Lords Cici and Joy hold us accountable, I won't let you off!"

Leon Liang said confidently, "Relax, there's plenty of time. We'll definitely finish the mission. Besides, work needs a balance of labor and rest. Are you sure you don't want to check out the ancient town?"

"No need!" Liza Li replied coldly. "I need to gather intelligence on Mesa City and see if there's anything we should be wary of."

Hearing this, Leon Liang scoffed, "Liza, you're being overly cautious. We're both viscounts, even ordinary War Gods aren't our match. Besides, we can fly and heal quickly. How could a small place like Mesa City threaten us?"

Better safe than sorry. I'll go investigate anyway!

With those words, Liza Li got up and walked out.

Bang!

Once the door closed, Leon Liang's face darkened and he cursed under his breath: "Damn bitch, one day I'll get you into bed!"

Night fell, dark as ink.

Except for one particular area, the rest of Mesa City was extremely quiet.

That area was known as the Never-Night District, filled with bars, fight clubs, brothels, and other entertainment venues.

Tonight, eight pale-faced men and women suddenly appeared in this district.

Because they were all either handsome or beautiful, they were frequently approached in the entertainment venues. The eight accepted almost every invitation and soon went to hotel rooms with their new acquaintances.

Inside a hotel room.

Squelch!

The sound of something sharp piercing flesh—it was a vampire's fangs sinking into a middle-aged man's neck.

After sucking some of the man's blood, the female vampire revealed a satisfied smile.

After about five minutes, the unconscious middle-aged man awoke and knelt before the female vampire. "Luke Lu pays respects to his master!"

If a vampire drains only one-third of a human's blood and returns some of their own, in five minutes the person will become a blood slave. If all the blood is drained, the victim dies and does not become a vampire.

"Stand up!" the female vampire commanded proudly.

Once he stood, she continued slowly, "Luke Lu, I expect you to develop a hundred blood slaves within the next half month. If you fail, I will kill you!"

"Yes, Master! I will complete the task!" Luke Lu promised.

In another hotel room, as soon as they entered, the woman in leather shouted excitedly, "Joe Jiao, quick, kiss me!"

Alright!

Joe Jiao agreed and leaned toward the woman's neck, but soon there was a soft stabbing sound and her eyes bulged.

Similar scenes played out in hotels all over the city.

Meanwhile, in the presidential suite of Mesa City's best hotel, Leon Liang was passionately making love to a beautiful woman.

Afterwards, the woman, lost in bliss, said, "Leon, you're amazing. I wish I could be with you forever!"

"That's easy!" Leon Liang grinned strangely, and two fangs suddenly grew from the corners of his mouth.

Seeing this, the woman's eyes widened in shock. "You...!"

Squelch!

Leon Liang's fangs sank deep into the woman's pale neck.

At dawn, the vampires gathered again in Leon Liang's suite.

"Lord Leon, Lady Liza, last night I created fifteen descendants," reported a female vampire.

"Lords, last night I created seventeen descendants!" another male vampire reported.

The other six reported in turn—the highest was twenty-two descendants in one night. In total, the eight created one hundred fifty-six new descendants.

They ordered these one hundred fifty-six people to each create a hundred more descendants within half a month. If everyone succeeds, there will be fifteen thousand six hundred new descendants.

And in the days to come, they could keep growing their numbers. As long as tonight's pace continued, the mission would be easily accomplished.

At dawn, Ian Song drove to the Special Police base.

But as soon as he entered the base, his gaze fell on a Special Police officer standing guard.

He quickly looked away and walked into the office building as if nothing had happened. Once inside, his face darkened—he realized the officer was no longer human, but had become a vampire.

There were still fang marks on the man's neck, meaning he was likely bitten last night.

Ian Song didn't arrest the officer—he wanted to follow the trail and find the vampire who turned him.
