Making Trouble at the Gate

2/27/2026

Victor Yue was completely immobilized, seized by Evan Yang, his eyes wide with shock. He stared at Evan and demanded, "What did you do to me? Why can't I move at all?"

His words stunned the Hell Palace crowd, and even the young woman was curious about Evan Yang. Gavin White, however, was unfazed—she'd seen Evan do this before. Leah, too, watched Evan with interest; to immobilize a Heavenly Dao expert required terrifying power.

"There's no reason—you're just not strong enough. So, still feeling cocky?" Evan Yang grinned.

"Damn it, Hell Palace won't let you off. You'd better wise up and let me go," Victor Yue snorted coldly.

Evan Yang chuckled, "Hell Palace sent the Night Squad after me and my wife before. I haven't settled that score yet. Just as well—however many Hell Palace people come, I'll kill that many."

With that, he sealed Victor Yue's mouth and tossed him into a Space Ring. The Hell Palace crowd shouted, "Let Victor Yue go!"

"I'm not letting him go. What can you do about it?" Evan Yang said with a smile.

"Damn it, everyone, attack!" someone shouted, leading the charge. The crowd surged forward, but Evan Yang, still brimming with power, wielded the Limitless Spear and swept up anyone who approached, then flung them aside. Those struck collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony, scaring the rest into backing off.

Evan Yang smiled at them, "Anyone else want to try?"

"Just wait, Hell Palace won't let you off," someone cried in terror. The survivors gathered up the wounded and retreated. Once they'd gone, Evan Yang quickly reverted to his normal form, patted his chest, and muttered to himself, "If I'd stayed like that any longer, my body would've given out."

Just then, Gavin White and Leah walked over. Leah looked at Evan Yang curiously and said, "You can get that strong?"

"Yeah, sometimes." Evan Yang laughed. Leah realized she had lost; if Evan had used this form last time, she wouldn't have stood a chance.

"So that's how it is. Guess I definitely lost last time." Leah said.

Evan Yang grinned, "Does winning or losing really matter?"

Meanwhile, the young woman behind them hadn't left yet. She spoke to Evan Yang and the others, "May I ask your names?"

"You're not leaving?" Evan Yang asked curiously, wondering what connection this woman had to Hell Palace.

"I'm not with them, so I don't need to leave." Miss Gu replied. The three looked at her, curious about her intentions.

"So what do you want?" Evan Yang asked, still curious.

"I'm from Immortal Peak Villa. I hope we can be friends. Don't misunderstand—I'm not from Hell Palace. It's just that Hell Palace has kept us suppressed for a long time." Miss Gu explained.

Evan Yang, Gavin White, and Leah exchanged glances, then told her who they were. Miss Gu shared a bit about Immortal Peak Villa. After hearing her story, Gavin and Leah, speaking as fellow women, indignantly vowed to help Immortal Peak Villa break free from Hell Palace one day.

"What do you think?" Gavin White asked.

"First you'd have to deal with Hell Palace. Otherwise, Immortal Peak Villa would have to move. Which do you think is easier?" Evan Yang asked.

Gavin White and Leah looked a bit awkward—neither option was easy. Miss Gu smiled and said, "I'm just glad you care. It's an honor to be your friend. If you ever get the chance, come visit Immortal Peak Villa. I'll head out now."

"Alright." The three watched Miss Gu leave. After she was gone, Evan Yang muttered, "So, what should we do now?"

"Obviously, we should go hunt for treasures." Leah said, then decided to split up from Evan and Gavin—she didn't want to be stuck between a couple.

After Leah left, Gavin White asked Evan Yang, "Are you alright?" Evan replied, "Of course not. Just look at me."

He lifted his shirt, making Gavin White blush. "How are you so shameless?" she said, embarrassed.

"We're husband and wife, what's there to be embarrassed about? Look, look." Evan Yang pointed at his chest.

Gavin White glanced at his chest and saw patches of green and red. She felt bad for him. "What happened?"

"Side effects. I pushed my power too far." Evan Yang said with a bitter smile.
