Lily Liu?
Ryan Ling froze for a second. Man, if he didn't spill the beans to Lily Liu soon, she was gonna lose it—probably chew him out so hard his ears would ring. Worst case, the whole messy Angie Chen situation might blow up in his face! Why did his life always feel like a ticking time bomb?
The more Ryan thought about it, the more flustered he got. But he had no choice—he picked up the call anyway.
"Sis!" Ryan answered, sounding way too eager.
"I can't sleep. Can you come to my room for a bit?" Lily Liu's voice was so calm it was almost spooky.
"But..." Ryan swallowed hard, about to say he'd already crashed, but Lily Liu didn't give him a chance—she hung up straight away.
Sigh! Ryan let out a long breath. Lily Liu hadn't gone off on him yet, but he knew—when a girl acts way too chill, you better brace yourself, 'cause the blow-up's probably gonna be nuclear. Girls only go quiet when they're about to go full volcano.
Looks like I'm definitely getting chewed out tonight.
But hey, this was gonna happen sooner or later—no point hiding. Lily Liu's my big sis; when push comes to shove, she's always got my back. And yeah, things got spicy with Angie Chen, but maybe I've got some "tragic backstory" to play if Lily asks. Worst comes to worst, I’ll just blame fate.
Ryan took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and headed for Lily Liu's room.
