Primordial Zither

12/19/2025

The raging mountain of fists crashed down in succession. With a resounding crack, Cynthia Xing's domain shattered completely. Joe Di was secretly delighted—this woman hadn’t fled after her domain broke. As long as his fists kept coming, no matter what tricks she had left, she wouldn’t be able to escape. It seemed he had overestimated her.

Crack! A faint cyan radiance burst forth, abruptly halting Joe Di’s relentless barrage of fists, as if blocked by a thin layer of light.

The next moment, Joe Di heard the sound of Cynthia Xing’s bones fracturing. She spat out a spray of blood, and then her entire figure vanished into the void, leaving no trace behind.

Joe Di did not pursue Cynthia Xing. He hadn’t misjudged her—he really couldn’t kill her. Besides, he knew she hadn’t gone far; she had only stopped about a hundred feet away.

That layer of cyan radiance was a top-tier defensive treasure.

Even though Cynthia Xing was only a hundred feet from Joe Di, he knew full well he still couldn’t capture her. If she didn’t have that layer of cyan protective treasure, he could easily seize her with his law-evading technique. But with it, even if he tried to grab her, it would be futile.

Cynthia Xing remained, clearly knowing he couldn’t catch her.

Cynthia Xing wiped the blood from her lips and took out a pill, swallowing it. Joe Di’s divine sense could clearly see her shattered bones rapidly healing, her injuries vanishing almost instantly.

It was clear the pill Cynthia Xing had just swallowed was at least a Prime Dao Pill or better—a truly formidable healing treasure. This woman was indeed formidable.

After taking the pill, Cynthia Xing looked calmly at Joe Di and said, "You are very strong. I believe that if my cultivation were lower than yours, I would definitely not be your match. The five great Creation treasures have already been gathered. What puzzles me is, how did you manage to cultivate the Creation Method?"

"Creation Method?" Joe Di frowned at Cynthia Xing and said calmly, "From now on, stay far away from me. Here’s some advice: go back and cultivate properly. Otherwise, when my strength rises another level, your little tricks won’t let you escape from me again."

Cynthia Xing hadn’t expected Joe Di to be so blunt, but she didn’t leave. More than anyone, she wanted to know why Joe Di’s power was so overwhelming. After all, she herself cultivated the Creation Method, yet even at the same level, she couldn’t match Joe Di—he was leagues ahead. If she couldn’t figure out why, it would haunt her. Her only shortcoming was lacking a Creation treasure.

She believed that once she understood the reason, she would one day be able to avenge her old grudge. To her, someone like Minghe was nothing but trash, yet she’d been forced to self-destruct by such a person. No matter how many lifetimes passed, Cynthia Xing could never let it go.

Seeing Cynthia Xing about to speak again, Joe Di stepped forward, his tone icy. "I’ll count to three. If you’re still here by then, I’ll hunt you to the ends of the earth and finish you off."

Joe Di wasn’t bluffing. Though he couldn’t kill Cynthia Xing right now, if he truly set his mind to chase her down, unless she had a pile of Realmshatter Talismans, she’d have no choice but to keep fleeing across the universe.

But that would be a huge waste of his time.

"Three..." Joe Di always started with the number three when he counted. This time, as soon as he uttered it, Cynthia Xing’s figure vanished without a trace.

Joe Di didn’t chase after her; he couldn’t afford to waste that much time. He was starting to wonder if Cynthia Xing was a worm in his gut—how did she know he’d only say "three"?

She really was a decisive woman.

"Brother Di, I didn’t expect you to be so powerful—even Cynthia Xing isn’t your match!" Quinn Fang said excitedly. No wonder Joe Di didn’t fear the Xian Family; he was this strong all along.

Joe Di patted Quinn Fang and said, "With me here, Cynthia Xing definitely won’t dare make a move. But that woman is truly terrifying. If you ever encounter her in the future, you’ll likely have no way out. So I suggest that after you leave Xianhai, focus on your cultivation. Cynthia Xing is decisive and ruthless—if I’m not mistaken, your family may not escape her wrath."

Quinn Fang had already guessed his family was doomed. Eyes reddening, he pulled out an ancient, single-stringed zither and handed it to Joe Di. "Big Brother, that woman was after this zither. It’s called the Primordial Zither—my ancestor acquired it by chance. I can’t protect it anymore, so I’m giving it to you."

Joe Di took the Primordial Zither in surprise. As soon as it was in his hands, a clear note seemed to pierce straight into the depths of his soul, and he felt his spirit become much purer. But the zither quickly returned to silence.

This was definitely no ordinary zither. Joe Di didn’t know how to play, so he looked at Quinn Fang and asked, "Why does this zither have only one string?"

Quinn Fang replied, embarrassed, "It’s because I can only play one string. My father said that at its peak, the Primordial Zither should have nine strings. The others haven’t appeared because I’m not strong enough."

Joe Di placed the Primordial Zither back in Quinn Fang’s hands. "Brother Quinn, keep this zither for yourself. It’s likely an innate treasure. If you ever have the strength to awaken all nine strings, you might not need to fear Cynthia Xing. Even if you’re not her match, you’ll have a chance to escape. If I take it from you, you’ll surely die. Hold onto it, and you might one day surpass her."

Joe Di knew perfectly well that even if he took the Primordial Zither for Quinn Fang, Cynthia Xing would still kill him if she found him.

Feeling Joe Di truly didn’t want his Primordial Zither, Quinn Fang put it away and bowed to Joe Di. "Thank you, Big Brother. Once I leave Xianhai, I will devote myself to cultivation and won’t come out until I’ve achieved the Dao."

Joe Di nodded and handed Quinn Fang a jade slip. "This is a movement technique called Spirit Shift. Take it and cultivate it in the future."

As for pills, Joe Di didn’t give any to Quinn Fang. The path Quinn Fang needed to walk was not that of an ordinary cultivator. Even if Joe Di gave him pills to advance to the Transformation or Prime Realm, it wouldn’t help much. Cynthia Xing could still kill him instantly.

Only by seeking out his own cultivation resources and climbing step by step could Quinn Fang develop true survival skills. Without ability, he was doomed to fall, and Joe Di couldn’t help him.

As for giving Quinn Fang Spirit Shift, it was because Joe Di was certain he couldn’t find a better movement technique. With Spirit Shift, at least Quinn Fang would have a chance to escape.

Quinn Fang thanked Joe Di and put away the Spirit Shift. He still didn’t know just how powerful the technique was.

"Let’s go. We need to search for Extreme Glaze Silver." Seeing Quinn Fang stow away Spirit Shift, Joe Di dropped the subject of Cynthia Xing. He was certain she was still lurking nearby.

The entire area was shrouded in a dark gray haze. Aside from the chill and the scent of seawater, there were only uneven reefs and stretches of barren land. There were also ancient shells, weathered coral, and other remnants whose age was impossible to tell.

Walking through it felt like entering a seabed with no water.

This was a newly opened secret realm, concealed by a natural formation. Joe Di and Quinn Fang spent a whole day searching, but the best they found was a piece of third-grade Extreme Glaze Silver.

"Big Brother, I doubt there’s any high-grade Extreme Glaze Silver here." Quinn Fang knew Xianhai better than Joe Di. Since the secret realm had just opened and everyone had only just entered, there was no way it had already been thoroughly searched. After a whole day with no sign of good Extreme Glaze Silver, it was likely there really wasn’t any here.

"Wait..." Joe Di stopped searching with his spiritual sense and opened the Eye of the Way. Instantly, he discovered subtle layers of gray hidden in the space around them.

Joe Di surged his God Origin, reaching into the void where the gray layers gathered. It was as if he’d grabbed a solid wall. He pulled out a chunk of starry silver ore the size of a washbasin.

"Seventh-grade Extreme Glaze Silver..." Quinn Fang’s voice trembled with excitement. He’d never seen true seventh-grade Extreme Glaze Silver before.

(That’s all for today’s update, friends. Good night!)
