Handsome

The Deputy Director of the Education Bureau watched Damon Deng from the side, while Deng’s face grew increasingly grim.

He hesitated for a moment, then tried to negotiate: “How about we add another student representative this year?”

“Eric Yu really is outstanding in every way, and the other student is also excellent. Honestly, either of them would make a great representative. Both are fine.”

Deng had barely finished speaking.

Director Zhao was already shaking his head: “The reason being the student representative of Capitalview First High is such a big deal is because you only pick one every year. If you break that rule and add another this year, what’s the point of the title?”

“Principal Deng, are you trying to ruin your school’s reputation, or are you planning to embarrass my Education Bureau?”

Director Zhao snorted coldly, said no more, and strode off.

“Old Deng, think it over. Eric Yu is more than qualified as student representative—everyone accepts it. As for the other student, whether he’s fit for the role doesn’t really affect the bigger picture!”

“No need to make everyone unhappy over one student. We do our jobs, follow the rules, and work together—that’s how we get the best results.”

“Director Zhao has high hopes for Capitalview First High. Think about how much funding the Bureau has approved for you over the years. And, as a friend, let me tell you—your application for the library expansion is being decided in the next few days.”

The Deputy Director played the 'good cop,' speaking in a low voice.

Damon Deng lifted his head and glanced at Director Zhao, who was already surrounded by reporters and the crowd. He sighed, "Fine, tell the Director. As for the students, I'll handle it."

But this is a bit much, and that student isn’t as simple as you think…

The Deputy Director smiled, patted Deng’s shoulder, and said, "That’s better. Whether that student is simple or not doesn’t matter to us. And I promise, if anything goes wrong, Director Zhao will have your back!"

Although he was the principal of Capitalview First High, Damon Deng still didn’t dare overstep in front of the Director of the Education Bureau, especially since the next round of school funding was still pending.

Wendy Wen, go tell Evan Lin to trim his speech draft. He won’t be speaking as the student representative anymore.

After thinking for a moment, Deng added, "Have him prepare some reflections on being recommended for university. He’ll share those on stage."

Now that Evan Lin has been handpicked for admission to Clearwater University by Professor Gordon Gu, it’s an honor far above ordinary recommendations. Plus, Evan just crushed the Hundred-School Joint Exam, so Wendy Wen can’t fathom who could possibly be more qualified to be this year’s student representative.

She didn’t hesitate and hurried to the door of Class 12.

The bell for the end of second period had already rung, and students were streaming out.

The boys’ eyes lit up when they saw Wendy Wen dressed up.

But no one dared go up and chat—everyone in Class 12 basically agreed that whenever Wendy Wen, Ivy Liang, or Lynn Chen showed up at the classroom door, it was always for Evan Lin.

A girl blurted out, starry-eyed, then blushed and covered her mouth in embarrassment.

Wendy Wen instinctively turned her head at the sound, and saw Evan Lin walking over, looking calm and a bit lazy.

He was already wearing the school uniform Wendy had stuffed into his arms that morning. The British-style outfit perfectly matched Evan’s always-cool, unruffled aura, giving him an extra touch of gentlemanly flair. With his cultivation rising, his physique had become even more streamlined, making the uniform fit him flawlessly.

The early spring sunlight poured down the corridor, outlining Evan Lin in gold as he adjusted his cufflinks.

Beside the teaching building, the sycamore trees rustled as the wind brushed their branches together.

In that instant, Wendy Wen’s heart skipped a few beats—she stared at Evan Lin in a daze, mind blank.

"Something up?"

Evan Lin walked up, ignoring everyone else’s stares. He looked Wendy Wen straight in the eye and asked calmly.
