Full of Swagger

"What kind of help?"

"I heard there's a kind of talisman that can control a person's words and actions. Can you help me plant one on the guy who framed my big brother? And make him change his testimony?"

"You sure know a lot!" Bianca said, raising an eyebrow.

"Hehe, I just heard it from somewhere," Grace chuckled.

"I do have a Control Talisman, but here’s the thing—the Blue Moon Kingdom’s spiritual energy is way too thin. At best, I can only make it work for half a quarter of an hour," Bianca Whitefan said.

"Half a quarter... that's plenty!"

"Alright then!" Bianca Whitefan agreed.

"Bianca, I have no idea how to thank you!" Grace threw her arms around her.

Bianca Whitefan smiled and hugged her back. "Don’t get too excited yet. In theory, this should work, but isn’t that guy locked up with the army? How are you going to sneak in and plant the Control Talisman on him?"

"I can ask my big brother to take me in. Just teach me how to use the talisman, and I’ll do it myself!"

"Alright, that works."

Bianca Whitefan took out a talisman paper, burned it, and dissolved the ashes in water.

Strangely enough, there were no ashes in the water, just a faint yellowish tint.

Then she poured the talisman water into a small gourd and handed it to Grace. "When the time comes, use your ice magic to turn the water into an ice needle and inject a tiny bit into his body. He won’t even feel a thing."

"Okay. But... after I’m done, should I come back here to find you?" Grace glanced at Leon Zane, who still looked grumpy. "Is the Imperial Advisor going to say you’re not around again?"

Bianca Whitefan smiled and leaned in to whisper to Grace, "Just bring Cutie Pie with you. My senior brother won’t give you any trouble."

"Cutie Pie?" Grace was puzzled. "Why?"

"He likes Cutie Pie. Whenever he sees him, he’ll always treat you with extra respect."

"Him? He likes my Cutie Pie?" Grace looked at Leon Zane, still confused.

"What are you two talking about?" Leon Zane asked suspiciously when he saw them whispering.

"We were just saying, Senior Brother looks especially dashing and charming today," Bianca said.

Leon Zane snorted coldly, his attitude full of swagger.

Grace: "Pfft!"

"What are you laughing at?" Leon Zane asked, face darkening.

"Nothing, nothing," Grace said quickly. "The Imperial Advisor really is suave and handsome."

"Cut it out!" Leon Zane turned and walked away. "Go do whatever you need to do! Move, move, move! I’m going to sleep!"

So Grace left.

After returning, she went to find Jason Zhuo, disguised herself as a soldier, and snuck into the garrison with him overnight.

Although Jason Zhuo is under investigation, he still has three days left there.

During those three days, he’s still a Spirit Cavalry Commander.

Bringing an inconspicuous rookie into the barracks was actually pretty easy.

Leo Miles wasn’t locked up in a real cell, just a temporary holding area.

That holding area had a door in front and a small iron window in the back.

The iron window was tiny, just a bit bigger than a human head, with bars welded across it—and behind it was a steep cliff.

Jason Zhuo led Grace to the back of the holding area. Grace pulled out her Magic Grappling Rope, anchored it to the wall, and climbed up to the window like a gecko.

There was a lamp lit inside. Through the window, she could see the whole room.

There was nothing in there except a military cotton pad on the floor and a filthy blanket.

A man with messy hair was clutching a sharp stone, scratching something onto the wall.
