Arrange for You to Meet Him

Yet, he always treated her as if she were invisible.

Feeling bored, she said something to Elder Jonathan Hill and slipped out.

Leon Zane was waiting for her outside. When the two of them reached a secluded spot, Leon looked her up and down, his eyes full of curiosity. "It's only been a few days, and you're already a Level Five Spirit Master?"

"You can see other people's cultivation level too?"

"Of course! I'm Dragon Abyss's—Second War God. If I couldn't see your human cultivation, could I even call myself a god?"

"Alright... Second War God..."

"Did you inherit Luke Kee's legacy?" Leon suddenly asked, sounding pretty sure of himself.

"Come on, maybe not everywhere, but do you know where we are right now? We're smack in the middle of a mob of Spiritual Alchemists. Every single one of them is dying for the Alchemist God's legacy!"

"If you didn't inherit Luke Kee's legacy, then how did you cure the Winterbane Poison?"

"I can't cure it! If I could, would my mom be sleeping in an ice coffin?" Grace shook her head.

"Then how did you get the recipe for the Winterbane antidote?"

"I never got the recipe!" Grace replied seriously. "Wasn't it you who got it?"

"Me? How could it be me? Earlier, it was Crown Prince Evan Xiao himself who said you could cure Winterbane Poison!"

"I have no idea," Grace said. "But it definitely wasn't me!"

Leon Zane got anxious. "Just tell me, what's the big deal? I won't do anything to you!"

"I've bugged him a bunch of times to go see you, but he always shot me down," Leon said. "But hey, tonight might be our lucky break! Let me arrange for you two to meet—maybe seeing your face will finally shake something loose in that thick skull of his!"

"It's not that bad, is it?" Leon said, unconvinced.

"Maybe not elsewhere, but do you know where we are? We're surrounded by Spiritual Alchemists. Every single one of them wants the Alchemist God's legacy!"

"...I'm just asking you in private. It's not like I'm going to announce it to the whole world."

"Anyway... from now on, don't mention it again!" Grace said.

"I know you must have it. Otherwise, how could a normal person’s cultivation grow so fast!"

Grace switched the topic directly: "When you guys arrived, I overheard the elders talking. Seems like you come to Blaze Summit a lot? The Grand Elder seems to know you pretty well!"

Leon Zane boasted, "You don’t know? The Second Elder of your Spirit Alliance is my master. I learned medicine from him."

"Really?" No wonder she felt Elder Daniel Tan always spoke with such confidence.

Back at the Elders’ Council, he was especially fired up when looking down on the Ye Clan.

Turns out he’s got a Divine Clan member as a disciple, and it’s the Second War God!

"Truer than true!" Leon said.

"But why would a dignified Divine Clan member learn human medicine?"

Leon’s expression dimmed a bit. He shook his head and didn’t answer.

"Forget I asked!" Anything related to medicine always seemed to lead to sadness. "Hey, are you guys staying here tonight?"

"Yeah." Leon saw her hopeful look and said with sympathy, "Actually, I’ve talked to Crown Prince Evan Xiao about you two."

"Oh…" Grace nodded.

She knew this, and was genuinely grateful to Leon Zane.

"But, you know how he is… He's always been like that. Romance means nothing to him. If it’s not cultivation or Drake Abyss business, he’s just not interested in anything else."

Grace stayed quiet.

"I’ve asked him so many times to meet you, but he always refused," Leon said. "How about tonight, I set up a meeting for you two? Maybe seeing you will jog his memory!"
