Venting Anger

12/2/2025

That pure, immaculate white mercilessly reaped lives, making one think of the snow-white silk drapes in a funeral hall. Did Morgan Shangguan have such thoughts when she chose this weapon?

"You... you are Fiona Yun!"

After dealing with those reckless fools, Morgan Shangguan stood quietly among the corpses, still appearing calm and ethereal, like an immortal. This aura, combined with her weapon, made Violet Snow recognize her identity.

Violet Snow was gravely injured by Damien Gray. All her followers were dead, and no one paid her any attention. That's why she remained outside, unable to leave. At this moment, her eyes were filled with disbelief, but her reason told her that her guess was correct!

Right now, she wasn't thinking about anything else—the only thing on her mind was that the Ghostmaster had been taken away!

The Cloud Guildmaster—this identity had only recently emerged, but people already linked her with the Ghostmaster. They stood on equal footing, something Violet Snow had always desired but could never attain. Was this why the Ghostmaster chose to be with her? Jealousy filled Violet Snow's heart, and she failed to notice that Damien Gray had already opened his eyes!

Damien Gray walked toward Morgan Shangguan, pulled her into his arms, and asked with a gentle laugh, "Feeling better now?" His indifferent tone made it seem as if those who had died were merely toys for Morgan to vent her anger on—utterly insignificant.

Morgan Shangguan's face remained cold and silent for a moment. Suddenly, she grabbed his collar and pressed her lips to his, biting the corner of his mouth fiercely. "We'll settle this when we get back!" she snarled.

Damien Gray was injured because he tried to protect her. She, on the other hand, only suffered minor wounds that wouldn't kill her, while Damien Gray almost died. How could she not be angry?

Damien Gray licked the wound at the corner of his mouth, then lowered his head to kiss her lips and smiled, "Alright, you can settle it however you wish!"

Morgan Shangguan narrowed her eyes dangerously. Did he really think she wouldn't do anything to him? Suddenly, she curled her lips into a smile, gently stroked his chin, and said softly, "Then, Ghostmaster, why don't you find your own bed from now on? How about that?"

Damien Gray frowned, trying his best to win her back, and pleaded pitifully, "Mo'er, it's cold sleeping alone!"

Cold? Morgan Shangguan couldn't be bothered to respond. With his martial skills, he could sleep in the snow and be perfectly fine!

Without a hint of reluctance, she pulled his arm from her waist and walked out, instructing the little ghosts to start transporting the treasure.

After a while, seeing that Damien Gray hadn't followed, Morgan Shangguan turned back and said, "Are you planning to find your own bed for your next life too?"

Hearing this, Damien Gray hurried after her, a trace of amusement flickering in his eyes. As he passed by Violet Snow, he made sure to finish her off.

Violet Snow belonged to the Blood Wraith's faction. Since she had learned Morgan Shangguan's true identity, she couldn't be allowed to live. However, because Damien Gray disliked her, he wasn't about to let her die easily.

Watching Damien Gray's departing figure, Violet Snow's wide eyes were filled with grief and resentment. She never expected to die at his hands, nor did she expect that, even at the moment of her death, he wouldn't spare her a single glance.

Violet Snow lay motionless on the ground, feeling her blood slowly seep out, her body growing cold, and experiencing the terror of life slipping away.

Ethan Gu pulled Maxwell Jing along, saying, "Let's go!" He never once looked at Galen Gu, who had been killed by Morgan Shangguan. No matter how Galen Gu treated him, he was still his father, but Ethan Gu couldn't forgive the harm he had caused Maxwell Jing. In Ethan's heart, Galen Gu had long ceased to matter.

Noah Duanmu glanced at Liam Duanmu and sighed, "Big Brother..."

Liam Duanmu simply watched Morgan Shangguan's departing figure, his eyes filled with complex, unreadable emotions. After a moment, he finally spoke, "You all should go."

Noah Duanmu frowned, "Big Brother, the martial world has already fallen. You and Father shouldn't stubbornly try to uphold justice anymore. The Grandmaster's Estate isn't strong enough to stand against the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild!"

Liam Duanmu nodded. Muriel Murong glanced at him, then pulled Noah Duanmu away. Liam probably wanted to be alone for a while.

Claude Yun and Quentin Hua had already left. Liam Duanmu stood quietly in the blood-scented, empty hall for a long time before murmuring, "If I could do it all over again, even if I had to go against the world, I would protect you instead of playing the role of a righteous adversary! I hope that in my next life, I can live more freely."

He laughed at himself. Originally, he had been unwilling to accept it—he never thought himself inferior to Damien Gray, only that he lost because of his stance. But now, he truly understood.

Damien Gray and Morgan Shangguan—one the Ghostmaster, the other the Cloud Guildmaster—were always on opposing sides. Two tigers cannot share one mountain; that's how it's always been.

But he was different from Damien Gray. The justice he clung to had always bound him.

Even if Morgan Shangguan had accepted him in the past, after what happened today, he could never face her again. Was Morgan always able to see through everything?

There was nothing wrong with persisting in justice—it’s just that he hadn’t done it well enough. He’d always hesitated, unable to fully commit to his position, unable to let go of what needed to be let go, and so he never truly gained what he could have had.

If it had been Damien Gray, he certainly would have done better!

Damien Gray had always been labeled as a villain—ruthless, a killer without remorse. Yet, he was willing to risk his life so Morgan Shangguan wouldn’t get hurt. Losing to someone like that didn’t seem so hard to accept.

After the treasure hunt, the righteous sects of the martial world had truly fallen. The evil factions—Ghost Guild, Cloud Guild, Rakshasa Palace, Lotus Sect—had suffered little loss. Of the three great righteous sects and three noble families, only the Grandmaster's Estate and Ye Sect remained. The other sects were all but destroyed. It was clear that the martial world would soon fall into the hands of the evil factions!

Prince Ethan was quickly recaptured by Sophie Qiu’s people; otherwise, he would have suffered the same fate. Whether that was fortune or misfortune, only he would know!
