Molly Mao Is Actually a Clever Woman

Rona Muir saw Cecilia Gu tense up, and following Cecilia's gaze, she immediately spotted Sean Kerr and Molly Mao.

Rona Muir said indifferently, "Let them eat their food, we'll eat ours."

As soon as Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir sat down, Cecilia couldn't help but sigh. "From my experience, they're here to show off."

Rona Muir snorted and said, "Did you forget? When I first met you, I was beaten up by a group of women! There are always some women who, for no reason, see me as a romantic rival. What can I do? With a face this troublesome, it's hard to avoid drama."

"Don't worry, I'm on your side! If she dares bully you, I'll make her regret it!" Cecilia Gu whispered.

Rona Muir laughed, "No, no, you should be more worried about her safety."

After saying this, Rona Muir gave a mysterious smile. "This is our turf, after all."

Cecilia Gu was stunned for a moment, then immediately caught on.

That's right.

This is the headquarters of Danni Cosmetics!

If Molly Mao doesn't use her brain, we really won't mind helping her grow one!

A waiter came over to take their order. Cecilia Gu took the menu. The waiter was a handsome foreign guy, so Cecilia asked in French, "Do you have any new dishes lately?"

"Yes, all the ones on the first page are new," the waiter replied. "Miss, your French is excellent."

Cecilia Gu looked up and smiled at him. "Then bring us one of each of the newest dishes."

"Alright, please wait a moment." The waiter took back the menu and said to Cecilia, "Enjoy your meal."

Rona Muir's hand slipped and juice spilled all over her clothes.

"Oh no, seriously..." Rona Muir said in frustration. "This is my favorite outfit. I'll go to the restroom and clean up."

Cecilia Gu nodded.

Rona Muir quickly got up and hurried to the restroom.

Not far away, Sean Kerr saw Rona Muir head to the restroom and quickly found an excuse to leave as well.

Cecilia Gu just sat there and watched Sean Kerr chase after Rona Muir.

Oh dear, is it really okay for me to just sit here and watch the drama unfold?

"Mrs. Yin, may I sit down?" Molly Mao's voice floated over.

Cecilia Gu smiled and nodded.

Alright, so did those two plan this out together?

"Thank you." Molly Mao sat down calmly across from Cecilia Gu and said directly, "You already know about my engagement to Sean Kerr, don't you?"

Cecilia Gu nodded.

"I know you're Miss Mu's friend, but this is a family matter. Could I ask Mrs. Yin not to get involved?"

Cecilia Gu smiled lightly, "Me? Get involved? What have I done?"

Molly Mao bit her lip, looked straight into Cecilia Gu's eyes, and said, "I'm pregnant."

Cecilia Gu was slightly surprised, then smiled, "Sean Kerr's?"

Molly Mao nodded.

"So, you're letting Sean Kerr chase after Rona Muir, while you come to me." Cecilia Gu pointed at herself. "What do you want? Why the heads-up?"

"I have to become Mrs. Sean Kerr," Molly Mao said firmly. "No matter the cost, I'm willing to pay it."

"Why?" Cecilia Gu traced her finger along her glass, her tone calm. "You know Sean Kerr doesn't love you."

"It doesn't matter," Molly Mao said with a self-deprecating smile. "My sister and brother-in-law were so in love, but in the end, my brother-in-law found someone new. Men are all the same. Their so-called affection is fleeting; real power in your hands is what matters. I never fantasized about pink romances like other girls. Those things are far from me—no, they're unreachable. I'm practical. Even if Sean Kerr doesn't love me, that's fine. At least he won't be like my brother-in-law, chasing after every woman he sees."

Cecilia Gu nodded, "That's true."

"So, I don't care that he keeps Rona Muir in his heart. I don't care if he humiliates me today and runs after Rona to explain things. Because the position of Mrs. Sean Kerr will be mine—and only mine. No matter how much he likes Rona Muir, so what? Rona is the second young mistress of the Hirayama Family, she will never divorce and be with Sean Kerr." Molly Mao continued.

Cecilia Gu nodded again, "You see things very clearly."

"Sean Kerr has threatened me. He said if I ever hurt Rona Muir, he could bankrupt the Mao Family. I'm not that stupid; I just wanted to scare him a little. Not just Sean Kerr—even you wouldn't let me off, right?" Molly Mao gave a self-deprecating smile. "The Mao Family, even a thousand Mao Families, can't compare to a single finger of the Yin Family. How could I dare to be your enemy?"

Cecilia Gu chuckled, "You see things so clearly, I honestly don't know what to say."

"I'm just making my position clear. I'm not that stupid," Molly Mao said with a bitter smile. "All I want is power and status. I want this position. Since I can't have love, I'll let marriage be my stepping stone to rise above others."

Cecilia Gu nodded, "You chose one over the other—love or power."

"Exactly. That's why Mrs. Kerr and I hit it off and plotted together, then I got pregnant as planned." Molly Mao lowered her head. "I know my methods are low, and Sean Kerr will look down on me. But I don't care."

"You keep saying you don't care, but deep down, you clearly do." Cecilia Gu exposed Molly Mao's lie.

Molly Mao's expression changed slightly. "Mrs. Yin, as long as you understand, there's no need to say it out loud."

"Life can be long or short. Are you really sure you want to spend it this way? Clinging to a man who doesn't love you, raising a child who will never see his father?" Cecilia Gu challenged.

"What else can I do?" Molly Mao laughed softly, her eyes full of loneliness. "Other men would betray me too. If the ending is always the same, why not choose someone I never had hope for in the first place?"

"No woman truly hopes her husband doesn't love her. And I really do like Sean Kerr," Molly Mao sighed deeply. "But if I can't have his love, then I'll have his child! It's a compromise. Maybe one day Sean Kerr will see me differently for the child's sake—that would be my blessing. If he spends his life loving Rona Muir, at least I know I have only one rival. And my rival won't seduce my husband, so I won't have to fight off mistresses like my sister did."

Cecilia Gu suddenly felt a lot of sympathy for this girl.

Molly Mao is smart, and knows how to endure.

It's rare to see someone so clear-headed, who knows what she wants and dares to make choices.

If she were a man, she'd surely achieve great things.

It's a shame to use that kind of mindset on romance.

"Could anything be worse than this?" Molly Mao laughed softly. "After all, not every woman is as lucky as you, Mrs. Yin! Mr. Yin is one of the best husbands in the world. I envy you, but I don't dare hope for the same."

Cecilia Gu nodded, "I think I understand now. Don't worry, as long as you don't hurt Rona, I won't intervene."

"Thank you." Molly Mao looked seriously at Cecilia Gu and said, "I won't do anything like that—I don't even have the power to. From what I know, the Hirayama Family has people secretly protecting her. If I ever tried anything dangerous, I'd probably end up dead in a ditch by the next day."

Cecilia Gu smiled, neither confirming nor denying it.

Children of the Hirayama Family are never easily put in danger.

The Hirayama Family has even more experience preventing assassinations.

"But the future will bring many unpredictable situations. If anything happens, please forgive me." Molly Mao stood up. "I won't disturb your meal any longer. Goodbye!"

Cecilia Gu nodded, "Good luck."

"Thank you, Mrs. Yin. You're a good person, and good things will come to you." Molly Mao said, then turned and left gracefully, not bothering to find out what Sean Kerr said to Rona Muir.

Cecilia Gu watched Molly Mao's back and couldn't help but mutter to herself, "You really only know what someone's like after you meet them yourself. You'll never get the truth just from other people's words."

While Molly Mao was talking to Cecilia Gu, Sean Kerr cornered Rona Muir in the restroom.

Rona Muir wiped juice off her clothes, glanced calmly at Sean Kerr, then continued cleaning herself.

"You don't even want to talk to me anymore?" Sean Kerr sighed. "I'm sorry."

"What's the point of apologizing to me? You never did anything to hurt me." Rona Muir replied calmly. "All I can say now is, I wish you happiness."

Sean Kerr lowered his head and gave a helpless smile. When he looked up again, his eyes were already wet.

"Rona..." Sean Kerr took a deep breath. "You always know how to make my heart ache even more."

Sean Kerr pounded his chest. "It hurts right here."

Rona Muir finally put down the cloth, turned off the faucet, and stepped back. She spoke softly, "So what do you want me to do? Disappear from your world forever? If that would help you feel better, fine, I'll go to Japan until the day you completely forget me..."

Sean Kerr quickly covered Rona Muir's mouth, stopping her from saying more.

"You know... you know... I..." Sean Kerr suddenly couldn't go on. He looked away, fighting tears. "When I was overseas, I asked myself—if I kept my distance, could I finally forget you? But I soon realized, it doesn't work at all!"

"Because you're always here, buried so deep in my heart. I thought I could dig you out, but I can't. If I did, I'd die too." Sean Kerr said softly.
