Keith Fei did not leave Tan's Apricot Hall—not just because he knew it would be doubly dangerous to go out during the day, but more importantly, if he left now and was discovered by those sent by Mr. Zheng, it would surely implicate Joe Di.

After settling Keith Fei and Sherry Shi into a room to rest, Joe Di immediately took out the Grandwalk Codex.

"Grandwalk Cycle: Sense spiritual energy entering the Baihui acupoint. For the swift, it takes a single day and night; for the slow, it may take ten days or even a month. The path requires one hundred and eight breaths to complete a half minor cycle..."

A cool stream of energy followed, entering through the Baihui acupoint and circulating through Joe Di's body for one full cycle. He completed this cycle in less than thirty breaths—far faster than the one hundred and eight breaths described for just half a cycle. Sensing spiritual energy took him only a few moments; who needed an entire day and night?

After just one cycle, Joe Di felt a subtle transformation throughout his body. It was as if something impure had been cleansed away, leaving him with a sensation he could hardly describe.

So cultivating really does mean absorbing spiritual energy—this technique truly is remarkable. Joe Di gripped the Grandwalk Codex excitedly. Originally, he had planned to memorize the entire technique before practicing it. Cultivation could wait until after he returned from the club and saw Sherry Shi and Keith Fei off.

But once he began cultivating, he lost track of everything else, practicing all the way until after seven in the evening before he suddenly snapped back to reality. He quickly tidied himself up—he couldn't miss Sylvia Su's birthday party. After all, it was a promise he'd made to Yvette Tan.

The ball started at eight, but by the time Joe Di arrived at Riverfront Tower, it was already past eight. He didn't mind—he was only there to deliver a gift before leaving. Being late hardly mattered.

Security at Riverfront Tower was tight. The moment Joe Di presented his invitation, someone began escorting him and led him straight to the top-floor club.

"You must be Yvette's cousin, Joe Di—just back from America, right? I'm Sylvia Su." As soon as Joe Di reached the door, a bright, cheerful voice greeted him.
