The Unreal Covenant Part 5

12/15/2025

Several hours had passed, yet Isabelle Frost remained unconscious. The Funeral Rite did not resume its discussion with us about the Unreal Covenant.

Ethan Zhang, why does your Ghost Aura recover so quickly, and even keep growing, while ours recovers so slowly and doesn't grow at all?

Redmond glared at me in frustration. I shook my head—Rachel Lan and Emperor Yan had already been brought back from their dazed states.

Although I didn’t know the reason, I was certain it wasn’t because of my own instinct.

For a moment, everyone fell silent. Manifesting primal instinct consumes an immeasurable amount of Ghost Aura. Isabelle Frost had only just regained consciousness, and her Ghost Aura was still weak—now she was completely unconscious again.

"What's wrong, everyone? There's no need to be discouraged. The problems we can't solve now might resolve themselves someday in the future.",

Emperor Yan stood up, swung his arms, and picked up his machete and bow, preparing to go hunting. Rachel Lan followed him.

Old Yan, let me come with you.

Count me in, too.

John Chou stood up, smiling as he followed. I watched him, a sense of unease rising within me—his behavior was odd, out of sync, and there was something subtly different from the person he once was.

"Has that guy changed?"

Yuna Ji immediately muttered, while Redmond sat on the ground, visibly frustrated.

"This place really sucks."

Yuna Ji burst out laughing, pointing at Redmond as she spoke.

"You were used to being the boss, weren’t you? Now you have to do everything yourself. If I didn’t help you out, you’d be worse off than a three-year-old."

"Shut up, Yuna Ji."

John Chou and the others had already left. Only the three of us remained, along with the unconscious Yuna Ji. I planned to gather some firewood and wait for Isabelle Frost to wake up. After a few days of rest, we could try to help her manifest her primal instinct and tell us about The Unreal Covenant.

That strange, multicolored rod had already been put back into the original stone, far away from us.

I stepped out of the thicket, wandering through the forest to collect fallen branches. Although I’d learned about the Earth Soul’s situation from John Chou, things didn’t look optimistic.

Otherwise, given Earth Soul’s temperament, there would have been a much bigger commotion.
