However, if that is his choice, there isn’t much he can say about it!

Quentin Hua saw Maxwell Jing about to tear his clothes and quickly grabbed his hand. "Hey, what are you doing? These clothes are expensive!"

Maxwell Jing glanced at him and said, "To bandage the wound!"

Quentin Hua twitched his lips, suddenly catching sight of Ethan Gu. He hurriedly said, "Don’t use my clothes, go let Ethan Gu bandage you!"

Maxwell Jing turned his head and met Ethan Gu’s gaze. He paused for a moment, then spotted two people walking behind Ethan Gu. His eyes darkened as he suddenly strode out of the pavilion, quickly walked to Ethan Gu’s side, grabbed him and walked off, saying, "My wound has split open, help me bandage it!" Without giving Ethan Gu a chance to speak, he hurried forward.

Damien Gray and Morgan Shangguan had already been led to the main hall, while the two people who had been walking behind Ethan Gu suddenly stopped. One of them asked in confusion, "Senior Brother Lu, what’s wrong?"

The one being asked was a handsome young man, currently frowning at the distant backs of Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu as they walked away, somewhat lost in thought. Hearing his companion’s question, he snapped out of it, shook his head, and said, "It’s nothing!" He must have been overthinking it. It was just a resemblance in their backs. Those two people had died long ago—it couldn’t be them. Besides, the ghost masks on their faces already revealed their identities. Even though the Healer’s Sanctuary seldom mingled in the martial world, they knew those were people from the Ghost Guild!

Quentin Hua narrowed his eyes at the scene, a glint of darkness flashing through them. He then curled his lips into a smile, and sighed, though it was unclear for whom.

On the other side, Ethan Gu grabbed Maxwell Jing, who was striding ahead, and asked, "What’s going on?" Seeing the bleeding wound, Ethan Gu frowned in concern.

But Maxwell Jing seemed not to feel anything at all, not even realizing he was using his injured hand to pull Ethan Gu along. Although his expression was hidden beneath the mask, the cold aura around him made his anger clear. The emotion in his eyes was hard to read—was it pain or hatred? But the sense of suppression was unmistakable.

The Healer’s Sanctuary rarely mingled with the martial world. Usually, only new disciples, after a period of training within the valley, would venture out to gain experience. He had assumed that even if someone from the Healer’s Sanctuary attended this time, it would be a younger disciple. After all, the Sanctuary always maintained an image of being detached from worldly affairs and devoted to medicine. Sending someone was already a great gesture, but unexpectedly, the one who came was that person!

It seems everyone sensed that this banquet was far from simple, and even the Healer’s Sanctuary wanted a stake in it. So, perhaps they aren’t so detached from the world after all!

Heh... How could they truly be detached? He knew better than anyone what the Healer’s Sanctuary was really like. If they were truly indifferent, how could they be one of the three great righteous sects of the martial world? How could he...

Maxwell Jing’s grip on Ethan Gu’s hand tightened, blood seeping from his wound and dripping onto the ground, yet he felt no pain at all.

With a flick of his wrist, a flash of silver appeared as Ethan Gu pricked Maxwell Jing’s hand with a silver needle. Maxwell Jing instantly let go, glanced at him, and said hoarsely, "Stop flaunting your medical skills all day!" There was a trace of anger in his voice.

Ethan Gu frowned but didn’t argue. He simply stopped the bleeding and applied medicine to Maxwell Jing’s wound.

Maxwell Jing closed his eyes, the turbulent emotion in them fading away. He softly said, "Sorry..." then withdrew his arm and left without another word.

Inside the main hall, the bride and groom were bowing to heaven and earth. The young master of Jade Dragon Manor, Quentin Yu, was handsome and refined, his red wedding robe making him look even more striking. The bride was Cynthia Yin, the eldest daughter of Jade Pavilion, said to be a beauty.

Jade Pavilion was also a major force in the martial world. Though not as prominent as the three leading righteous sects or the three great families, it was still a renowned and honorable faction. This marriage was well-matched. Coincidentally, both Jade Dragon Manor and Jade Pavilion share the character 'Jade' in their names, which seems like fate. Most importantly, Quentin Yu and Cynthia Yin truly loved each other!

Because the righteous and demonic factions have always been at odds, never seeing eye to eye, the seating arrangement for the guests had to be handled with care. The righteous and demonic guests could not be seated at the same table—they had to be separated, or else a fight might break out at any moment!

It was easy enough to seat the righteous guests—just keep them away from the demonic ones. But the demonic guests were always eccentric; even among themselves, they rarely got along. Fortunately, with the Ghostmaster present, his authority kept everyone in line, so no one dared act out and start a fight.

As for the Ghostmaster himself, he posed a unique problem. The righteous guests refused to sit with him, and the demonic guests didn’t dare sit with him either. In the end, he was given a table all to himself.

Damien Gray was quite dissatisfied with this arrangement. His gaze fell on Morgan Shangguan, and he asked coldly, "Cloud Guildmaster, do you not wish to sit with me?"

His words brought a sudden hush to the crowd. The host had arranged the seats, but now it sounded as if he was questioning Morgan Shangguan, his tone carrying a hint of oppression and obvious troublemaking. Instantly, everyone sensed tension in the air.

The relationship between the Ghost Guild and the Cloud Guild had always been complicated. Recently, rumors of discord between them had surfaced. Most people were skeptical—after all, the two guilds hadn’t openly clashed. But seeing the Ghostmaster’s attitude now, many started to believe it: perhaps there really was a storm brewing between the Ghost Guild and the Cloud Guild.

Felix Yu quickly stepped in to smooth things over. "It was my oversight as host. I hope the Ghostmaster will forgive me!" On such a joyous day, with other important matters to attend to, he couldn’t let these two start a fight.

But before he finished, Morgan Shangguan’s cool, clear voice rang out, "As Cloud Guildmaster, I’ll sit wherever I please. The Ghostmaster has no say in the matter!"
