Stella Nash and Her Apprentice Sherry Yuan

1/4/2026

After a few days of training, Sherry Yuan already knew where her future was headed.

When she saw the powerful Stella Nash standing in front of her, she instinctively felt the urge to submit.

"Come with me." Stella Nash nodded at Sherry Yuan. "If you want to be my apprentice, you have to pass my challenge first."

"Yes." Sherry Yuan stepped up obediently, her palms sweaty with nerves.

There was no turning back for her now.

She had to prove herself, fight for a chance to return to the Yin family, and earn the right to stand beside them.

Stella Nash led Sherry Yuan quickly into a secret chamber and said, "Go through every challenge, one by one."

After speaking, Stella Nash didn’t even bother to wait for her results and turned to leave.

Sherry Yuan kept quiet, not bothering to explain how the earlier training had already drained her strength.

She clenched her teeth and charged in.

But she didn’t see the rare hint of gentleness in Stella Nash’s eyes as she dashed in.

Stella Nash thought for a moment, then decided to ask Jiro Hirayama for something good.

Although the base’s supplies were decent, Jiro Hirayama’s stuff was always a cut above.

Stella Nash knocked on the door. "Jiro Hirayama, do you have anything that relieves fatigue or quickly restores energy?"

"I do." Jiro Hirayama might not be worldly, but he wasn’t stupid. He’d borrowed Captain Hans’s base and contributed to it in return—an unspoken agreement between them. He casually pointed to a shelf behind him, "Fourth row, fifth column across, sixth down."

Following Jiro Hirayama’s directions, Stella Nash quickly found what she needed on the massive shelf.

"Thanks." Stella Nash nodded slightly, then turned and walked out.

Jiro Hirayama just nodded, then immersed himself back into his experiments.

Sweat stung Sherry Yuan’s eyes. She didn’t even have a second to wipe it away—like a startled rabbit, she dashed into the chamber again.

She had to beat every challenge today, no excuses.

She had to make her master keep her!

She refused to be useless!

She wanted to be someone of value!

She wanted to return to the gentle Yin Madam's side and repay her kindness!

She wanted to live her own life!

She refused to be a pawn that others could abandon at will!

She wanted to survive!

Survive!

Survive!

Ah!

Sherry Yuan let out a wild, beast-like scream and charged forward recklessly.

A few instructors watching the surveillance at the base exchanged glances and couldn't help but say, "Where did we find this kid? That fighting spirit is just like Stella Nash back in the day!"

"Yeah, Stella Nash was just like this—never willing to lose. I remember it clearly. Out of all those kids, only she and Polaris made it through the challenge."

"Speaking of which, isn't Polaris still out on a mission?"

"Yeah, right now the base only has Stella Nash. Captain Hans asked Stella Nash to be this girl's master, so it makes sense."

"Captain Hans always knows what he's doing."

"Look, that kid's already at the final level! Unbelievable!"

Stella Nash, who was waiting at the door, suddenly looked up and stared at the figure inside the chamber.

It was as if she saw herself from twenty years ago.

Back then, she was even younger than this girl—willing to risk her life just for a bite to eat.
