Shattered Road Funeral Attendants 2

A slightly teasing, boyish voice came from our left. I saw a blue figure—a boy of about fourteen or fifteen, his face covered in freckles, features fairly regular, wearing a thick woolen hat, a red scarf wrapped around his neck, a blue down jacket, beige pants, and white sneakers. He was quickly moving toward us.

As soon as the boy arrived, he took off his woolen hat, revealing a string of black digits—005—on his forehead.

"Hello, brothers and sisters. Nice to meet you. I am 005."

The boy seemed very polite, a smile always on his lips. He and Agent Seven appeared quite familiar; after his introduction, he immediately turned his head, his demeanor shifting dramatically as he spoke in a harsh tone.

"Didn't I tell you to wait for me? You just ran ahead on your own."

After speaking, he kicked out, but Agent Seven caught his foot and, with a gentle smile, pushed it aside.

"I said before, it's best not to act together. When we skirt those black waters, things are born that mimic us. If a mimic stronger than me appears, I can't handle it."

Immediately, 005 glared at Agent Seven, looking quite unhappy.

"You've come up with another new term. You really are something—Forsaken, huh? I don't like that label. It's just as twisted as you are. Sure, it accurately defines what we are, but it still feels wrong. And what's this about mimics? Damn it."

Agent Seven didn't keep bickering with 005. His eyes filled with wisdom as he gazed into the distance, then smiled.

"Based on our current situation, this is what we're facing. When those black waters from the Curse Lake reach the edge of this forest, Curse Mimics will emerge and come to kill us. They'll surge forward, wave after wave, endlessly hunting us until we're all dead. This world will be destroyed, and there's nowhere left for us to go. We'll become The Entombed, doomed to perish alongside this world, trapped here forever."

Tch.

Entity 005 spat on the ground.

"I've fought so hard to survive until now. The thought of dying here—whether physically or mentally—I just can't accept it."

As Entity 005 spoke, he glanced at Sylvia Blue and Rachel Lan. Sylvia Blue immediately shot him a look of disgust.

"Kid, I bet nobody likes you in real life. Don't give us that look. If you're going to stare, do it properly! Sneaking glances is just pathetic!"

Entity 005 hung his head in embarrassment, his cheeks quickly flushing red. Rachel Lan smiled knowingly, but unlike Sylvia Blue, she walked over and placed a hand on Entity 005's forehead.

"Let's do our best. Let's fight to survive."

She reached out, and Entity 005 hurriedly wiped his hands before shyly taking hers, his head still lowered.

"Things aren't looking good."
