Using Ruthless Tactics to Win Her Heart

Palace Lord Rowan was stunned for a moment, then replied, "Understood."

"You may go." The person inside the wooden house said. Palace Lord Rowan nodded and left, but his mind lingered on the words just spoken. Even as he walked away, he muttered, "Could it be that the senior has already chosen Evan Yang? But then, why continue the tournament?"

Perplexed, Palace Lord Rowan couldn't tell whether the senior had already made a decision, which only made him more curious.

As for Evan Yang, he was currently together with Morgana Dreamhaven.

"This is the Water Leisure Pavilion in the Wood Temple Main Palace. Everything here is made of wood and water, so it's very comfortable to live in. With Elder Woodspirit's protection, it's practically a paradise on earth," Morgana Dreamhaven explained.

Evan Yang was quite curious whether Elder Woodspirit was truly so powerful, since even Morgana Dreamhaven mentioned him whenever she brought up anything. So Evan asked, "Senior Morgana, is Elder Woodspirit really that strong?"

"Of course. He is the oldest and most knowledgeable among all the palace lords, and also the strongest. But he hasn't appeared to see us in a long time—rumor has it he's in secluded cultivation," Morgana Dreamhaven replied.

"I see," Evan Yang muttered.

"Alright, we'll be staying here for several days. Actually, this is also a kind of selection process—no one knows if Elder Woodspirit will choose the top candidate as his pick," Morgana Dreamhaven suddenly said to Evan Yang.

"What? There's something like that?" Evan Yang exclaimed in surprise.

"That's right. No one can say for sure, since nobody truly knows Elder Woodspirit's thoughts. But based on our past understanding, it's probably like that," Morgana Dreamhaven said.

Evan Yang nodded, finally understanding.

"Alright, you stay here. I'm going to discuss something with the other palace lords." Morgana Dreamhaven finished speaking and left, leaving Evan Yang with Palace Lord Yuna.

After Morgana Dreamhaven left, Palace Lord Yuna asked, "Why haven't I seen my sister? Where did you hide her?"

"Where else could I hide her? Of course she's in one of my treasures." Evan Yang was helpless about Miss Cloud insisting on following him. As soon as Palace Lord Yuna finished speaking, Evan let Miss Cloud out.

Seeing such a beautiful and welcoming place, Miss Cloud was overjoyed. "I've always heard the Wood Temple is wonderful—it's truly different!"

"You! I was just wondering where you'd gone," Palace Lord Yuna said with a smile.

"Sis, I knew you wouldn't bring me here, so..." Miss Cloud giggled.

"His status is higher than mine now. As long as he says the word, Master won't refuse to let you come," Palace Lord Yuna said.

"Oh? He's that important?" Miss Cloud was surprised to hear about Evan Yang's elevated status.

Evan Yang gave a helpless smile. "Palace Lord Yuna, you're exaggerating."

"I'm not exaggerating," Palace Lord Yuna replied with a smile.

Miss Cloud didn't care what they said—she grabbed Evan Yang and pulled him away. "Sis, I'm going to look around, check out the Wood Temple. You stay here!" With that, she dragged Evan off until they disappeared from sight.

Palace Lord Yuna looked troubled. "That girl..."

"Hey, hey, isn't it a bit much for you to drag me around? I still have things to do," Evan Yang said, resigned as Miss Cloud kept pulling him along.

"What things? Let's enjoy the scenery first—I've always wanted to visit the Wood Temple, and now's the perfect chance," Miss Cloud said.

Evan Yang glanced around. The plants here were all incredibly vibrant, which piqued his curiosity. He relented, "Alright, but you have to promise not to leave my side, not even half a step. If anything happens, it'll be a real hassle."

Miss Cloud nodded, then followed Evan Yang as they admired the plants. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, while Evan, after a quick look, simply accompanied her as she wandered.

At the foot of a mountain, two young men stood together. One was named Zeke Wood, the other Cole Wood. Both were promising young disciples of the Wood Temple, but they'd never left its grounds, spending every day inside until they were nearly going crazy. Originally, they thought the tournament would let them meet outsiders, but instead, they were assigned to train here. "Senior brother, don't you think it's odd that Master still wants us to train at a time like this?" Zeke Wood sighed. "You don't get it—Master must have his reasons," Cole Wood replied.

"What's so good about it? Every day here is dull—just trees and more trees. I'm about to go crazy," Zeke Wood muttered.
