Divine Flame Embers

Chapter 1170

A five-meter-wide hollow appeared at its chest, and within the range of the Divine Flame Embers, everything was reduced to ashes.

Piercing through the Dark Night Phoenix's body was as effortless as slicing through air—a massive, five-meter-wide cavity now gaped in its chest.

The Dark Night Phoenix, terrified, soared into the sky, but the hole in its chest rapidly expanded. Its body, which had withstood Eighth-Rank spells without a scratch, was now crumbling away at an alarming rate...

Centered on its chest, the phoenix shot up three or four hundred meters before its body exploded with a muffled boom, scattering ashes to the wind—ashes that vanished before they could even fall...

On the ground, Leon summoned Theo, instructing him to gather and devour all the scattered black flames. Meanwhile, Leon himself raced after the Divine Flame Embers that had previously flown off.

This thing was never meant to be controlled by anyone. Left unchecked, the Divine Flame Embers would burn through everything in their path, eventually reaching the edge of the Blazeforge Battlefield, piercing the spatial barrier, and vanishing into endless void...

Only something like a Gate of Radiance could allow the embers to pass through without direct contact.

Rushing ahead of the Divine Flame Embers, Leon calculated their trajectory and swiftly opened a Gate of Radiance.

Within the demi-plane, the Gate of Radiance appeared precisely along the embers' original path.

Three seconds later, the Divine Flame Embers returned to the demi-plane, still circling in the sky along their predetermined path, scattering light across the entire realm.

Retrieving the Divine Flame Embers, Leon let out a sigh of relief. Losing this thing would have been a regret he'd never recover from.

Everything in the sky vanished—the Dark Night Phoenix utterly gone. Even that Level Forty-Two Mythic Artifact was burned to ashes by the Divine Flame Embers, leaving nothing behind.

Such a pity. The power of these Divine Flame Embers was simply too overwhelming—impossible to control. A Level Forty-Two artifact? Not a chance it could survive...

Even the embers left behind after the Divine Flame burned out were beyond what a Level Forty-Two magical beast could withstand.

Leon sighed softly, feeling the loss of the Dark Night Phoenix's materials and mana crystal. The components and crystals from a Level Forty-Two beast were the strongest he'd ever seen—especially since the Dark Night Phoenix carried the bloodline of the Deathless Avatar. Materials infused with even a trace of that power could be forged into an Essence Relic with unique abilities.

You have to understand—even at the height of the Northend World's development, the true Deathless Avatar was nothing but a legend.

There was only one true Deathless Avatar, said to exist since the Elder Age. It truly could not die—each time its life reached the end, it would use divine fire to burn itself to ashes, then be reborn from those ashes, restored to its youngest form.

During the final days of the Plane Colonization Era in the Northend World, there was a powerful mage known as the Deathless Archmage, who, even as a Title Archmage, was killed four times.

But after a while, this guy would show up again, each time stronger than before. Once he reached Sky Rank, he even dared to venture deep into the Fire Elemental Plane—where witnesses saw him burned to ashes before their very eyes.

But after some time, he reappeared...

It wasn't until the Northend World began to decline, with the apocalypse looming, that his secret was finally revealed.

Back when he was still a Title Archmage, he accidentally stumbled into a small demi-plane—the world chosen by the Deathless Avatar for its rebirth through fire.

By chance, he fused with a trace of the ashes left by the Deathless Avatar's rebirth through fire, witnessing the phoenix's resurrection from the ashes. That was how he gained a sliver of the Deathless Avatar's power.

As long as he wasn't killed twice in quick succession, he could always be reborn from the ashes.

Later, some researchers captured magical beasts with the Deathless Avatar bloodline. They managed to extract the bloodline and, using mana crystals, forged a disposable magical artifact that allowed a mage to be reborn once in fire and ashes after death.

The Dark Night Phoenix was one of the most frequently targeted beasts...

Leon shook his head, letting go of his regrets. With the Divine Flame Embers, he'd secured the greatest prize. There would be plenty of chances to find magical beasts with the Deathless Avatar bloodline—he already knew of several places where they could be found.

Unfortunately, those beasts were far too strong—the weakest was at least Level Forty-Four or Forty-Five, nowhere near his current capabilities.

Leon stood at the edge of the Master Alchemist's Seal, deep in thought. In the distance, everyone else was utterly stunned.
