Ian Song arrived and immediately spotted Hugh Xu, Zack Huang, and Leo Li, who had gotten there early.
Hey, why are all three of you standing at the door instead of going in?
Ian joked with a laugh.
"Landon, you’re our leader now! If the boss isn’t here, how could us little guys dare go in? What if nobody pays the bill?" Zack Huang teased.
So, the leader’s real job is just picking up the tab, huh? Ian said helplessly.
You bet!
Joking around, the four of them entered a private room in the restaurant together.
Soon, the food and drinks arrived. As they ate and chatted, Ian stayed calm, but the other three seemed a bit anxious. They all suspected Ian had invited them to talk about the Mech Squad slots, but since he hadn’t mentioned it yet, their nerves kept growing.
Did we get the wrong idea? Maybe he just invited us out for dinner.
Seeing their anxious looks, Ian grinned with satisfaction. "Alright, I won’t keep you guessing. I’m sure you all know why I called you here. So, are you interested?"
“Of course I’m interested! Working with you would be an honor!” Hugh Xu replied happily.
Zack Huang laughed, “Haha, Landon, you really kept us in suspense. Come on, let me toast you!”
After dinner, Zack suggested heading to Greenwillow Street for some fun.
Leo Li gave him a strange look. “Zack, maybe you should call your wife first before we decide?”
Zack grinned, proud to be teased about being henpecked. “I already got permission!”
“Hahaha!”
Everyone burst out laughing, then headed off together to Greenwillow Street.
Greenwillow Street is packed with entertainment venues, but Red Sun Nightclub is the most famous.
Lately, all the trouble has been tied to Red Sun, so naturally they avoid it.
They picked a lively bar and walked in together.
The place was bustling, the dance floor crowded with people of every kind.
In this era, even the poorest never worry about food, so everyone chases pleasure.
The four grabbed a booth, ordered two dozen beers and a few plates of snacks.
After a while, Leo Li remarked, "Four grown men just sitting here is kind of dull. How about we find something fun to do?"
"Fun’s coming our way," Hugh Xu said, glancing over.
Hugh Xu pursed his lips, and the others looked up—just in time to see a group of young women, dressed to impress, heading for their booth.
"You four handsome guys look bored drinking alone. There’s nowhere else to sit, so why not let us join you?" the lead girl said, flashing a smile.
She was easily the most provocatively dressed of the five—her skimpy top barely covered her chest, leaving a wide expanse of pale skin exposed. Honestly, it was more like a bra than a shirt. Her black hotpants showed off long, fair legs, making her hard to ignore.
She wasn’t drop-dead gorgeous, but she was definitely attractive.
